This week's smiles...week 108

Hello all.  We were a little thin on the ground when it came to those joining in last week....I guess you were all off enjoying happy times  :-) ......take a camera with you next time and share it with us please.

When there was only 4 of you sharing your smiles I flatly refuse to choose just one of you.  I thank all four of you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time out of you busy lives to blog and share your smiles with us.

This week, as always, has been full of smiles for me.  When you are a grandparent with 5 gorgeous little munchkins living in close proximity you are never short of something to smile about.....

As you can see Poppy the puppy has grown lots now.  She's just gorgeous and is really loved by the family.  Steve is even giving us the thumbs up in case you were in any doubt.            :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

The twins went to see a Frozen show and dressed for the event :-)  Aren't they just so cute?

My final smile for this week is yet more little treasures that I've found in our new garden.  We really do have bulbs shooting up all over it and I can't wait to see the colours of all the flowers.....I'm sure I will share them too  :-)

Thanks for dropping by this week.  Please snap a pic or two of what's making you smile this week and share yours with us by linking below.  Thanks.

Hi folks.  It's been one of those weeks when I really can't wait to get my new sewing room set up and organised.  "Why Annie?" I hear you did didn't you?

....this beautiful dress came through my door requiring a little job that was crying out for a few sequins and gems.

"Where were they?"

Well!!! .....they could be just about anywhere as this was my first wedding dress through my door since the house move.  So out came boxes, tins and jars!!

So my room today is looking like this!!!! on the pics if you dare for a closer look :-)

Chaos reigns! .....but, as I know you will want to know, I did eventually find what I was looking for and yes you guessed it....they were in the last place I looked!!

Oh how I long to get this lot organised and all sorted in places I can put my hand on everything.

I hope you've enjoyed your visit today.  If you would like to leave me a little hello comment to let me know you've called in then I will call by at yours as soon as I'm able.

This week's smiles....week 107

Hello all.  Here we are at another Friday when I share my smiles for the week and reset Mr Linky so you can share yours too. We had lots of great smiles last week and it's so lovely to see friends coming back to share their smiles even if it's been a while since they joined in.....there really is no obligation but it's so lovely to see you.

This week I'm featuring Kay's blog.  She share some really funny ads with us and I have to admit they really made me chuckle.  Thanks for sharing Kay.

I had a really fab couple of hours on Wednesday when I joined  our two daughters, our daughter-in-law and our five grandees over at Amy's house for fun and games and lunch together.  I have put together a collage of photos to share with you of our pizza making fun for lunch....they were really yummy too.

Feel free to click on the pic if you want a closer look.

In the top right pic you will see that Poppy has become my little friend....she loves to sit on my feet every chance she gets :-)

In the pic below that one you will see that Steve made us smile by nibbling the edge off his pizza base before he put the topping on....his mummy really needs to feed him more :-)

I do so love watching all the interactions between all the children.  They all play really well together and enjoy each others company which really makes me smile as you can imagine.

I'm adding this pic especially for Kate.  She always puts a pic or two of her gorgeous skies over in Spain for me and we both enjoy finding the faces in the clouds......I hope you can see the face in my clouds today Kate.  He looks a little menacing and is looking over my neighbour's roof :-)

Thanks for dropping by today.  Please join in the fun and link up your happy posts below and I promise I will call by to see what's made you smile this week as soon as I can.

Wednesday 18 February 2015

Hi folks.  Here we are at another Wednesday when we all link up our creative spaces over at Julia's at the Stamping Ground....if you still don't know what it's all about then pop over there to find out more and join in the weekly fun.

I've had a busy week with my sewing...some for customers but mostly for myself :-)  I've now completed the 4 tops that I cut out a few weeks back...

Here's the three I made this week.....not very good pics sorry.  They are all pintucked down the the fronts [machine sewn for those that asked] and the blue one on the right of the pic even has machine embroidered detail over the pintucks.

Isn't it funny that the warmer fabrics all tend to be plainer, darker and at most with checked patterns.

Because of the lack of colour in the warmer tops I am now enjoying cutting out some summer tops in pretty floral fabrics...this one as you can see is pink and turquoise and at the back of the photo you might be able to see some lilacs, navy and other pretty colours.

Roll on warmer weather eh?

So folks that's it from me for today.  What you been up to this week?  Leave me a little hello comment so I know you've called by and I will pay you a visit to check out what's going on in your work space.  Have a great week.

This week's smiles....week 106

It's so lovely seeing those of you taking time out of their busy lives each week to make the world a happier place by sharing their smiles.

