This week's smiles.....week 510

It's been another busy week here at Sewing by Annie's....I've been juggling Grandparent duties with catching up with my sewing after having a long weekend away on a lovely campsite near Abergele in North Wales.

I didn't take a lot of photos while we were away but you will probably get the gist that it was a lovely chilled weekend away in our caravan...and Milly loves the life as much as we do :-)

We went on several lovely walks...so much so that Milly put herself on her bed for a long sleep on Monday afternoon when we got home :-)

On Saturday Theo took part in the Schools Half Marathon...they run daily in school and then run the last mile all together with many other local schools.  He's very proud of his medal as you can see. :-)

Phoebe has been wearing train tracks to correct the alignment of her teeth and had them removed on Monday....what a great job they have done.

She's even more beautiful now :-)

You may have seen on Wednesday that I had done repairs on a very special teddy for one of my customers.

She sent this photo for me to share of just how pleased her little boy was with his bear...it always makes me smile to know how much my work is appreciated. :-)

We have enjoyed two days with Louie this week.  He's such a lovely boy to look after...it makes having to juggle my work all the more worth while.....and Grandad enjoys a nap while having a snuggle with Louie too :-)

The only other thing for me to do is to share a few funnies with you...they wouldn't fit together in a collage today so I've posted them separately this week.
I hope you find something to make you smile and will leave me a little comment before linking up to your own smiles below.  Have a great week.
Hugs,
Annie x

WOYWW...

Here we are at another weekly catch up of desks around the world with all they have to offer.  I love how much we share and how different each and every desk is...it's my favourite day of the week for sure.

Since last Wednesday we have been away on our first adventure of 2023 in our caravan.  We had a long weekend on a lovely campsite near Abergele in North Wales....and that included a visit to Abakhan at Mostyn  :-)  It was a mixed few days weatherwise but we managed some lovely walks with Milly.

I picked up a few new balls of wool at Abakhan and crocheted a few little hearts while away and also had several customers contact me needing sewing doing on my return to work...it's lovely to be in demand :-)

One of the customers sent me a photo of a very special bear who had had an accident and burnt his face on a log burner whilst hanging up to dry after a wash. Their little boy insists on having this bear to sleep with so, even though I am normally closed on a Tuesday, I said she could drop him off with me so I could repair him while I had no other customers.

We decided that a 'plaster' would be the best way to tackle the repair as it would be impossible to make it invisible and the result pleased both me and my customer.....and of course her little boy.

We have little Louie this morning and all day tomorrow so I sensibly cleared my sewing pile yesterday but I have many jobs coming in today that will be fittied in as and when I can.....Nanny duties always come first but Grandad will happily take charge while my customers drop off with me.

I hope you have a great week....I will call by to say hello ASAP.

Hugs,

This week's smiles....week 509

We've had a lovely week this week and there's been many smiles.

On Friday night we went to Theatre Severn to see....

Shrek Junior...It was brilliant and there were so many very talented young people in it....we are so luck to have such a well used theatre in Shrewsbury.

Of course we had personal reasons for going too...

Lexi was performing in it [proud Nanny moments]. These are the 4 parts she played...she sang and danced and her confidence has really grown now....It's wonderful to watch.

It was our 41st Wedding Anniversary on 17th which would have been my Dad's 103rd birthday....such happy memories of our special day.

Our grandchildren asked why Grandad looked like Elton John :-)

I made my dress and it always makes me smile. It had a full length train and I felt like a queen in it.

The wedding cake makes us laugh because, if you noticed the wall heater behind us, the icing under the pillars started to give way and they had to be supported with cardboard before it toppled over.

My bouquet was made up with freesias and when it arrived from the florist several of the freesias were dead and had to be removed and other flowers moved into the spaces left.

So many happy, happy [and often funny] memories.

Of course I just have to share our garden flowers  ....the tulips are simply stunning in the sunshine so hope you love my new header pic as much as I do.

I've just the one funny today...funny? yes but it has a serious message. We are trying to teach the children that it's not necessarily who they think on the internet.

I may struggle to leave messages this week but will do my best...more about that next week ;-)

Hugs,

WOYWW...

It was our 41st Wedding Anniversary on Monday so we have enjoyed celebrating it together....it seems like only yesterday!!

It's been a quieter week with sewing this week with everyone being on Easter holidays so I've been using my time crocheting worms :-)

I wanted something to do while watching the telly so searched out the worry worm pattern and poem on Pinterest and have been having fun crocheting one in every colour of wool I could find in my box...they are now all packaged up ready to go on the craft stall to sell for the Harry Johnson trust.

