WOYWW...

Here we are at another WOYWW and there aren't many left now before the big day so it's a hustle and bustle of activities here at Sewing by Annie's.  I've had lots of pending orders and several have said they are coming but that's the last I hear from them.  I have messaged them, they read their messages and then never reply....is it just me or have proper manners simply gone out of the window?  I was taught, as a child that if someone spoke to me it was rude to ignore them but it seems that it doesn't apply to the Internet....or am I just becoming a grumpy old woman?

Enough of my grumping....sorry but I do feel a little better now I've shared it and at the end of the day you are my friends you know :-)

So here's a few quick shares for today....

The little stockings you saw all cut out have now been mounted onto what I hope is my last batch of cards for this year.  I rather like this simple design.

Here's the latest pair of Memory bears for the few who don't follow me on Facebook [for those that don't...it's worth popping over there and getting your name in my Christmas Draw ...you might be lucky to win my Christmas bear].

Here's what I call a 'silk purse out of a sows ear' sort of job.  My customer had [badly] cut out 3 of the 4 stockings and then decided she wanted them lining and a cuff making for the top in the white fleece fabric but that she had bitten off more than she could chew so brought them to me to make them for her
She had cut a square out of the fleece so there wasn't enough left to line them with so I had to line them with curtain lining and just use the fleece to make the cuffs with.

If I'd made them from scratch I would have tried to get the check a little more in line with them all but I couldn't change what was already cut ....I'm pleased to say she was thrilled with them and that's all that really matters isn't it?

That's all from me for today.  I will do my best to pop over to see what you've been up to when I get a minute.
Hugs,
Annie x

You're not on your own about the lack of manners - I am the female equivalent of Victor Meldrew occasionally!!! The little stockings are sweet, well done on rescuing them so beautifully!

Hi Annie, totally agree, manners seem to be a dying thing these days. Odd, really, as being able to do things over the internet, instead of in person, you'd have thought being able to say 'thank you,but no' was easier! Good save with the stockings!Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #15 X

Hi Annie, it's such a busy time of the year and I can just see you busy at your sewing machine making your gorgeous bears right now. You've made a wonderful silk purse out of the sow's ear and those stockings are fabulous - clever you! Love the stocking cards too - you're rather good at making cards too. Don't forget to take time out between sewing jobs and the exercise regime to relax a bit. Hugs to you both, and Milly of course. Ellie x #19

Sounds like some of your customers are giving you grief, Annie. Not replying to your messages is the height of rudeness, I agree. Why don't they just say, sorry, I've changed my mind instead of cutting off communication. That would annoy me too! You've definitely got a stocking theme going on this week - loving the simple design on the cards and well done for correcting the customer's bodge job - sounds like something I might have done LOL! Thanks for your visit earlier! Hope you have a good week and some good customers! zsuzsa #18

Nicely rescued on the stockings! Lovely memory bears and I love your cards as well. The lack of communication really annoys me too. Hope that it improves. Happy WOYWW. Take care, With Love & God Bless Caro xx (#5)

Love the stocking cards-you have whizzed through making them. I admire the good job you have made of rescuing someone’s makes and turning them into lovely stockings. I despair about rudeness everywhere-good manners are unknown to some people but they are always the first to complain if something doesn’t suit them!

Happy WOYWW x. That’s great that you were able to save her stockings. People who don’t reply make me grumpy too, so you are not alone, Angela #25

Great save on the stockings Annie. It is rude not to respond you are correct. It doesn't take anything to say, sorry I've changed my mind. Love the cards! Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #2

From one grump to another where manners are concerned - plus other things which are niggling at me at the moment.
The Pain Management Group gave us an evaluation to fill in with our names on the front - consequently all those who had grumbled like crazy just put "good, good, good" all the way through - how can they change with that kind of feedback? My grouse of the moment!
Yes, bad manners do annoy me and I think it is terrible that you are sat waiting for orders that have been promised and they are not coming in. Bah Humbug!
Hugs, Neet 9 xx
ps your cards are lovely xx