This week I'm sharing someone that joins in every week.  I always make a cuppa and give myself time to read all she's written.  She shares her life in Spain with her lovely family and always adds all the smiles she's enjoyed during her week....esp all the wonderful skies that we both really enjoy finding faces in.  Thank you so much Kate for making the time to share your world with us.

My smiles this week have been many as always.  My family are always top of my list when it comes to reasons to smile.  I am such a proud Mum and Nanny and wallow in their achievements.

Little Phoebe has had her first swimming badge but has to send away for her badge and certificate so I don't have a pic of that to share as yet.

Little Sam has had a nasty sicky bug this week so little Lexi had to go to playschool without her twinnie on Tuesday.  Mummy left her in tears but she very quickly stopped crying and managed her first day without him....they were really pleased at home time to be together again though and spent the evening hugging, cuddling and laughing together....they really do have a very special bond.  Get well soon little man.

My snaps for today are...

Shell having fun time with Lexi...just in case you can't tell they are both being Anna from Frozen  :-)

These have given me sooooo much to smile about this week.

As most of you will know we moved into our new little bungalow last August so this is the first Spring in our new home.  We had no idea at all what hidden treasures were planted but our back garden is coming to life at the mo.  I am so excited and really can't wait for it all to burst into bloom so I can share it all with you.  Isn't nature just amazing.  All these little treasures have been hiding from us, we had no idea at all that they were there and they feel like very special gifts emerging from the cold, frozen ground.  They are all coming up in the part of the garden we will be moving to build our new extension so once they have bloomed we will be moving them but will enjoy them where they are for this year.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit this week and will share all that's making you smile this week by linking them below.

Wednesday 11 February 2015

Hi folks.  Happy Wednesday to you all.

I have more sewing to show you today....cos that's what I do :-)

This was my sewing machine area yesterday while I was making a throw to go across the bottom of Shell's bed for's what you do when you have already shortened the curtains for them and have enough fabric to make a matching bed throw :-)

Shell even let me put her new throw on her bed and snap it so I could show you it all finished.  It really looks fab and completes the look too.

It's been a week of sewing for the bedroom.  Here is one of our quilt covers that I have given a new life to.  The panel that went across the top of the quilt was in a fabric that my dry hands kept catching on [they get like sandpaper at times!] and it kept waking me up in the middle of the night so it had to go.  The quilt cover was fairly new so far too good to throw out so I have replaced the panels with a pretty turquoise cotton fabric and of course the pillows now have matching panels too  :-) all needs a good press now but I'm rather chuffed with the results.  :-)

Thanks for calling by today and for all the lovely comments you leave.  I will do my best to pop over to yours as soon as possible to say hello so do let me know you've called by.

This week's smiles...week 105

Happy Friday to one and all.  I think we had more visitors than ever last week so I would like to thank all that called in and left lovely comments and of course a special thank you to the 9 who also called in to link up their happy blog posts.

I am featuring Robyn's blog this week.  I have a real love of the birds that visit my garden but have to say we have nothing anywhere near as exciting as those little lorikeets that she has visiting hers.....thanks so much Robyn for sharing them with us.

My smiles this week have been plenty as always but I'm being a material girl today and am sharing the pictures of my changing this fabric I showed you a couple of weeks ago...

A new top for yours truly and what made me chuckle was my attempt to show you that it actually fitted and, I felt, looked rather good on me.....

Talk about the sun shining out of my.......

The flash was on on my phone when I snapped the pic and I'd taken it off before I realised so this is as good as I got.  :-)

I hope my poor attempt at a selfie has made you did me.  :-)

Please share your smiles by linking them below and lets all make the world a happier place to be.

Wednesday 4 February 2015

It's been a better week for us this week.  I've had my usual busy week with my family commitments but have also managed a bit of sewing too so that's what is on my desk today...

I've made a start at one of my new has 10 rows of pin tucks down the front and they take a while to get right so not something I rush.  The main body of the top is also put together now so I now just need to overlock the seams, put in the sleeves and collar and finish off and it will be job done.  :-)  Just 3 more to make then before I cut out my summer tops  :-)

I also know there will be some of you wondering how our last little dog, Rocky is getting on without his sister.  He spent several days wandering around looking for Wispa and was in need of lots of TLC so we booked him in for a pamper session on Friday and he has had a hair cut and manicure  :-)

We can now see his beautiful brown eyes again and he is really enjoying all the spoiling he's getting.

He's even pulled up one of the dog beds into my sewing room and is enjoying my company while I sew  :-)

Thanks for dropping by today.  If you leave me a little message to say you've called by I will do my best to call in at yours as soon as I get the chance.
