This week's smiles.....week 524

Another week and lots more smiles thankfully.

Milly has been for a trim and is very pleased to be summer ready now....all we need is some sunshine !!

We've spent time with all 7 of our grandchildren...and that always makes me smile...

We joined these gorgeous 3 at a party on the Sabrina boat on the River Severn to celebrate their daddy's birthday on Saturday night...and a wonderful time was had by all.

We spent time with the our gorgeous twins while their mummy sorted out a health problem on Tuesday night...we had a lovely time together making pom poms.

We spent some time with these gorgeous boys Wednesday evening and here they are all ready for their summer holidays in France....I hope they have a wonderful time.

Our clematis is blooming to it's heart's content this week and I just had to share it with you.

I made 4 Memory bears for a returning customer this week and that always makes me smile but when they came to collect the 7 year old little girl greeted me with these beautiful flowers and a big hug...and that really made me smile.

I'm hoping this video works for you.  Louie discovered his shadow this week and it made us all giggle.

Of course I had to find you a few funnies too.  I hope they make you smile and you have lots of smiles you can share with us by linking up at the bottom of the page.

WOYWW....

Happy Wednesday to you all.  I've had a lovely productive week again....I've had several customers and have filled the rest of  my week using up more out of the fabric box [otherwise known as the magic porrige pot because it doesn't seem to be getting any less :-)] and had lots of fun creating all sorts that I hope will sell and make lots of money for The Harry Johnson trust.

I made a batch of glasses cases.

I made 3 quilted fabric boxes and have now added 4 buttons on each ...and have already sold the middle one and one of the reversible bags :-)

I then got creative and made some key rings.

First batch are 4 little houses.

Then I made 4 little floral ones and I plan to make a few more different ones....I'm loving being creative.

I hope you have enjoyed my makes and will leave me a little message [more ideas always welcome].  I will pop over to yours as soon as I can.  I hope you all have a great week.

Hugs,

This week's smiles....week 489

It was with great sadness that I read the news that Lisca's hubby, Graham, had died.  He was such a lovely man and I had the pleasure to meet him in  real life when they both called in to see me a few years back.  My love and  thoughts go out to our friend Lisca and their family.

Of course you are here to share my smiles and although I have had a heavy heart at  times I have got smiles ....

On Wednesday we had a little visitor for an hour or so after school until his Daddy picked him up.  We don't see him often now he's a big school boy so it was so lovely to have some crafty fun together....he' s growing up so fast.

I was up at 6.30 yesterday and spent a long day sewing because I had so much to do. By 4.30 I was shattered and was drawing curtains and shutting up shop for the day when I had a knock at my door.  One of my customers had brought me this gorgeous bunch of flowers and thank you card...it reduced me to tears.

It's so lovely when you feel appreciated isn't it?

Of course it wouldn't be a Friday without a few funnies. I hope you have something to share with us today and will link up below.

This week's smiles...week 473

Another week has flown by and it's been another one filled with smiles...

Last Sunday Mark and Gina had a wedding to go to and no children were invited [apart from breast feeding babies] so Theo came to us for the day...and what a lovely day we had.  He really loves crafting with us so the table was filled with stash and we had a fun time.

Gina had managed to express some of her milk so I was able to feed Louie on one of their visits...there's nothing quite like that close up feeling with a baby....he feeds well from a bottle so it's lovely that daddy is able to experience that closeness from time to time.

I was treated to a bunch of flowers by one of my customers this week...it's so special when they go above and beyond being grateful for what I do....they were just too pretty to not share them with you.

We have had a new greenhouse this week and after hubby built it in the garden he has now filled it with our tomatoes.  I love being able to potter in a greenhouse...it's only 4'x6' but that's plenty big enough in our little garden.

Talking of the garden...here's the latest collage of our garden flowers.  Just look at the size of the Peony blooms now...they are soooooo heavy too.

And finally I'm finishing off with some funnies.  I really hope you all have a wonderful week filled with smiles and can share some of yours by linking up below.

This week's smiles....week 451

Here we are at another round up of smiles for the week.  It really does me good to focus on the smiles I've had during the week...it's like a therapy when life gets difficult.  I know there are many who like to read the happy posts and several like to share their smiles so why not join in too?  Everyone is welcome.  Lets all do our bit to make the world a happier place to be.

The garden outside is all looking rather shabby now.  The frost has taken the flowers and many of the leaves have now dropped so I thought I'd share my orchids with you. The top two little pots have new little plants growing that I took off the pink one....and I've already given two away.  On the left you can see I have another flower shoot growing and the other plants keep giving with gorgeous blooms....I love them.

I've been given these gorgeous flowers this week and they are just too pretty to not share them with you all....hope they make you smile too.

Theo enjoyed a trip with his mum and dad to fetch their Christmas tree this week.  They went to a local place that allows you to choose your tree and actually cut it down yourself...and what fun they had.

