This week's smiles.....week 519

Firstly I must say sorry that I didn't manage to get around the blogs last week.....we were away on an adventure down in south Devon in our caravan and the internet at the campsite was poor.  We had a wonderful few days but I was very missed so have come home to a lot of work.

Here are a few snaps we took while away.  We visited Dartmouth, Plymouth, Salcombe to name but a few.  The sun shone all weekend and our batteries were well charged.

We saw some amazing sunsets from sitting out near the caravan and I managed to snap these pics of the sun getting lower in the sky.

As we arrived home and before we put the caravan back on the drive I took a few pics of the bees enjoying the lavender on the front garden.

I snapped these pics of the huge piles of factory trousers that my darling hubby and I had taken all the old zips out of one evening....I took these pics not really because they make me smile but because I wont be doing many more batches of these because.......

.....this arrived this week...it is now official ....I will be able to get my pension on 23rd October 2023.....and that definately made me smile.

I don't plan to stop sewing but I will be stopping doing the factory trousers....and my sore aching hands from doing this latest batch reminds me why.

Our back garden continues to make us smile.....everywhere you look there is something to make you smile.

Of course I have to end with a few funnies....I hope you leave here smiling and will link up at the bottom to share your own smiles of the week.
Hugs,
Annie x

WOYWW.....

Well, my desk is full to overflowing but it's not with sewing.  I was contacted by a gentleman last week about some material.  His mother had died and she had been a sewer in her life time and become a bit of a hoarder of fabric [who does that remind you of?].  He was interested to have the material used for charity to raise money to benefit others....so who better to bring a bit of fabric to?

Except it was no bit and actually filled many bags and now covers my cutting desk.....and what gorgeous fabric it all is, all sorted into colours [and there may be more coming at some point!!].....I sorted it all out and it has filled a large box ready to be put to good use.

There was also a bin bag full of different waddings.....I can already see me making some fab quilts for charity.

I have had to clear my desks because, as we enjoyed 4 nights down in south Devon at the weekend, I now have work piling up [I've been missed!!!]....my rail is full, I have 9 memory bears to make this week and have another bin bag full of factory trousers to replace the zips in!!!

So, my friends, if you leave me a little message so I know you've called by I will do my best to pop over to see what you've all been up to this week.

This week's smiles....week 518

Hi all.  I hope you've all benefitted from the rain we have had lately...the gardens certainly needed it.

This was the garden produce I gathered yesterday...there really is nothing like freshly picked fruit and veg so that always makes me smile.

Amy sent me this photo of Stephen this week ...he's all ready to go on a two night residential/activity with his school....I hope he's had a wonderful time and comes back with tales of all the exciting things he's done.

Last week I shared the flowers I was brought by one of my customers and this week I was brought this beautiful minature rose by another one....I feel so very blessed that they appreciate what I do like this. :-)

Our garden continues to make us smile...Yes it is lavendar Elizabeth, we have bushes of all colours and the insects and bees are really loving it at the mo.

Finally of course we have to have a few funnies.  I hope something makes you smile and you will then leave me a little comment before sharing your own smiles by linking up below.
I hope you all have a great week.
Hugs,

WOYWW...

Wahooooo It's Wednesday again and I've had another lovely week....I hope you have too.

It's been a week filled with Love, Hugs and Fairy dust.....

This has to be the prettiest prom dress I've ever had to work on.  I had to shorten the straps and steam it and it has left Fairy dust [glitter] on everything it's touched plus I have spread it all around our bungalow from my feet!!

I feel like I've been visited by a Sewing Fairy :-)

The other desk I'm sharing this week is the lap table I have been using while watching the cricket [I love cricket].  I have been crocheting some fidget spinners...they are Moebius [never ending] rings and were just the challenge I needed.  I have enjoyed making them and many have already gone to their new homes....I am selling them to raise funds for The Harry Johnson Trust :-)

That's all from me for this week.  If you leave me a little message so I know you've called in I will do my best to pop over to yours to see what you've been up to.

Hugs and Fairy dust,
Annie x

This week's smiles....week 517

Phew..... it's been a hot one this week and our fans have been working overtime to keep us cool. I've been really busy with sewing and have had some very special customers this week....I'm so blessed to have made some real friends from my sewing business.  I've had hugs and kisses and one even brought me a bunch of flowers [included in the one collage below].....I love my job.

Our strawberries are ripening just fast enough for us to enjoy them....Louie had some yesterday and he thought they were rather yummy too.....he loves any fruit but the ones that are freshly picked and washed are the best.

