WOYWW...

Hello all.  I was missing last week because we didn't get back from an escape weekend in our caravan until Tuesday and I had nothing to show and tell.

We went to a lovely little campsite near Monmouth with only 12 pitches and really lovely facilities.  As you can see Peggy loves the camping life. It was a little too hot and the internet signal was poor but who cares...a lot of nothing was done and batteries were recharged.

I was really missed and have spent the last week catching up with work.

This customer said she was coming for 2 memory bears and when she arrived she decided to have 4 made :-)  They are made from a Dad's/Grandad's favourite shirts and turned out really lovely.

One lady came on Wednesday morning [a week early by mistake lol], ten minutes before I was expecting a Bridesmaid and an evening dress to arrive!  She came with a bag full of dresses and skirts but was well prepared so I managed to fit her in before my other customers arrived.  :-)
In fact this week I have....
  • Made the 4 Memory bears
  • Shortened an Evening dress
  • Shortened a Bridesmaid dress
  • Shortened 5 summer dresses and 2 Skirts
  • Took 2 dresses up on the shoulders
  • Top stitched up the front of a blouse
  • Shortened 2 pair of leggings to make them cropped length
  • Cut up the front of a fleece top and put a zip in
  • Shortened the sleeves on a Demin Jacket
....Phew.  And there's more to come yet. 😊😊😊😊  I've had lots of new customers lately as well as my regulars...I don't know where they all come from?

On top of all that this is what's been going on at the end of our front drive.  3 weeks ago we reported a water leak at the end of our drive.  During the next 3 weeks it got worse and was reported several times. It took 4 teams and 3 weeks to deal with it!!
1 guy came and drew a blue box round it!
3 weeks later the next team came and dug a hole and repaired the leak.  Another team came to backfill the hole and the next team came to tarmac it all.
Eventually the road sweepers came and washed the road and pavement.

No wonder there's a drought eh?

That's all from me for this week.  I will do my best to pop by at yours to see what you've been up to.
Hugs,

This week's smiles....week 419

If you read my Wednesday post you will have seen that our adventure didn't quite go to plan....but we still went.  We had 4 nights on a campsite near GCHQ in Cheltenham.  Whilst it was a lovely clean site the fact that it was under the flight path of the small planes landing at Gloucester airport and by the side of a busy road making it not quite the tranquil site it was meant to be.  My shingles caused me a lot of pain in the side of my head and made sleeping very difficult even when dosed up with Paracetamol and Nurofen.

All that saying we had a lovely few days away together with little Peggy.  We visited a National Trust place at Hidcote....beautiful gardens with walks for Peggy.

All around our campsite there were willow woven animals...these were just a few of them.

Peggy really loves life in the caravan.

When we got home our garden was looking beautiful with lots more blooms everywhere.

The lavenders are in full bloom and smell wonderful too.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Friday without a few funnies...some of these really made us chuckle.
Please leave me a little comment before linking up to your own smiles below.

This week's smiles....week 381

Hello all.  It's been another lovely week filled with smiles here.

We went away for a, well earned, weekend break in our caravan on our favourite campsite in Llanidloes....

We went for a lovely ride around the lakes in Elan Valley....it was dry but rather cold.  We enjoyed the scenery and several lovely walks.

Along the side of one of the lakes several of the trees had been cut down and someone had done some really gorgeous wood carvings in the tree trunks.

Sam had to sing two solos at Shrewsbury Food Festival on Saturday.....this is the one video of him singing....I hope you can watch it.  It's amazing how he is growing in confidence and ability now....so very proud of him.  He has taken hiw Grade 3 singing exam this week too.

Theo and Louie had their faces painted and sent me the pic...don't they look fab.

We had two Nanny Annie days this week, Tuesday and Wednesday....so special to watch them growing up.

