WOYWW...

Hello all...I've been at it again!  Between all the sewing jobs that are now coming through my door I've been making more face masks only this time they are for Christmas...and yes they are selling well already! So I've restocked them already and this is the second batch...

As I look at it the need for wearing face masks isn't going away anytime soon so we may as well wear something that will put a smile on a few faces....and it seems many think like me so I will be making more of these.
I am still making other masks to order as demand for those is much less now.

I am still making more Memory Bears...this one is for a child from the school close to us....I love seeing the pleasure each bear gives....there's a lot of love in the making of each one.

I have also...
  • Taken in 3 dresses for Gina who has lost a lot of weight.
  • Patched and darned a pair of working trousers for Mark.
  • Taken in a top for a customer and
  • Recovered a bed head for the same customer.
There's never 2 weeks the same here :-)
Hugs,
Annie x

Busy as ever I see Annie. The Christmas masks are a great idea. My parents have already cancelled the usual large family get together for CHristmas at their house this year (very sensible). Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #?

Love the idea of seasonal masks! Like you, I think masks are a thing for a long tome to come, so these will be great! When you say ‘recovered a bed head’, just for a split second I thought you’d been using dressmaker’s shears to help out some messy hair!😂 good for Gina too, most handy to have you to help her keep her favourite wardrobe pieces!

Morning Annie. My goodness - you just never stop, do you?! Love the idea of using Christmas fabric already. I admit - I wished someone a happy Christmas the other day... I was shopping for some friends in Home Bargains, and there, as you entered the store, was the array of Christmas trees, baubles, lights... better than an array of Hallowe'en stuff!
Take care. God bless.

Always a welcomed sight to see your Memory bears Annie, i've been sorting Christmas fabrics for face masks too. Amazing how everyone has adapted to wearing them. Stay safe & well and Happy WoywW Tracey #6

The bed head sounds intriguing - did you make a slip cover for it or do the whole upholstery job on it? The masks have gone to a good place and the teacher was thrilled with them for her school - thank you again xxxxxxxx

Me again! This is the link:

The one thing I would say is that this works for small to medium faces, I added an extra centimetre to width and height.

Have fun!

Glad the sewing is helping you make a living Annie. What a great idea the Christmas themed masks are. From what I have read fabric masks are only good for about 30 washes, cannot work that one out as to why? Plus how do you keep track of how many washes your masks have had? We have 10 masks between us with me having an extra one that someone had made for me. I don't want that one to ever wear out as I love the fabric so much (it's the toucans on my avatar).
Stay safe and sewing

Hi Annie, I think you're right and the need for masks is not going away any time soon. Those seasonal masks are going to be popular - everyone will need a bit of fun in their lives come December. We look as though we're heading for another lockdown here though I really hope it doesn't come to that. Hugs to you and Did. Ellie x #18

I love the Christmas masks! That's a new way to be festive ~ Maybe you can make an ugly Christmas mask instead of the famous ugly/tacky Christmas sweater?!? Enjoy the week

Hi Annie, I think you are right in that masks are going to be needed for quite a while, and fully agree we might as well wear nice ones that put a smile on a face. I had a vision to make some little ones for the boys with shark teeth ... but not quite got there yet. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #11
