WOYWW....

Another week has passed and the sewing keeps coming...thankfully.   I've still had spare time so have been frog making this week.

I'm going to start this week with a smile.....

My Amaryllis has continued to make me smile when the third stalk opened up with yet another 4 blooms...so 12 in total.  Not bad for something I felt sorry for at Aldis...it's repaid me in full.

I decided to try out a couple of different patterns to make the frogs for the charity this time and made 3 like this which I rather like and....

....two like this [so far]....I like this pattern most because it's more like the frog Harry drew before he died.  There will be more made like this one.

That's all from me for this week.  I will pop over to see what you've been up to so please leave me a message if you call by.

WOYWW.....

Hello all.  I heard from Neet yesterday and she could tell be she is now back in hospital having had an accident at home so please send her lots of healing wishes.  I really hope she is back home soon.

I've had a lovely week since we spoke last Wednesday.

Do you remember me telling you that I had bought the last amaryllis in Aldis?  Well it is now repaying me in full.  The first of the three stems has 4 blooms, the second stem now also has 4 beautiful blooms and the third stem is now starting to open up....I wonder how many blooms that one will have?

Our Sunday afternoon was spent being proud Grandparents.
Firstly we went to watch Lexi dancing in a competition and what a beautiful little dancer she is now.

Then we rushed to Theatre Severn to watch Sam in Dare to Dream Jr.
He had to sing a solo [emotional moments]....and he has a beautiful voice.
There was over 30 youngsters performing and there were some really beautiful voices amongst them.

I have made 8 little rabbit bags filled with chocolate eggs for the charity.

I have also used a piece of fabric that Jan sent us to make this lovely quilt for the charity...fabric well used Jan, so thank so much for sharing with us.

I made these two beautiful bears yesterday.  One of my customers gave me the piece of beautiful Indian fabric to make a bear out of so I made two and intend to give her one of them as a thank you.

I am making another Memory bear today so that will bring me to just 12 from 1000 bears...exciting times.

I will do my best to pop over to yours later.

WOYWW.....

Hello all.  I hope you've all had a good week.  I haven't had many customers this week but enough to keep me ticking over.  Of course I've not been sat doing nothing.....

I found something I fancied making and it needed lots of little squares cutting out so I set to and worked out how many I needed from the pattern I'd cut out.  I  found lots of pretty fabrics and covered my sewing machine table in colour.

I spent last Wednesday patching together the pieces and then made this cute Easter rabbit....I was rather pleased with it even though it didn't look quite the same as it was on the picture even though I'd printed off the pattern supplied.

Yesterday, I finished making these 8 bowl cosies...each one is different with a different lining to the outers.  Jo wants a couple of these and the rest will go to make money for the charity.

We've bought a new soup maker this week.....I've always made soup using a pressure cooker then blitzed it with a hand held liquidiser ...lots of time, effort and mess needed.
I'm loving the soup maker and, having spent a few days with a sore mouth post my dental extraction, I really enjoyed both of these soups...the top one was broccoli and stilton and the lower one was tomato and vegetable.....yum yum.

A few weeks ago I took sympathy on the last amaryllis in Aldis when we shopped.  It has now rewarded me by sprouting three flower shoots....I've never had one with three before so I'm really looking foward to it blooming now.

It's not a clear photo but my snowdrops have now started blooming....this always makes me smile.  Spring is on it's way.  Yahooooooo

That's all from me for this week. If you leave me a little message so I know you've called by I will pop over to yours to see what you've been up to this week.  I hope it's been a good one for you.

This week's smiles.....week 362

Hello all.  I'm so sorry I was away last week....but it wasn't of my choosing.  My internet  was down and boy did I miss it.....thankfully it's all fixed now and we have been offered a month free as compensation for the poor quality we had had since the installation.....So now I'm smiling again :-)

I'm sharing a couple of pics I had ready for last week and this week's smiles...

This has to make you smile....it certainly has had me smiling.

I love the bright red colour of my amaryllis...Thanks Shell xx

Mark, Gina and the boys went to West Midland Safari park in the half term holidays and shared a few photos with me....Louie wasn't impressed with Bluey :-) :-)

Sam had to make his outfit to go back to school with....he was to be a Fyrd which was the name given to the army of Harold Godwinson.....it was made up of freeman or paidmen who would fight for the King of short durations and you usually had to supply your own weapons.  This was to be used in the Battle of Hastings....and yes I did have to look it up :-)

I just love how creative he is and how hard he works.

Lexi loves Sushi and she even likes to make her own....I prefer my fish cooked lol.

We had little visitors at the weekend and Louie was really facinated in how his Grandad was fitting the ironing board to the top of my new trolley with hinges.....I'm sure he will be just like his Grandad and Daddy who turn their hand to anything.

Theo was keen to learn what stitches he could sew on my sewing machine and even learnt how to type in and write his name on it :-)

He next wants to learn how to make a tricky marble maze....watch this space  :-)

Of course it wouldn't be a Friday without a few funnies...I hope something here makes you chuckle and you will leave me a little message before linking up to your own smiles below.