Louie still likes to snuggle up to me with a book or two after his lunch and as you can see he nodded off :-)

He is stood on a little table in the last pic watching a squirrel on our neighbours bird feeder. :-)

Our garden continues to make us smile....there seems to be flowers in every corner now. :-)

Of course I had to find a few funnies to share with you [I hope none offend].  I hope you find something to make you smile and you will leave me a little message before linking up to your own smiles below.

This week's smiles.....week 377

It's Friday so I'm here to share the smiles of the week..We went on a little adventure last Friday to spend a few days away on a campsite near Abergele in North Wales and I have a few photos to share with you....

We always have a chip shop tea one of the nights we are away if we can and we managed to find a Fish bar in Abergele....we had fish and chips and it was lovely.

Milly enjoyed a run on the beach at Colyn Bay.....she loves to chase her ball and wasn't bothered by all the seagulls.

We had a look at the Life Boat station at Llandudno but sadly it was closed.

We enjoyed a lovely walk at Llanfairfechan and enjoyed a coffee at the cafe there....even the toilet seat in the Lady's loo was rather decorative :-)

We enjoyed lunch sitting outside a cafe looking onto Caernarfon castle...it's a lovely castle and as you can see there wasn't a cloud in the sky.....we were very lucky with the weather all weekend.

Mark, Gina and the boys had a week down near Woolacombe Bay  and they sent us these lovely pics.

I think Louie looks a natural with the football :-)

I love the photo of my son, Mark [my baby] with his babies.

Of course it wouldn't be Friday without a few funnies and I hope I have found something to make you smile.

Now please leave me a little message so I know you've called by and, if you can, link up at the bottom of the page.

This week's smiles....week 368

It's been a wonderful week for us....but it's not been spent here at Sewing by Annie's.  We have been away on another adventure in our caravan...the first for 2024.

We stayed on a really lovely campsite called Lamb Cottage in Winsford.  It was an adult only site and the facilities were spotless.  We did have some rain but we also had sunshine and lots of bird song all around us....it was perfect.

We visited Anderton canal lift....it was amazing to watch it working and while we were there we saw two canal boats being dropped to the lower canal and another one lifted up to the higher one.

We visited Quarry Mill [a National Trust property so it was free to us as members].  The grounds were really lovely with lots of places to walk and the old mill was amazing....I was able to see the old looms still working weaving cotton fabric.

We had to visit the Snugburys Ice cream shop whilst there....we had been there before so the visit was compulsory....it's the best ice cream we have ever tasted so be sure to pay it a visit if you are ever in the area.

The bee was 40 foot tall and was very impressive.

Of course it wouldnt be a Friday without a few funnies...and this week I've found lots :-)
I hope you've had a lovely week filled with lots of smiles and you will share them by linking up below.

This week's smiles....week 528

What a lovely week it's been here at Sewing by Annie's....mainly because I haven't been here most of it :-)

We left last Friday morning so for those that linked up early I was able to pay them a quick visit before we left but the others sadly didn't get a comment from me because where we went to had a really poor internet signal....but it was really lovely.

We booked in for 4 nights at The Three Castles campsite near Monmouth...it was a tiny site with only 12 pitches but the facilities were one of the best we have ever had to use....it was a communal block with 4 wet rooms and was spotless.

On the sunday morning we had a visit from...

...a large group of TVR cars at the field by the campsite plus a cooked breakfast to raise money for a local Farmers Minds charity....a great time was had by all.

We went for a ride to Abergavenney to look at their local market and as we approached it from the car park we came across this treasure........I have been ordering zips etc from them for years for my sewing business but didn't realise they had a shop in Abergavenney so it was a really lovely surprise.  I went in and introduced myself and was greeted like a long lost friend....so special.

We took another ride out to Upton Bishop.  This was the little church where my Mum and Dad got married and is really beautiful....I could just imagine Mum walking up the aisle in her powder blue dress :-)

While we were away Gina took the boys with a group of friends to our local sunflower fields...what gorgeous photos :-)

Of course it wouldn't be Friday without a few funnies...I hope these make you smile.

