This week's smiles....week 453

I'm here to share a few smiles with you even though to be honest I'm not feeling much like smiling.  I've got a Winter bug and have been coughing and running high temps since Boxing day. I wasn't here last week because we were making memories with our lovely family so I felt that, even if I did nothing else I must come to add the link for everyone else today.

I do have a few quick pics to share with you...

This is my baby boy all dressed up ready for his work's Christmas party.....Father Christmas offered to carry him round for the night :-)

One of my favourite Christmas presents was this amazing jigsaw made from the photo of all my Grandchildren at Theo's birthday party....I love it.

This really made me smile.....Jo gave me this amaryllis before Christmas.  It was one of two she bought and the one she kept has 2 huge flower stalks. Mine had only produced several scabby leaves so Jo offered to take it back and swap it. Whilst we were enjoying family times on Christmas eve and Christmas day this little shoot had sprung up....I think it had heard it was destined for the scrap pile....its now much bigger and is obviously making up for lost time.

Finally, but by no means least, is my pic of the little cardy I've knitted for Theo's new little brother when he arrives.  I imagine many of you will know that my arthritic hands are often too painful to knit so this has been very slow progress but what an achievenent eh?  I'm so chuffed I managed to finish it.

That's me for this week....I'm really hoping this bug moves on soon so I feel rather more like blogging next week.  I actually sat in my chair to sleep last night as lying down I couldn't stop coughing.

A very Happy and healthy new year to you all.

Hugs,

Annie x

This week's smiles....week 274

Here we are at yet another round up of the week's smiles.  I love spending just a little time each week focusing on what's made me smile and sharing it, hoping my smiles make others smile too.

Little Theo never fails to make me smile....

Here he is posing in the new cardigan his Great Aunty Jo knit for him.  I bought the wool and provided the buttons so it was a real joint venture but as you can tell little Theo was very pleased with the results so it was well worth the effort....and you know what a brilliant team that big sister of mine and I make.

He's enjoying a few days away with his Mummy and Nonna and Taid as Nanny is Italian and Grandad is Welsh.  They are having a wonderful time enjoying the sunshine...alas Daddy has to work but hopes to catch up with them at the weekend.

Gina sent me these photos yesterday.  They were visiting a big farm with a collection of mini beasts [or not so mini!!].  Theo always loves anything that crawls and has no problem at all in handling them all as you can see .....but I do think his mummy deserves a medal cos I would be hiding away at a good distance.

I popped out to snap a few pics of the latest flowers in the garden yesterday while the sun was out.  My intention was to snap the weigelas on our front garden but when I got out there I was suddenly aware they were covered in bumble bees of all sizes and sorts so I've done my best to snap a few for you.  I know there are many types of bees and can say there were many different ones out there yesterday.....none of which were keen on sitting still for me to snap.

That's all my smiles for today so please leave me a little hello comment and if you can then share your own smiles by linking up below.
Hugs,

WOYWW....

Firstly I want to say just how thrilled I was to hear Julia's op went well and she was discharged from hospital over the weekend....but that means home to rest!! Of course we want you back to normal life Julia [what ever that is] as soon as possible but I'm sure it will take time of rest to allow your body to heal and recover so listen to your body and don't be tempted to do too much too soon.  We will all be rooting for you my friend and sending you lots of healing hugs.

Now onto my desk......

As promised last week....here is a quick snap of the bunting I was making.  It has now arrived with Joshua and his mummy says he loves it....I'm just hoping the bit of Annie's magic I sewed into it will help with the awful treatment he has to have.

Another finished project to share...a little cardigan for my expected grandson when he arrives.

And finally.....last but by no means least.  Here are the gorgeous ATCs I've received for the 7th year anniversary swap.  Aren't they all just gorgeous?  I'm still ooing and awwwing over them but will make a book/folder to put them all in together when the last ones arrive.  Thank you so much to each and every one of you who wanted to swap.....I really to treasure your friendship.

Hugs,

WOYWW....

Another week of birthday celebrations for us.  Our twinnie munchkins were two last Friday and we have enjoyed lots of 'family together' times to celebrate.  Flat Susan was here to join in the celebrations and had  great time but is now enjoying a rest in her suitcase while flying over to the USA [see prev post].

Life here is busy, as always.  That's how I like it  :-)  I had the 'partied out' twinnies here to play with me Monday and Tuesday and we enjoyed chill out time......who am I joking?  2 year old twins?  Chilled out???  NEVER!!!  We certainly had a fun time.

I guess you're really here to see my desk thanks to Julia insisting I show it you  :-)

Well, here it is...

Yes I can do messy :-)

Lots of pink on show for an urgently needed little something...

Ribbon jar overflowing to find more pink.

All to make an urgently needed little tooth fairy pillow for Phoebe.....yes, she has lost her first baby tooth and the second is well on it's way!  Oh how quickly they grow up.

The writing is still wet  in the picture but looks much nicer now it's dry.  It has a little pocket across the corner to put her tooth in.

I'm also making a quilt for the next baby expected in the family...due next month [for a neice].  I'm just hand stitching around the little animals/birds etc in the middle to quilt it and finish it off.

Also got a little cardigan on the go for the expected baby too....we don't know what it is yet so I'm knitting a white one  :-)

So, as you can see, I've not been idle since you visited last week.....oh and have fitted in another viewing on the house and got to negotiation stages on sales....lets hope there is good news to share soon.

Until next week....lets hope you all have fun.
Big hugs,
Annie x

WOYWW

Hello all.  We have had a strange thing up in the sky here for a day or two...it's big, yellow and very bright....if anyone has any idea what it is please send answers on a postcard  :-) :-)

Doesn't it make you feel better when it's warmer and not raining?  I'm sorry to say it wasn't like this on Saturday morning while we had our sale....It was very cold and very damp so we put chairs in the front of our garage so folk could enjoy their coffee in there  :-)  It was lovely to see a lot of old friends but alas many were missing due to becoming too old and frail and suffering ill health. Old age rarely comes alone I'm sorry to say.

I've had another busy week with lots of customers and for those wondering I am now up to 1170...I actually had 6 more new customers last week!  The business is really booming even though I put my prices up a little from the beginning of April this year...the first increase in 3 years!  I like to check with other businesses in the area before putting up my prices and for 5 jobs that I do regularly that I had been charging £55 for they were charging £103 in Shrewsbury.....I guess that's why I have lots of customers eh?

So? What is on my desk this week?

The simple answer is....... lots......... but not a lot I can share with you just yet  :-)

.....But I will say my little box of ATCs is filling....Jo and I had a creative Funday Monday making a few more for the 3rd Birthday celebrations next week.  I would love to, not only send one to my pay it forward WOYWWer, but am happy to, do a swap with any of the wonderful friends I have made during the last three years so please email me with your details if you fancy swapping with me.

I've finished two of the little dolls for the twins....and they love them  :-)

I'm still only able to knit for short spells before my hands ache but I've managed to finish Lexi's latest cardigan.   :-)
I do love Crofter baby wool.

That's all I can share with you today so please leave me a little 'hello' message before you pop over to Julia's to join in the WOYWW fun and I will do my best to pay you a return visit. Don't forget to email me with your address if you fancy swapping ATCs next week for our birthday celebrations [in addition to the pass it forward one of course].  I feel so very blessed to have made so many wonderful friends in the last 3 years so it would be really fab if some of you would like to swap with me.