I really love the photo of Mark lifting him up to put the star on the top of their tree and the gorgeous family photo of them all together.

I hope you have all enjoyed my smiles and will leave me a little comment so I know you've called in and will then link your smiles below.

This week's smiles....week 405

We've got through another week of lockdown and I'm still smiling....I hope you are too.

There are signs of Spring popping up in every corner of our garden and that is definitely something to smile about....I love Spring.

I've had flowers through the post this week and that really made me smile.  I love freesias especially and even had them in my Wedding bouquet a few years back.

Life in lockdown for the family is far from easy when homeschooling has to be fitted in with full time work but I am really loving the photos I am being sent....This is my baby boy with his baby boy :-)

And finally here's a few of the funnies that have had me chuckling this week...I hope they will make you smile too.

I hope you are all keeping busy doing things you enjoy and are keeping safe and well.  I'm sure we can all see the light in the tunnel now so just keep smiling and we will get there.

This week's smiles.....week 343

Oh what a week it's been.  My birthday was on Wednesday and I'm still enjoying a week of celebrations.

Tuesday morning was an early start for us with our little man coming for breakfast and, as always, it was filled with smiles including this one....

Guess what he had for lunch?.........yes tomato soup and he says it's his favourite.  I've never known a little boy to enjoy his meals so much....filled with every fruit and veg you can imagine :-)

Jo took me to the theatre on Tuesday night to see Cabaret and within 5 mins of sitting down there was a totally naked man walking across the stage....I did wonder what we had come to see but I have to say it was brilliant if rather dark by the end and nights out like together are something Jo and I decided that we need more of ....but naked men aren't compulsory Jo :-)

Wednesday was 'the day' and I was spoilt rotten.  My day ended with a meal out with my gorgeous hubby at Cote Brasserie.....just perfect.

Amy and family bought me flowers and they are so gorgeous I just had to share them with you.

Amy also sent me this photo and it made me chuckle.  Their oldest dog Poppy just loves the sheep in their field and everywhere she goes the sheep follow....I'm not sure whether they think she is one of them.  :-)

Yesterday was eventful day, starting a 6 am when Shell woke us, by phone, not feeling well at all and she was feeling very faint, giddy headed and panicky.  She was alone in the house with the twins as her hubby was working away and thought she was going to pass out.  After ringing the emergency care number it was decided that, with her medical history after she had the twins, she should be seen at the hospital.  I took her in and Grandad stayed on school duties with the twins. Then followed several hours being passed from one medical professional to another and she had every test available.....I was very impressed on her treatment [and mine when I got the shakes having not eaten or taken my diabetic tablets with having such and early start!]  Thankfully by the end of it they decided it was very probably vertigo and she was discharged with meds into the care of her loving Mum and Dad.  She isn't allowed to work or drive until she's feeling better so she spent the day with us and the twins joined us after school....hence the photo of the two little monkeys playing with the play house.

I'm hoping that by this morning Shell is now feeling a lot better.  It's our son Mark's birthday today so we will be partying it tonight.....happy days.

This week's smiles....week 307

It's been a busy week here at Sewing by Annie's and that always makes me smile.  My 7 special bears are now finished and I will share a pic of them on Wednesday [if I remember]....they are being delivered on Sunday so I'm really hoping they are loved as much as I enjoyed making them.....I actually think they are my favourite bears I've made to date.

I seem to be surrounded by smiles this week so here's a few I can share with you....

Give children a cardboard box and they will amuse themselves for hours.....Shell said this one was the hub of activity and had evolved by the minute.....it had security codes for the door, TV screen, World map, Ice cream machine and dog kennel at this point.

I love to see how they use their imagination.....that's got to make you smile.

I have flowers everywhere making me smile.....these were just a couple of bunches of alstroemeria I picked up at the supermarket but aren't they stunning now the blooms have opened up?

Two of my orchid plants have sent out new flower shoots and this week they both opened up.....I love my orchids.  They almost look too good to be real don't they?

From where I sit in my sewing room I am able to watch the snowdrops shooting up and blooming...they are so pretty.

Plus all the daffodils on our front garden are now shooting up and the blooms on these ones will be soon be opening up.....Spring won't be long now folks.

That little lot has kept me smiling this week even though I have a cough and my asthma is playing up....I guess I'm just keeping in fashion with so many at the mo.  I think we all need the warm sunshine and lighter days now.  Please share your smiles by linking them up below.....anyone can join in....the more the merrier cos I'm sure we can never have too many smiles.

WOYWW....

It's been a week of partying and celebrations here for me.... My 60th was on Monday and it's my son Mark's 30th birthday today.  I've been spoilt rotten and we still have a 80s/90s fancy dress party for my son to come yet.

I had party with all my family and many of my close friends last Sunday tea time and I was made to feel very special....many thanks to all who sent me cards and birthday messages.  I'm sharing the gorgeous oil painting my hubby had done for me of a certain little special friend of mine....simply because I love it and know many of you will appreciate the talent of the artist....he's a local artist called Andy McIntyre of McIntyre Studios and I must say he is one very talented man.  He's not only got a perfect likeness but he's managed to get her character into the painting....

