This week's smiles....week 364

Hello to all my visitors.  Now, more than ever we all need to looks for the smiles in our lives and share them with our friends.  We need to check to make sure we are all coping and staying well in this difficult time and we must be very thankful for the technology of today for making this easy for us.

I have many smiles from my last week to share with you....

Our three children all check up on us daily and have been sharing some lovely photos from the activities they are filling their days with.  Of course we are all missing the hugs and cuddles but we will get through it.....and just think of the catching up we will have to have then.

Amy's three have been doing a daily workout with Joe Wicks on Utube, baking, escapology and school work on the computer...they do like to make us smile.

The twins have also done some lovely baking and have been working out with Joe on U tube but, as you can see, they have also been doing some balloon modelling too.

Theo has enjoyed doing some exercises with Joe too and has also made a wonderful rocket with boxes, cardboard tubes and stickers etc plus has enjoyed water play on a builders tray in their kitchen.

As you can see all our grandchildren are adapting well to their home schooling and isolation....thankfully they are all well and easily amused.

This makes me smile a lot.

Our garden continues to give us a lot to smile about and we have had some really stunning blue skies lately to be thankful for.....even the first little forget-me-nots have started to open.

We have been planting seeds and are already being rewarded with [clockwise from top left] a courgette plant, 2 cucumber plants, the first little potato has started to shoot and just look at all those little tomato plants on the bottom left.

Even though the world around us is a little crazy right now nature carries on and hopefully when all this madness settles down we will have lots of rewards from the garden.

Finally, there are lots of folk putting pictures in their windows of rainbows to make others smile so I thought I'd add this one here and here's a link to the song.  I have always sang this to my children so it's a firm favourite with me...I really hope it brightens your day too.
I really hope you are all coping well and most of all staying safe and well.
Hugs,

WOYWW....

Hello all.  I really hope you're all being sensible and are self isolating to stay safe and well from all the madness that's going on in our world at the moment.  I'm certain us crafters will be finding it easier than most especially the ones that part of the WOYWW gang.....Thank you so much Julia for starting it all and for linking us all each week and keeping it going each week.....I'm certain that, like me, you all feel blessed to be in with the gang......If anyone needs a friend to chat to I'm always here for any of you.

Now. What have I got to share with you this week? Well, I've had no customers so I have spent the time with the rabbits....the Luna Lapin ones of course.

Since last week I've now made little bags for each of the 6 rabbits....

3 Pretty ones for the girly rabbits that now have their cardies in and

3 Football themed ones for the boy rabbits that now have their footy kits in.

Each little rabbit now has a little 'made with love' charm sewn in it's ear and a label that says 'made by Nanny with love' label......just to make them extra special.

The girly bunnies have a pretty head/hair embellishment to match their outfits....I enjoyed nearly a full day making these :-)  Here are the 6 rabbits all lined up, now finished.  I've decided to give them out as Easter gifts so.....

We bought some stacking drawers to put each one in and here they are all ready for the off now. :-)

I felt a little emotional tucking them away now they are all finished but just know they are all going to good homes. :-)

So what to do next?......

Meet Nanny rabbit.  I've enjoyed making this one and have also made one for Gina,  Theo's mummy, who has requested one for her next birthday as she loved them so much.

I won't share Gina's until after her birthday in September but you may get to see how Nanny rabbit develops....and of course it has been suggested that I will need a Grandad rabbit too so watch this space.

Finally.....what does a sewing lady do when she's in self isolation?.......

....She makes pants of course.....so if you are in need and can't get out to the shops to buy yourself a new pair maybe I could take orders?

That's all from me for now.  keep smiling folks and shout me if you need me.
Hugs,
Annie x

This week's smiles....week 363

This week, more than ever, I feel we need to focus our minds on the happy things around us and look for something to make us smile.....and it would be really lovely for as many as can could join in the fun by linking up below.

I have decided that nature knows best at the mo.....our garden is shooting up and blooming in every corner now and doing it's best to make us smile.  I just felt the need to share it with you all....

We have even seen butterflies and a big bumble bee this week and that always makes me smile.

This Coronavirus will be causing concern to many but as long as you are sensible we should hopefully all come out the other side safe and well and I have to be honest in that there have been so many funnies on Facebook about it that it has caused many giggles.  Here is one example for you....

That's all from me for this week so I will just say....Keep smiling and carrying on folks.

WOYWW.....

What's on my desk thise week?....certainly more than is on the supermarket shelves!!  The world has gone mad.  Why do folk need to snatch and grab at everything in the supermarkets when there really isn't a shortage?.....rant over.

I am being sensible but carrying on with life as best as we can....I do have hand gel at my door for any customers [it was one we kept in the motor home because there isn't any in the shops now and today I was actually told they wouldn't be having any more in stock as it all had to go to the hospitals] but I am not sat here sewing in full surgical gown, gloves and mask.....yet!

I have made 3 new Memory bears this week and have 3 nurses dresses to shorten the hems on so I'm being kept busy so far....and in between times I'm sewing for fun.

These are the 3 bears made in memory of a special Mum and Grandma.  There is a 'mum related' special offer on over on my Facebook Page at the mo to have free labels made [please check out my page for details if you're interested] and these are the details she asked to have put on her labels.

In between jobs I've been making little bags to go with the Luna Lapin rabbits.  The one using the pattern in the book was too small for what I wanted so I've enlarged it and this is the first little zany bag I've made....others are cut out but as yet not stitched.