Please leave me a little message so I know you've called in and I will do my best to pop over to yours to see what you've been up to.

Have a great week.

This week's smiles.....week 523

Here we are at another catch up of the week's smiles......and I think we all need a few smiles.

We were away last weekend in our caravan on a campsite near Colwyn Bay in North Wales and......it rained and rained and rained again but we still managed a lovely walk on the beach with Milly one morning [she really loves running on a beach with her ball] and we had a weekend filled with lots of fun and laughter.  We went up to Angelsey but it was so foggy we could hardly see our hands in front of our faces and the fog horn was going.  We went up the Great Orme for a ride but it was so damp and windy we didn't get out of the car.  All in all it wasn't the weekend we had planned but we really enjoyed the time away together.....so much so that our next break away is already booked.

The view from our caravan was the bottom right pic and in the top right pic was of two of the little visitors [baby rabbits if you can't see them] right outside the caravan window and Milly would have loved to play with them [in truth she would chase them and give them a good shaking if she caught one of them!!]

Yesterday we had our last Louie fun day until after the school holidays so I made the best of  my Louie snuggles.....he is growing up so quickly and changes every time he comes to us.

When we got back from our time away our sweet peas had started flowering.  I love them but can't have them in the house so knowing that they benefit from regular cutting I give them to that much older sister of mine because she loves them.....and I love her too :-)

Of course it wouldn't be a Friday without a few funnies.  I hope something makes you smile and you will leave me a little message before linking up at the bottom of the post to your own week's smiles.....and I hope you've had lots of them.
Hugs,

This week's smiles....week 516

Another week has passed and I've managed to find lots of smiles even though I had several days with vertigo.  We enjoyed a long weekend on a lovely campsite near Buxton in Derbyshire....I wasn't going to let a giddy head stop me so I used my walking stick.

We alway carry a small bird feeder with us in the caravan and, as there was the perfect tree next to us, we filled it and enjoyed many chaffinches, green finches, black birds and robins.....so much so that they emptied a full feeder over the weekend.

This was Stephen when he started school 6 years ago [he was such a cutie] and........

..... this is a set of photos Amy sent me this week of him in his new uniform for when he starts secondary school in September.....he's such a character and I really hope he loves his new school.

We had a long day with little Louie yesterday......he's such a gorgeous little man now, he's walking and loves to climb [so the skies the limit].

Now that just leaves me to share my funnies with you.....I hope you find several to make you smile and will share your smiles with us all by linking up at the bottom of the page.

Hugs,

Annie x

This week's smiles.....week 510

It's been another busy week here at Sewing by Annie's....I've been juggling Grandparent duties with catching up with my sewing after having a long weekend away on a lovely campsite near Abergele in North Wales.

I didn't take a lot of photos while we were away but you will probably get the gist that it was a lovely chilled weekend away in our caravan...and Milly loves the life as much as we do :-)

We went on several lovely walks...so much so that Milly put herself on her bed for a long sleep on Monday afternoon when we got home :-)

On Saturday Theo took part in the Schools Half Marathon...they run daily in school and then run the last mile all together with many other local schools.  He's very proud of his medal as you can see. :-)

Phoebe has been wearing train tracks to correct the alignment of her teeth and had them removed on Monday....what a great job they have done.

She's even more beautiful now :-)

You may have seen on Wednesday that I had done repairs on a very special teddy for one of my customers.

She sent this photo for me to share of just how pleased her little boy was with his bear...it always makes me smile to know how much my work is appreciated. :-)

We have enjoyed two days with Louie this week.  He's such a lovely boy to look after...it makes having to juggle my work all the more worth while.....and Grandad enjoys a nap while having a snuggle with Louie too :-)

The only other thing for me to do is to share a few funnies with you...they wouldn't fit together in a collage today so I've posted them separately this week.
I hope you find something to make you smile and will leave me a little comment before linking up to your own smiles below.  Have a great week.
Hugs,
Annie x
