WOYWW....

 Happy Wednesday to one and all.  Here's hoping you're all well and happy.  Our dear friend Neet messaged me earlier in the week to say she's back in hospital again but as yet I don't know why....I just hope whay ever it is they can get her well and back home soon.  Sending her lots of love and hugs.

I've been busy bear making again...these two are in memory of a much loved 98 year old Mum....they are made from her jeans and favourite jumpers [yes, she still loved wearing her jeans at 98].

I've also been recovering the seat pads on our kitchen chairs/stools.

We are having the kitchen, halls and utility floors tiled so I thought new chairs pads and curtains would look good.

I know many enjoyed the colours of threads in the blue/green drawer so once I had time to do my two other drawers I thought I would let you see them all.

I do use lots of threads and if something needs overlocking then I need 3 reels of those colours to thread up the overlocker.

At least now I can easily see the colours and they are no longer tangled up.....good job well done :-)

I've also taken time out to do a bit of baking this week....cheese scones.  And they tasted every bit as good as they look....please help yourself to one to have with your cuppa.

WOYWW...

 I've had a busy week one way or another. I always write my WOYWW post on a Tuesday and at this moment in time Gina is progressing well in labour...eventually! She was admitted to hospital on Sunday with a high blood pressure which was thankfully lowered/controlled with meds for her to go into labour.  I promise to Update if there's any more news so watch this space....

I’m thrilled to say that Louie Oliver arrived safely  at 7.37 last night weighing 7lb 15oz......more to follow on Friday 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I've had another busy week with bridesmaid's dresses, prom dresses etc etc but have also made this...

It's a snuggle cushion with a pocket on the one side that I have put reading and activity books in for Theo....my idea is that he can snuggle up with Gina when she feeds the baby.

The other thing I have to share with you is my gorgeous box of sewing threads that came with my new industrial machine....I'm guessing it's like a new box of pens to most of you....I'm excited and will probably admire them for a while before I use any lol

I actually needed a pale turquoise green thread for a job on a skirt and there wasn't the right colour thread in this box.....or my drawer full of threads!!!

That's all from me for today my friends.  To be honest I've spent the last few days running on adrenaline with very little sleep and yesterday was spent looking after 4 of our 6 grandchildren....it's what a day off is meant for isn't it?  :-) :-)

I hope to catch up with as many of you that I can....but it may take me a while to get there.

WOYWW....

 Hello all.  What a week I've had since I posted for last Wednesday.  I had no work on Monday or Tuesday, as you know, but on Wednesday I had a bridesmaid's dress to do major alterations on plus 2 dresses, a dressing gown and a pair of cropped trousers that needed shortening.  On top of all that I also had 3 Memory bears and a Memory cushion cover to make....and these all needed finishing by Thursday as we were setting off on another adventure in our motor home on Friday morning. On Thursday I also had a pair of shorts also needing repairing and a prom dress to shorten so it was a very busy couple of days for me.....I hope you will all understand why I didn't manage to get around you all to leave comments last week.  I promise I will try harder this week but I already have .....

....these two posh frocks hanging on my rail and lots more promised to arrive this week too.  It's certainly an all or nothing life I lead here at Sewing by Annie....and I love it :-)

We both enjoyed our long weekend up near Coniston Water up in the Lake District....it was certainly a break well earned :-) I may have a few pics to share with you on Friday.

Since we got back from our few days away I have had delivery of new threads....I know just how excited some of you get when you have new pens and that's just as excited as me with my new threads even though they are just to restock my thread drawers.

I've also had this ATC and card through the post from Catriona....I know she was beginning to think it was never going to arrive but it had been damaged in the post and resealed in a poly bag by the post office.  Thankfully the contents weren't damaged so thank you Catriona very much.

This week's smiles....week 268

Here we are at my Friday catch up of the week's smiles and believe me when I say...I've looked around me this week and I've a lot to smiles about so here you go....

The sunshine is bringing out new blooms in the garden  every day now....and yes yesterday there really wasn't a cloud in the sky behind the beautiful blossom that is opening out on our tree.

Special note for Elizabeth.....the shrub from last week with the white bell shaped flowers was a Pieris.

Tuesday was our 36th Wedding anniversary so that gave us a lot to smile about and my darling hubby bought me this gorgeous yellow Ranuncular flower.

We celebrated Wednesday night [there was a footy match Tuesday night and I never get in the way of his footy matches].  We enjoyed a Chinese meal then went to the cinema to see The Greatest Showman.....brilliant film with real feel good factor.

Tuesday afternoon little Theo asked his mummy if they could 'come and see Nanny and say hello to Milly the dog'.  Of course Nanny Annie never turns down her little visitors and how lovely that he asked to come.  As you can see he enjoyed a play in my drawers full of cotton reels....he loves all the colours in each one.

I then found him my box full of empty reels etc....yes this Nanny never throws out anything with play value.  I'm not sure who enjoyed them more Theo or his mummy.  :-) :-) :-)

Entertaining children never need to cost a lot of money does it?  Wellies on and a big puddle of rain water is more than enough.  :-) :-) :-)

WOYWW....

It was with great sadness yesterday that I heard of the loss of our friend Janet Fairythoughts.  It's never easy to put into words what is felt after the loss of a friend but I must say that although I never met Janet she certainly touched my heart through the blogging world and she will be sadly missed.  Over a year ago Janet sent me some of her poppy seeds that I had admired on her blog and she will now be thought of fondly every time they bloom in my new garden.  I hope her family and friends are comforted by all the lovely words that are being spoken about Janet and this helps to ease this sad time.

So in her memory we must all try to live a little harder and I hope we will all raise a glass to a very special lady.  Of course what brought us together was our sharing of our creative spaces thanks to Julia linking us up each and every week and this week is no different.....except that there is very little desk-wise to share with you today...

I've been doing a bit more sorting and organising my sewing room for ease of moving it all at the appropriate time during the building work.

These are the machine embroidery threads now sorted and put together in one of my new drawers.

Of course they wouldn't all fit in together so I have another little box for the shiny ones I tend to use only at Christmas time.

The rest of my show and tell are just a quick few snaps of the building changes since Friday.....

We have a new doorway built between what will be a new front hall and the new bathroom.

The internal skin of blocks have been built to the walls of the new extension and the door and window you can see in this pic.....

...was taken out yesterday and......

......blocked up.  So you can see why there is little being done in the sewing room....I'm far too busy making cups of tea for my builders :-)

They will be back again today to hopefully block up the other side of this wall and knock out another door and block that up too.....oooooer it's so exciting cos this is the start of my new sewing room.  :-)
