Hello all. I was missing last week, basically because I had nothing to show you. I had virtually no customers at all over the Easter holidays....I missed it but enjoyed the break and refilled my batteries. This was meant to be because since Monday morning I have...
- Shortened 3 skirts
- Shortened a prom dress
- Made 2 Memory bears
- Shortened 2 pair of trousers for one customer
- Shortened 6 pair of trousers for another customer
Today I have 2 pair of trousers to shorten for one of my regular customers and 2 Bridesmaid dresses to shorten and I also have 3 more Memory bears coming. It really is all or nothing here at Sewing by Annie's
This is my to do rail...the pale green and the brown dresses are the bridesmaid dresses. The navy dress on the right is the prom dress.
There are 2 of the pair of jeans hanging on my rail and the other 8 pairs are folded in their bags....so I have bags of clothes everywhere in my room....it's organised chaos :-)
Finally I have these two little knitties to show you. While I was enjoying my Easter break I fancied doing a little bit of knitting....I say little bit because arthritic hands and knitting don't really go together.
I found these tiny 4" characters on Pinterest and bought the pattern on line....then couldn't find where it had downloaded to!! I wasted half the morning finding it then searched for the right sized needles and could only find one!! Eventually found the second needle and then looked for the right colours of wool....they have pale pink faces because I couldn't find any cream!! Do you think something was trying to tell me I shouldn't be knitting?
Eventually [after lots of cramp in my hands!!] I managed to create a little Louie in his Spiderman jumper and a little Theo with a stripey jumper with a T on the front. The boys really loved them so my labour of love was well worth it.
That's all from me for this week. I hope you've all had a great week. If you leave me a little message I will do my best to pay you a visit ASAP.
Hugs,
Annie x

Wonder woman week then! The little bears are lovely. I bet the boys love their little knitties. x x Jo 🌈
Oh gosh those little guys are cute - shame they seemed to be frustrating you with every turn!! (I also hate when you download things and they seem to go somewhere hidden, I'm sure my pc has a mind of its own). Looks like you've got a busy week ahead, hope you manage to enjoy some of the sunshine! Have a good week, love n hugs Cindyxx #8
Those little knitted GSs are brilliant! Worth all the aggro you had to go through in the first place! You have been busy this week but I’m glad you had to stop for Easter, good to enjoy a bit of down time.
Hugs LLJ 3 xx
Your two little knitted guys are absolutely adorable. No wonder they were received well. Bet the look on the boys' faces was worth the pain.
Glad you had a bit of a break from work.
Hugs, Neet 9 xx
I do wish we lived closer! Our local sewing shop has closed so I’d certainly add to your workload! I’m glad you persisted as your two little knitties are great. Your memory bears are lovely too.
Happy WOYWW

That's a lot of work you are about to start, just make sure you get plenty of rest time. Knitting can be a great strain on the hands but searching for ages for the needles and wool can be even worse. Take care and have a good week. Happy woyww, Angela x11x
Oh my word the thought that springs to mind is are people getting shorter or are companies just making stuff LONG. I'm only 5'1" and a smidge so I totally understand the dilemma. Keeps you in business though doesn't it. I shortened a pair of trousers last year and had enough fabric left to make two phone size patch pockets (another thing us ladies seldom get pockets - let alone big enough ones). Adorable bears, love the yellow ribbon. You did well with the knitting in the end so cute, well worth the troubles. My carpal tunnel has returned with a vengence so I'd be struggling with knitting too. Hugs Bj#7
Aw, the boys in knitty! How fab, but really, you're fab, I'd have given up and in way before the one needle find! Glad you had a quiet Easter, the run up to summer with Proms and Weddings never fails to see you making the impossible possible!
Those little knitted characters are adorable Annie - no wonder the boys loved them. Hope the work balances out a bit better next week. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah
You really provide service to your community! Aloha
Hi Annie, I've read both this post and your Friday Smile one so I've seen how much the boys appreciated your knitting, even your hands did not! They are so cute and very cuddly too. I can see you've been really busy this past week so hope you're planning a restful weekend. Well, as restful as it can be with two very lively little visitors about. I've been very busy creating a garden while the weather has been warm and sunny. Here in Ardrossan you really do have to take advantage of every beautiful day given that they are so rare. Hugs to you all. Have a great weekend and enjoy International Scrapbooking Day tomorrow! Ellie x #14