This week's smiles....week 457

Happy Friday to one and all.  I have lots to smile about this week because I am now feeling more myself and have had lots of sewing to do to keep me busy....and it's so lovely to feel up to doing it all.

We had a visit from a young lady that 30 years ago I childminded at just 6 weeks old from 8 in the morning to 6 at night....she really was part of the family.  She very proudly came to show us her gorgeous baby boy and it was so lovely to see what a lovely little mummy she has become.....special memories were made.

I'm sharing the gorgeous flowers we have in our living room window now.  The Amaryllis has now bloomed....its over 30" tall and there are 4 huge blooms...aren't they stunning?

One of my orchids has decided to bloom too...it has lots of huge white blooms too.

The garden is full of promise...lots of bulbs are shooting up now.  I love this time of year.

Finally I saw this funny on Facebook and it made me chuckle....I hope it does you too.

That's my lot for this week.  Please share your smiles by linking up below and have a great week.

This week's smiles....week 455

It's been another week of slow progress in our recovery from this awful Winter bug but thankfully my workload has been steady and I have managed to get it all done allowing for R and R each afternoon.

I have a couple of pics to share with you because there is always something that makes me smile....

Although Theo is rather pale faced he's not been too bad in himself having tested positive for Covid this week....just look at the mischief in that face.

Gina has been isolating with Covid this week and I have been having a few on line lessons with her while she has been following U-tube instructions on how to crochet.  We have had lots of giggles while she worked on getting her tension right but I'm so proud to say she has persevered and has mastered the art of crochet....onward and upward from here I feel.  I really love the flowers she has made.  I think the idea is she will crochet some hats and baby booties next so watch this space.  :-)

I'm sharing my pic of the Amaryllis Jo bought me.  It really didn't start off looking very healthy as the leaves came through looking really scabby but just as we were thinking of returning it to the garden centre it decided to send a flower shoot up.  Jo's plant has 2 flower shoots and 9 blooms all looking stunning now but my flower shoot is still reaching for the stars....it's now 28" from the top of the bulb and I'm really hoping it decides to flower before the it reaches the attic.

That's all from me for this week.  I hope you're all managing to stay well and happy and have lots of smiles to share with us this week.

Hugs,

This week's smiles....week 453

I'm here to share a few smiles with you even though to be honest I'm not feeling much like smiling.  I've got a Winter bug and have been coughing and running high temps since Boxing day. I wasn't here last week because we were making memories with our lovely family so I felt that, even if I did nothing else I must come to add the link for everyone else today.

I do have a few quick pics to share with you...

This is my baby boy all dressed up ready for his work's Christmas party.....Father Christmas offered to carry him round for the night :-)

One of my favourite Christmas presents was this amazing jigsaw made from the photo of all my Grandchildren at Theo's birthday party....I love it.

This really made me smile.....Jo gave me this amaryllis before Christmas.  It was one of two she bought and the one she kept has 2 huge flower stalks. Mine had only produced several scabby leaves so Jo offered to take it back and swap it. Whilst we were enjoying family times on Christmas eve and Christmas day this little shoot had sprung up....I think it had heard it was destined for the scrap pile....its now much bigger and is obviously making up for lost time.

Finally, but by no means least, is my pic of the little cardy I've knitted for Theo's new little brother when he arrives.  I imagine many of you will know that my arthritic hands are often too painful to knit so this has been very slow progress but what an achievenent eh?  I'm so chuffed I managed to finish it.

That's me for this week....I'm really hoping this bug moves on soon so I feel rather more like blogging next week.  I actually sat in my chair to sleep last night as lying down I couldn't stop coughing.

A very Happy and healthy new year to you all.

Hugs,

This week's smiles....week 206

Where do these week's go?  The days seem shorter and I think someone pinches a day each week for me....how about you?  It only seems 5 mins since I was looking for smiles to share with your last week.

First let me thank the 5 of you who shared their smiles with us last week.  I really do appreciate your help in doing our bit to make the world a happier place to be .....you can never have too many smiles can you?

I am sharing just a couple of photos this week.....I did try to snap my little snowdrops that are starting to bloom on the lawn but you couldn't see them clear enough to share them so maybe by next week they will have grown big enough so you can see them.

My first share is a floral one though.  Just look at my gorgeous amaryllis [Mark and Gina bought it me for my birthday back in October so it's been a long time coming but is soooooo worth the wait].  I've had many of these over the years ...usually with one stem but occasionally with two but this one has three stems.  The first to bloom has 4 flower heads and the second has 4 more just starting to open.  I'm not sure how many the third stem is going to have yet but isn't it stunning?  The blooms are the darkest red and look just like velvet....I love it and it makes me smile every time I look at it.

My next pic of of Milly watching her fav programme of the week on the telly.  It's the one on BBC1 on a Tuesday night with the spy cameras on the animals and she just loves it.  I'm really not sure what she thinks she would do if it was real crocodile but she sure makes us chuckle and we end up watching her each week more than the telly.

That's all I'm sharing this week so please leave me a little message so I know you've called by and if you can please link up your own smiles too.
Hugs,