I'm also sharing the gorgeous flowers my youngest daughter and her hubby sent me....because they are just too gorgeous to keep them all to myself....they are just all my fav colours.

There's not a lot on my desk this week because as you can imagine I've not had a lot of time for sewing but.....

I did make these new design tooth fairy pillows on Monday as a special request and have already sold two of them and....

...having had a visit from two very special little brownies yesterday I will be sewing their badges on today.

So there you go....I've shown you mine now if you leave me a little comment to say you've called by I will do my best to pop over to see what you've been up to this week.

This week's smiles....week 238

Hello all.  It was so lovely to see so many of you calling in and leaving me such lovely comments last week.  Not all of you linked to your own smiles but it makes it all worth while just to know you've called by.  Many thanks to those who also shared their own smiles...I really love seeing what is making you happy each week.

I've had another busy week filled with smiles so here's my catch up for you....

Saturday afternoon my darling hubby went to watch our local footy team....[Shrewsbury Town and they are top of the league still so he had lots to smile about too].  I had these three little visitors come with their mummy and that much older sister of mine came too as her hubby also goes to the footy.  We all had a good catch up and here you can see the children playing cards together....they are such lovely little people and play so well together.
The girls arrived with a home made thank you card they had made together and this gorgeous bunch of flowers for me for spending time with them and making the Barbie doll clothes for them.
The flowers have made me smile every time I look at them so I just had to share them with you all.

Tuesday afternoon I had little Theo come to play for the afternoon while his mummy was at a staff meeting at the school she teaches at.  While he was here we also had a visit from the twins on their way home from school...I missed to snap a pic of them all but it's always lovely to watch the little ones all playing together.

Our little Lulu is starting guitar lessons at school.  As you can see she isn't much bigger than the guitar but what makes me smile most is that it's the guitar my mum and dad bought for me and they would both be so thrilled to see her playing with it.

I'm so easily pleased when it comes to materials as you know.

Tuesday morning Jo and I popped to our local material shop and I stocked up on the iron on interfacings I use to stabilise my Memory bears with....nothing pretty about it but it means I can enjoy making more special memories for my customers and I will enjoy that.

I was contacted by a friend this week to see if I could make some doggy bandannas so, even though my fabric boxes are full of course I didn't have anything suitable.  I sent a message to Cabin Crafts on Facebook and straight away Denise sent me pics of the fabrics she had, I paid for them via Paypal and she posted them to me the next morning.....what a brilliant service.  She comes highly recommended.....Aren't they just perfect too?

And if you're still not smiling then here's a selfie from Milly.  If I'm engrossed in my sewing and she needs my attention then she jumps up onto my knee between me and my desk as you can see here so I snapped her pic for you.  She's such a gorgeous little thing....that is when she hasn't been digging in the one bit of wet muddy garden we've got like she did yesterday!!!! ....She needed a bath......enough said 😁😁😁

That's my round up of smiles for this week.  Please leave me a little message so I know you've called in and if you can then link up to your own smiles below.  Have a happy and fun filled week.

WOYWW.....

Hello all.  I've got lots to share with you today cos it's been a busy, productive week here at Sewing by Annie's so here goes....

Having, eventually, sold my industrial sewing machine I have now bought a new table to go where it stood in my sewing room and have set it up for my embellishing machine....it had stood pretty much neglected under it's dust cover since we moved houses and to be honest I had forgotten the pleasure had by using it.  I really enjoyed making these little note book covers.....a bit of dumfing [check R.side bar if you don't know what this is], some machine embroidery and a few beads and hey presto......

I then looked at my full to overflowing box of scrap fabrics and decided to use some of them.  I chose colours that toned/matched and made two pieces of crazy patchwork, embellished it with machine embroidery and....

....made two fabric book covers with it.

These little owls were another idea I made as little gifts suitable for teachers at the end of the school year....They are little paperweights and used up more of my fabric scraps.....I do have rather a lot of fabric scraps don't I?

The rest of the week I have been making more of my Memory bears.  I feel very honoured helping grieving families by using special items of clothing to remember much loved members of their families.

These three were made from a much loved husband and father's trousers, scarf and coat lining and the little red ear on each of them is a little fabric taken from a hat that was his all time favourite......it was very special for me to learn a little of the character of the man before I incorporated some into the three bears.

This one was made in memory of a much loved dad and it was by special request that I added the buttons on the front.....I rather like this effect don't you?  The pinstriped grey on the right side was from his trousers he had worn at his wedding.

There you go....sorry I took so long this week but I knew some of you would want to see what I've been up to.  Please leave me a little comment to let me know you've called by and I will do my best to pay you a return visit.  I do read all the blogs but am unable to leave comments on some....sorry.
Hugs,
Annie x
