This week's smiles...week 497

Hello all and happy Friday to you.  I hope your week has been as good as mine.  I've  enjoyed lots of time sewing creatively for the charity but have also had rather more customers this week including another bag full of factory trousers to replace the zips in [ 😩 ]....not my favourite job but as am retiring from doing them in October and I only get a bag every couple of months I wont have to do many more....with my hubby helping, we have already removed all the zips [my arthritic hands are telling me too!!].

I walked around the garden yesterday and took a few photos when I noticed signs of promise shooting up everywhere...

I do love seeing early signs of Spring...there's even a couple of snowdrops starting to bloom in the bottom left :-)

We had the twins before and after school on Tuesday and had a surprise visit from Gina and little Louie on Wednesday so our week has been filled with lots of smiles.  Louie is now crawling everywhere and pulling himself up to feet so I'm guessing will be walking soon....he's growing up far too quickly!!

The only other things I have to share with you are my weekly funnies....enjoy.

I hope I have managed to get all of each funny on this week. I couldn't find the incomplete one from last week to put it on again for you so sorry I missed it.

Please leave me a little comment so I know you've called by and I will do my best to call by to see what has been making you smile this week.

Hugs,

WOYWW....

Happy Wednesday to you all.  I've had a lovely productive week again....I've had several customers and have filled the rest of  my week using up more out of the fabric box [otherwise known as the magic porrige pot because it doesn't seem to be getting any less :-)] and had lots of fun creating all sorts that I hope will sell and make lots of money for The Harry Johnson trust.

I made a batch of glasses cases.

I made 3 quilted fabric boxes and have now added 4 buttons on each ...and have already sold the middle one and one of the reversible bags :-)

I then got creative and made some key rings.

First batch are 4 little houses.

Then I made 4 little floral ones and I plan to make a few more different ones....I'm loving being creative.

I hope you have enjoyed my makes and will leave me a little message [more ideas always welcome].  I will pop over to yours as soon as I can.  I hope you all have a great week.

Hugs,

This week's smiles....week 496

I've had a lovely week filled with smiles but have no photos I can share today.

I've been kept busy delving into the box filled with fabric, that I was given, and have now made bunting, reversible bags, poppered purses, glasses cases and fabric boxes, and yet the box of fabric really seems as full as it was when it arrived....it's just like the magic porrige pot story.  I am really loving filling my time with sewing for pleasure in between having a few customers.

Of course I always try to find some funnies to share with you ....

I hope you've found something to make you smile this week and will leave me a little message before linking to your own smiles at the bottom.
Keep smiling folks and have a good week.
Hugs,

WOYWW...

Hi all. I hope you've all had a great week...I have thankfully :-)  I've had a few customers this week but have still managed some quality time sewing for charity.

I've managed to get buy some more cotton tape and finished off making the bunting I was making and it's all bagged up ready to sell [and I've even sold a couple of lengths ].

I then cut out and made 8 reversible bags each having a pocket on the inside and another on the outside.

Next I made 9 little popper purses...each are wadded with bondable fleece and I will probably make a few more in different colourways at some point because I really enjoyed making these.

I have also cut out a batch of glasses cases so they may be my next job....can you tell I'm having fun?

I will be round to visit as many desks as I can to see what you've all been up to this week....hope you're all well and happy.

This week's smiles.....week 495

It's been another busy week for me....I've had a couple of days busy with customers and the rest of my week I've filled with Charity makes....bunting and reversible bags...and I'm loving using my time to hopefully raise funds for a great cause.  I've had lots to smile about and I've got a pic or two to share with you...

This is a photo of Louie playing with a fabric ark I made for the twins....It makes my heart sing watching these things being shared between the grandchildren.

The other news is he has starting crawling this week. :-)

I found this mug on the internet and it said everything to me....I retire in October this year in 10 month 10 days [not that I'm counting  :-)].
I have no plans to stop sewing but there are some jobs I will be giving up...I can be selective can't I ?

Of course it wouldn't be Friday without a few funnies so here you go.
I hope you've found something here to make you smile and will now leave me a little message before linking to your own smiles.
Hugs,

WOYWW....

Hello all.  I've had a busy week but, until yesterday,  I had virtually no customers so I have been using my time to make bunting.

I now have a table full of jobs waiting for me...

  • 2 pair of school trousers needing shortening
  • a Burbery cost needing the pocket flaps stitching back down
  • a referees badge to sew on his black shirt
  • A panel to stitch in the front of a dress and the sleeves need shortening and
  • snap poppers to sew onto the front of another dress to raise it at the front
As you can see I will be head down clearing my jobs this morning but I will then be making a start on other makes for the charity I'm sewing for.  I have made patterns in brown paper ready to make a reversable bag, little poppered purses, glasses cases and a couple of ideas I've got for key rings....can you tell I'm having fun being creative?

On my desk at the mo is this little lot...

I think I've made about 24 lengths of bunting...they are each about 2 metres long with 10 flags on each and I've used different combinations of the fabrics for them [there are 2 different fabrics on each]....then I ran out of tape to make them with so have ordered more.
I'm selling each length for £10 to raise funds for The Harry Johnson Trust.

I've photographed several of the combinations and have got permission to put them on my Facebook page....which I will do soon.

As you can see I've been using my time well...thankfully I'm feeling rather better now.

I will pop over to see what you've been up to in between my sewing jobs.  I hope you've all had a good week.

This week's smiles....week 494

Hi all here we are at our weekly catch up of the things we've got to smile about from the week ...and trust me I have had lots to smile about but I don't have photos to share today.

I'm pleased  to say we are both feeling a lot better, although not quite 100% yet, and its certainly something that is making us smile.

Having been given lots of gorgeous fabrics to dip into I have really enjoyed finding things I can make to fill a table at a local craft fair and have even cut out and made a couple of 100 bunting flags as a start....It will all be sold to raise funds for The Harry Johnson Trust.  It's a local charity in memory of little Harry who died of cancer at just 7 years old and the money raised helps other families in similar situations.....it feels really good to be able to use my skills to benefit others.

The only thing I've got left to do is to share the funnies I've found this week....and there's been  many :-)

I hope your New Year has started off well and you've had lots so smile about...please share them with us all by linking below.

Wednesday 4 January 2023

WOYWW...

Happy New Year to you all....I can now say that 2023 is starting rather better than 2022 ended thankfully.  I think that we have both had flu....it has really taken the wind out of our sails but slowly but surely we are both coming out the other side....I have even been in my sewing room!!!

Before Christmas I was given this bag full of cotton fabrics.....I'm always willing to take excess fabrics off people's hands and can always find a use for it.

Since Christmas I have been given a huge box filled with mostly Laura Ashley curtain fabrics .....metres of each one!!

It was Sally, the mum of little Harry Johnson, the little boy who died of cancer at just 7 years old, that gave it to me.  I have told her that I will use it to fill a craft table for her to raise funds for other children with cancer....there is rather a lot of gorgeous fabrics to use.

Sally suggested that bunting sells well so I have already made a start cutting out and sewing bunting flags and have also been searching Pinterest for other iteas of what to make with it all.

The craft table is at a local show in the summer so I have plenty of time to make it all.....its so lovely to be able to dip into a box filled with gorgeous fabrics.

I am starting back to work today and already have several customers wanting to come so filling in a craft table will fill the time I have left.  I will visit as many as I can in between my sewing jobs.

Hugs,

Annie x
