WOYWW....

 What a week it's been here at Sewing by Annie's.....not a spare minute was had :-) but I'm still smiling because I completed the very last bag full of factory trousers....all 40 pairs of them!!!  On top of that I have filled and emptied my 'to do rail' full of customer's sewing....I have no photos of any of that but I do have a few happy photos to share with you....

I finished the pair of patchwork cushions made for charity ...I showed you the fronts last week.

I sent a quilt, a rag doll and other items for a coffee morning to raise money for Breast cancer and in total they raised £1300...it was good to feel I helped.

The latest Harry Johnson trust sale raised £85 with the things Jo and I made....every little helps.

Saturday was another fun day with Phoebe and Lulu.  They asked if we could all make little frogs like the ones I made for Harry Johnson....of course they wanted to make ones to match their bedrooms....frogs do come in all colours you know :-)

We had a really fun afternoon and were joined by their Mummy and Great Aunty Jo for a while....lots of happy memories were made.

Lastly I am sharing my beautiful flowers one of my customers bought me....they were just too pretty not to share they with you.....I hope they make you smile too.

Yesterday was a Theo and Louie fun day and today is another Louie day....so I'm guessing there will be no sewing done.   I will do my best to pop over to yours once I've finished having fun :-)

This week's smiles ....week 435

 Another busy week and lots more smiles to share thankfully.

I just love it when my customers are so happy with what I do for them that they buy me flowers....they were just too pretty not to share them with you. 

I don't like having my photo taken but I do LOVE paddling in the sea and this was the first time this year that I had the chance so I'm sharing it with you.

As you can see the beach was almost empty apart from the loved ones that I was there with me.

I will add that while crabbing with Mark I was surprised by a rather large wave and was soaking up to the knees lol.

Here's the latest collage of our garden flowers and plants....it just keeps on giving and I love it when you find a new flower hiding.

Finally here's a couple of funnies I found on Facebook and they made me laugh...hope they do you too.

Garden treasures...

Saturday was spent clipping and cutting back the hedge / shrubs from the front of the house down to the road and what a difference it has made.  It seems to have let so much more light in to the front of the house.

Sunday, I spent a little time out in the sunshine in our back garden and thought you might like to share some of the treasure I found there.

It seems to have been a good year for the roses although the rain seems to knock them down and the flowers have certainly taken a battering at times.

At the very bottom of our garden is a wild / back to nature area for the birds, and wild plants.  We have lots of hazel trees down there that make a canopy with bird feeders and nesting boxes and even have a bird hide made from a small garden shed [Jo calls it our 'love shack' but all I can say is how did she know?  :-)  ].  It is getting to the 'I need to be cut back and sorted' stage so before it gets cleared I wondered through the wilderness and snapped all the little hidden treasures amongst the nettles.

Half way down our garden is a love seat that our family bought us for our silver wedding anniversary....the idea being that Hubby and I can sit on the seats and enjoy a cuppa together but our little dogs have other ideas.

The second I sit down on the one side Wispa likes to jump up and sit on the table part and Rocky sits proudly on the other seat!!!

They are such little characters.

Don't forget to take time out to smell the roses...

We have had a really special weekend.  

Saturday afternoon / evening was spent babysitting our gorgeous granddaughters.  They really are a delight to care for.  We had lots of fun and laughter.  I cooked them tea which they tucked into with no fuss or bother.  We bathed them and had lots of fun with bubbles and their bath toys and then we read stories and tucked both down in bed.  It's so lovely to see what a wonderful job our daughter and her hubby are doing of bringing them up....I'm such a proud mummy and nanny.

Sunday was a day for enjoying our little bit of heaven down the bottom of our garden.  We hoovered and cleaned out our bird hide [yes, we need a couple of extension leads to reach the bottom of our garden with a hoover!]....lots of spiders had moved in during the winter and to be honest I can't relax down there with so many little critters watching me.  We then set to and cleared out a lot of the overgrown weeds from the 'back to nature' bit......even nature needs a bit of help once or twice a year.  We enjoyed our morning coffee and lunch in the bird hide watching 2 squirrels play, an adult robin feeding it's baby, a black cap, a chiffchaff and more baby tits, of all sorts, than I could count......maybe now you can see why I call it our little bit of heaven?

Triffid update.....It's now over 6 foot tall and has pretty yellow flowers on the top.  The top bends over towards the sun and tends to follow the sun around the sky during the day  :-)  Skye reluctantly posed in from of it for you to give it a bit of scale  :-)

The flowers on the top....they seem to only last a day or so then drop off.

This is a little of our back to nature bit now we have cleared out some of the weeds.  It all has a canopy of hazel nut trees and is such a wonderful place to sit and enjoy nature at it's best.

The veg garden is looking pretty good and everything seems to have benefited from the drop of rain of late.

And finally just a bit of colour I snapped around the garden.  I love the vivid blue of this geranium.

 

Finally....don't forget to smell the roses.  These are just two of the lovely roses around our garden and I thought I'd share them with you.  Enjoy your week but remember to take time out to enjoy the magic that's all around you.