That's all from me for today.  I hope you can all stay safe during these difficult times.  Sending you all much love and lots of long distance hugs.

This week's smiles....week 362

Hello all.  I hope you have all had a wonderful week filled with smiles.  I like to spend a little time each week focussing on the happy moments in my week and sharing them with those that like to drop by for a smile....and hopefully will share your own smiles by linking them up below.

These are a few pics that have had me smiling this week....

It's been World book day here last week and our grandchildren have enjoyed dressing up for it :-)
Here's Amy's three...they all love to share their photos with me.

It especially made me smile because Phoebe is wearing the outfit I made for her mummy when she was the genie in aladdin when she was at school...it's been used many times since :-)

Lexi dressed as Thing 2 from Dr Zeus and her best friend at school was Thing 1 :-)
Sam was Harry Potter of course.

I do love that their schools join in the fun of special days.

Shell sent me this photo of their puppy Jet stopping their cat Monty from going out through the cat flap....I think she wanted to play :-)

I snapped this pic of two ducks on the roof of the house behind us on Wednesday...I think even the ducks have had enough of all the floods now!

I saw this on Facebook this week and it really made me laugh....please don't read if you're easily offended.

I hope you have enjoyed my smiles this week.

WOYWW.....

What a lovely week I've been having since I saw you last Wednesday....and I'm here on our desk sharing day to show you what I've been up to...

Last week I showed you the pink coat I'd made for Phoebe's Luna Lapin rabbit.

Well, this week I've made the purple/lilac coat for Lulu's rabbit with matching bias trim to her dress and......

......I've made the turquoise coat with matching trim for Lexi's rabbit.

I really have enjoyed making each of them and love how they have all turned out but I have decided that no one would want to pay me to make them one [and I'd not be keen to part with them] because there is a good 2 day's work into making each coat.....a real labour of love
         😍😍😍

Here's the three all lined up in their new coats looking rather pleased with themselves....some would say 'All dressed up and nowhere to go'

I haven't decided when I will be handing the rabbits over yet...there's no rush and I'm rather enjoying seeing them all sat together on my desk for now.

Of course I haven't finished yet....I have lots I've planned to make just yet for them.....

I had a request to make a football kit for one of the rabbits but of course you can't make one without the other so I am now making little football kits for the boy rabbits.

Here's the first I've made.  I have had to adapt the pattern to make it work but am rather pleased so far....mad aren't I?....or maybe I just love my Grandchildren rather a lot.  😍😍😍😍😍😍

I hope you have enjoyed your visit this week and will leave me a little comment.  I will do my best to pop over to yours when I can.....I did have a few late visitors last week that I didn't manage to comment on but I will try harder today.

This week's smiles...week 361

This week we have been celebrating my darling hubby's birthday so we have had lots to smile about. His birthday was actually on Tuesday and we had Theo for a full day from 7am to 7pm so we had a trip to Legoland Discovery Centre in Birmingham as a treat for us all :-)  Here's a few of the photos I took while we were there.....

It was a perfect place to take a pre-school age child but I can honestly say us grown ups really enjoyed it too....I just wish it was there when I was a child because I loved my Lego :-) [still do].

I have a feeling Milly was pleased to see us when we got home because she found one of her favourite toys and brought it to my feet to use it as a pillow....either that or to trip me up if I thought of going away again.

I saw this on Facebook and thought I'd share it with you.
I had to giggle at it because many years ago we used to have a gold fish and one morning when we got up it wasn't in it's goldfish bowl!  The bowl was empty and you can just imagine our shock when we eventually found the gold fish under the edge of the settee on the carpet......We had no idea at all how it got there but just maybe this could be a clue?

If I've made you smile today please leave me a little message so I know you've called by and don't forget to link your smiles below before you go.
Hugs,

Wednesday 4 March 2020

WOYWW....

Here we are at another Wednesday catch up of creative spaces of our friends all over the world.  As always, it's been another busy week for me.  Even when my days aren't filled with sewing for my customers I tend to fill them with sewing for pleasure so here's a catch up with what I've been busy with....

Here's the first Memory bear I've made this week.  It was for the lady who won my Valentine's Day draw over on my Facebook page and is made from tiny babygros.

There's a special offer over there now with Mum's in mind if you're interested.

The second one was made for a returning customer.  I made one for her in memory of her Mum when she died and this one is in memory of her Dad who has recently now died too.
I feel so blessed to make special memories for such lovely people and love how they share their memories with me.

In between jobs I've been making this special little coat for Phoebe's rabbit.  I've made my own bias binding to match the rabbit's dress and really enjoyed making the detailed coat  [it has many panels with lots of top stitching plus it has pocket flaps and  sleeve details with buttons on ] ....took me easily a day and a half to make but if you'd seen Phoebe's face when she saw it you would just know how much pleasure it gave me.

Doesn't Phoebe's rabbit look rather special now?

Of course I now have two more coats to make for Lulu and Lexi's rabbits so first I have to find 8 buttons for each....

I managed to find 8 for the purple/lilac coat eventually but to find 8 for the turquoise coat wasn't so easy....so many buttons to choose from too!!

Jo has looked at her buttons and hopefully we will find 8 between us :-)....or of course I just may have to go out to buy some :-)

I hope you have enjoyed a peek into my world and will leave me a little message so I know you've called by.  I will aim to get over to yours ASAP....but please be patient with me as it was my darling hubby's birthday yesterday and there just may be a bit of celebrating to do.
Hugs,
Annie x
