I've had a busy week but I have nothing to show you.
I altered a beautiful Wedding dress for a very special lady this week who sadly is dying. She has two beautiful 7 year old twin boys and the Wedding is planned very soon. Life is very cruel and I feel very honoured to be able to help such special people. Of course I can't share her dress with you.
With all the prom dresses and Wedding/Bridesmaid dresses expected I really need to have machines I can rely on and this week my overlocker started playing up!! I actually have two overlockers but my other one was in the naughty corner because it refused to make any stitches. We rang up a local machine repair man and dropped off my machine with him. He rang a day later to say the machine was ready to be collected. Expecting a huge bill I was amazed when he said there was no charge as it was fixed easily [my previous repair man who has now retired used to charge £100 regardless!!]. I'm thrilled to have found someone I can trust with my machines and he even said he would be willing to come to the house to service my machines if needed.....and I have a few :-)
Thankfully he didnt take long enough fixing my machine for me to clean the house hehehe.
I hope you are all having a good week and have rather more than me to show us all.
Hugs,
Annie x

Glad you were able to get the machine sorted easily (and for nothing, what a result!) so you can get the prom dresses done. Happy WOYWW Helen #3
You do an amazing job. Well done on the wedding dress. I hope you have found a good repair man - we will all find that useful! x x Jo 🌈
How wonderful to help with the wedding dress which has so much meaning wrapped up in it, that’s such a sad story to hear xx. How wonderful to find a repairman like that, worth his weight in gold!
And I haven’t done any house work either so you’re in good company, lol!!

Oh that's absolutely wonderful to have a repaired machine for free and now a new repair guy whoop whoop! I have a sad thing on my post today too, it's just the way of the broken world I'm afraid, a good job there is a Saviour.... oops sorry off my soap box, Holy Week has gone to my head. Hugs Bj#6
Glad you have found a new reliable repairman Annie and that the overlocker is back in service for all those prom dresses. So sad about the bride with the twin boys. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah
Hi Annie, you had be worried there with the 'A Clean House is the sign' until I read the rest of it. I like a clean house but find tidy a bit difficult. Lucky you to find such a great guy to fix your machines especially for this time of the year when so many weddings take place. thanks for your kind thoughts over at mine. Sending woyww hugs Angela x10x
That was marvellous getting your machine fixed for free.
I took the waistband off my skirt, took a piece out, rejoined it and sewed it back on the skirt (having cut 6 inches off). It took me nearly 3 hours, but I was so pleased with myself. I am not going to pretend it’s up to your standard, but it’s not too bad. I have another skirt which needs 6 inches off the hem, which I need to do before we go. Happy WOYWW. Angela #11
How wonderful to find a repair man like that - sounds as if you found yourself a treasure in him.
Sad to hear about the wedding dress, I hope there are much happier stories with the others you have. I wish that bride every happiness.