Milly needed her nails cutting yesterday so, to show Milo what a good girl she is, she insisted we took a photo of me cutting them for her....she happily lies like a baby in my arm and has even sometimes been known to insist I file them for her afterwards.  She's such a good girl ...I think she would allow me to do anything for her. :-) :-)

The first collage from our garden including the flowers I was given....aren't they gorgeous?

Too many flowers for just one collage this week.

My funnies wouldn't fit in a collage this week so I'm sharing them one at a time.
I hope you find something to make you smile and will leave me a little message before sharing your own smiles by linking up below.
Hugs,

WOYWW...

Here we are at another weekly catch up with our creative friends all around the world....I love Wednesdays.

I've had a busy week [what's new? I hear you say]. I've shortened lots of summer dresses and jumpsuits this week but have also found time to make these two school Memory bears...

...these two bring my list of schools that I've made Memory bears for up to 38 now and that includes school from all around the world :-) The one is for a little girl moving up to secondary school and the other is a leaving gift for her teacher.

I have also updated the folder where I keep photos of all the Memory bears I've made and I have now made 684 in total...it thrills me to think of all that Annie's love all over the world.

That's all I have to share with you this week.  I hope you're all coping with the heat ...we have fans going in most rooms in our bungalow today to make it bearable.  If you leave me a little message I will pop over to yours when I get a minute to see what you've been up to this week.

Hugs,

This week's smiles....week 516

Another week has passed and I've managed to find lots of smiles even though I had several days with vertigo.  We enjoyed a long weekend on a lovely campsite near Buxton in Derbyshire....I wasn't going to let a giddy head stop me so I used my walking stick.

We alway carry a small bird feeder with us in the caravan and, as there was the perfect tree next to us, we filled it and enjoyed many chaffinches, green finches, black birds and robins.....so much so that they emptied a full feeder over the weekend.

This was Stephen when he started school 6 years ago [he was such a cutie] and........

..... this is a set of photos Amy sent me this week of him in his new uniform for when he starts secondary school in September.....he's such a character and I really hope he loves his new school.

We had a long day with little Louie yesterday......he's such a gorgeous little man now, he's walking and loves to climb [so the skies the limit].

Now that just leaves me to share my funnies with you.....I hope you find several to make you smile and will share your smiles with us all by linking up at the bottom of the page.

Hugs,

Wednesday 7 June 2023

WOYWW.....

Hello all.  I hope you've had a good week.

We had another long weekend away on a beautiful campsite near Buxton in Staffordshire.  Last Thursday night I started with vertigo and all night the room was spinning...it eventually went by Monday morning just in time for us to come home!!! but I didn't let it spoil the weekend....I just took my walking stick with me to steady me a little when walking.

I had cleared my sewing rail before going away so yesterday I spent my day making a Fidgety quilt...they are for use for people with Altzeimers which is something close to my heart as we have just lost a much loved family member who suffered many years with the awful disease.

Each square has an activity on that can be fiddled with and I'm really hoping it will help with the agitation that they often suffer with.

The other thing I'm sharing today is this lovely post that was put on the page of the charity I support, The Harry Johnson Trust.

I had really enjoyed using the fabric I had been given to fill a box with goodies to sell at local shows and was thrilled to bits to hand over the £170 that I had already raised by selling items prior to handing the box over.....every little helps.

That's it from me for today.  I will do my best to pop over to yours to see what you've been up to this week in between making the Memory bears that are due to arrive this morning.

Hugs,

Annie xxx

This week's smiles.....week 515

So many weeks filled with smiles :-)  It's really good therapy to search out the smiles from the previous week and we can never have too many smiles can we?  Please feel free to join in by linking up to your happy posts....the more the merrier and everyone is welcome.

At the end of last week Phoebe and Lulu took part in the colour run at their school...they get covered in powder paints while they run around their school field and raise a lot of money for their school....the girls had a lot of fun doing it and there were lots of smiley, colourful faces.

At the weekend we went to Theatre Severn to watch the twins in My Son Pinocchio....it was a brilliant show with so many talented youngsters in it and it's so lovely to see their confidence growing with each show they are in....they played the parts of puppets and had to dance and mime etc.  Such proud Grandparents, Parents and other family members went to watch them.

The garden is continuing to make us smile each week...as one plant finishes blooming another takes over...I love it.

I will do my best to leave comments but may struggle as it's another weekend of adventure for us....this time near Buxton.

Of course it wouldn't be a Friday without a few funnies....I hope you've found something to make you smile.

Hugs,

Annie x
