Life is good here at Sewing by Annie's at the mo. Sewing for customers is steadily coming and in between jobs I have been filling my time with sewing for me....It's what I do and it makes me smile. We are keeping up the 3x a week visits to the gym for now...the 14 week course ends on Feb 14th and sadly they are asking for over £800 for the next 12 months which isn't something we can manage so we are planning to keep up the exercise in other ways....commit to a good walk at least 3x a week will be a good start.
My photos this week have been mainly of my Luna Lapin rabbits and here's the latest now completed...
He's now wearing his jeans, fully lined waistcoat and shirt.....and looking rather pleased with himself too.
Each item of clothing is like making a miniature version of the real thing...the shirt has a box pleat in the back and a double yoke just like a man's shirt. The instructions are not very clear [even for this experienced sewer] so there has been much reading and rereading before it's clear what to do next but I have really enjoyed the challenge.
I've now ordered more felt in three other colours so watch this space....there will be more rabbits in the making very soon.
I saw this on Pinterest and it described moments of my week perfectly so thought I should share it with you.
There were moments of this too :-)
But mostly this describes me. I'm so blessed to be doing a job that brings me so much happiness.
And finally for all you animal lovers out there I thought I'd share these photos that Shell sent me of little Jet settling in with their 3 legged cat Monty. There have been a few 'moments' between them but mostly Jet has made herself very comfortable in her new home and has made friends with Monty.
I hope something I've shared has made you smile and you will now share your week's smiles with me by linking them below.
Hugs,
Annie x

Hi Annie. Loving the Happiness cartoon, brilliant and the bunnies are perfect. Nice to see the puppy and the kitty getting on so well, shows it's possible for cats and dogs to live together. I've got lots of great pics to show you of our time away but for now we're finishing the holiday and getting ready to go back. It's been a crazy two weeks with loads of snow on the runs and beautiful weather, not a single day off and the sun has not let us down either but not sure it will be so nice in the UK. For now sending hugs, Angela xxx
Good morning Annie
Well fancy you being at the gym, so am I. Something I never thought I’d be saying. But as it’s at the same place as my physiotherapist and Pilates class it seemed to be a natural progression and I’ve surprised myself in how much I like it. No fancy Lycra or looking in the mirror young things in there though, only us oldies in general so I think that helps as we all like a natter as we go round.
I’m loving the bunnies and little jet and Monty look like they’re going to be firm friends.
Have a great weekend
Lynn xx
Well done you for sticking with the gym. 800 pounds a year is a lot though. I pay 10 euros a month and go 3x a week (a group with a teacher). You could buy a fitbit or similar to count your paces so you make sure you get your 10000 steps a day. It encourages one more than anything. And think about a Pilates class. There is bound to be one in your neighbourhood. My husband and I used to go to Pilates together when we were in the UK. I have an old Wii with Wiifit on it and I do the exercises with that when the gym closes for the summer. Whatever you do, don't stop now you have started. You'll feel much better.
Mr Rabbit is looking very smart indeed. What fun!I'm so glad sewing makes you happy. Your whole blogpost oozes happiness and that makes me smile.
Jet and Monty make a fine couple. I'm glad they are getting along (more or less)
Have a lovely weekend,
Hugs,
Lisca
Those cute rabbits look like a lot of work Annie, but as you say, it is what you enjoy doing so...
That gym fee is a bit steep, but you have been so good up to now. I really admire your efforts, and it will soon be spring which is the perfect time to get into regular walks.
I smiled at Jet and Monty together. My cats never settle that close to the dogs.
I also smiled at the idea of a confused chameleon.
I hope you have plenty to smile about this week too. Kate xx
Hi Annie, there can be nothing better than doing a job you actually enjoy! That cartoon certainly sums you up perfectly. Love boy rabbit's new shirt - he's looking absolutely super now. Looking forward to what you do with the new felt when it arrives. The kitten photos are gorgeous - the animals look very settled together. Oh, and the senility quote - so true, so true. Have a lovely weekend. Hugs, Ellie xx
Late today as we were at the hospital for a few ours seeing about Norrie's sore leg. I love all the quotes and plead guilty to them all. I actually got the Luna Lapin book out today and hope to motivate myself to at least try to make one as I love hand stitching. Happy weekend. X