For Lulu's 13th birthday Mark and Gina bought Lulu this gorgeous crochet kit hoping the lesson I had given her would have taught her enough to use it.

Of course she loved it and since then, whilst on her Easter holidays, Lulu has sent me a daily update as to what she was crocheting....her granny square has now grown into quite a blanket....I'm soooo proud of her that she has been able to tackle it alone.

I sent Phoebe the link of how to make a worry worm and she's been having lots of fun making some....they are tricky to do but each one she makes gets a little better from the previous one....I love how creative both girls are.

That's all from me for today.  I hope you've had a creative week too.  If you leave me a little  message I will pop over to see what you've been up to this week.

This week's smiles.....week 508

Another week has passed and I have more smiles to share with you.

As promised on Wednesday here's a few photos of Louie's 1st birthday celebrations.  There was an open day at their house last weekend for his family and friends to call in to see him and they then went away to spend a few special days in a caravan to celebrate as a family.
Gina made the amazing cake...Louie loves Ted the tractor and it was a big hit with all that saw it.

Our little garden is bursting out into colour everywhere we look and I love it.

I wouldn't be a Friday without a few funnies of course.

I hope you find something to make you smile and will leave me a little message before linking up to your own smiles at the bottom of the page.

Hugs,

WOYWW....

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend.  We enjoyed lots of family times so it was very special.

On my desk today are...

The 14 WOYWW ATCs I've made ready for this year's swap.  Jo and I have both made 14 and will be sending them out together to save on the postage so if you'd like to swap with us please send ours togther to either of us...two for the price of one :-)

Mine are a little different this year but I'm not revealing all yet :-)

The other photos I'm sharing today is of the lovely time we had last Friday....Lulu had asked me to teach them both to crochet so whilst the men were at football that's just what I did and by the time we had finished they had both mastered making a granny square.....just look at the concentration on their faces  :-)

We all really enjoy our crafty times together and I love passing on my knowledge to another generation. ....special memories :-)

It was Lulu's 13th birthday on Monday so we now have two teenagers in the family :-)

It was an open house at Gina and Mark's at the weekend to celebrate Louie's 1st Birthday [he's one today] so I baked a box full of mixed cakes to take with us to be enjoyed by all that called and we popped over on Saturday morning [photos to be shared on Friday].

Please leave me a little message so I know you've called in and I will pop over to your's to see what you've been up to this week.

This week's smiles ....week 507

Another week has passed and I've had plenty to smile about thankfully.....I hope you have too.

As promised, on Wednesday, I am starting off with a few pice of Lexi and her dancing group from the Competition day at Oswestry school last Sunday...

Here's Lexi doing some of the 7 dances she entered into..2 solo dances, 2 duets and 3 group dances and she was judged 2nd in 6 out of the 7 so we are soooooo proud of her.

The bottom three pics are to the song..'This girl is on fire'....and she def is :-)

Here she is with her medals [top right is her very proud dance teacher].

It's such a brilliant dance group. Lexi loves her dancing and has really grown in confidence over the years she has been learning.

Gina sent me this photo of Louie this week and it makes me smile every time I look at it...he had just woken up and still has bed hair but is such a happy boy....he will be a year old soon!!!

Doesn't time fly?

I thought I'd share the trees we have in our garden today.  The blossoms are so pretty and the crab apple trees are just opening up ready to bloom too.

Of course it wouldn't be Friday without a few funnies [I hope none offend].

Finally I would just like to wish you all a very Happy Easter weekend, whatever you have planned.

Please leave me a little message so I know you've called by and then link up to your own smiles at the bottom.

Hugs,

Wednesday 5 April 2023

WOYWW...

It's been another busy week for me and, as always I have demands from my family when I'm at my busiest.

This time it was to steam Levi's dance outfits.  On Sunday she entered 7 dance competitions and did rather well....results will be coming on Friday cos she sure did make me smile...so please call back on Friday if you'd like to know how she did.

  😀😀😀😀😀😀

I've been making another Memory bear out of a Wedding dress.....thankfully the Wedding dress fitting I had to do this week didn't need anything doing to it so there was no risk that I would make a bear out of the wrong dress.

This brings my Memory bear count up to 676....I'm so chuffed.

That's all I have to share with you this week.  I will pop over to your desk ASAP if you leave me a little message so I know you've called by.

Hugs,

Annie x
