Did this fool say something about work being quiet? Since we were here last week everyone came out of the woodwork :-)
My sewing rail has filled and emptied and filled again.
I've had 6 bridesmaids here for fittings...3 in the lovely champage colour. One of them has already been collected. I've had several pair of trousers to shorten and the shirt on the left is a gents shirt that he wants an extra 6" adding to the bottom...he's brought the fabric so I will probably be doing that today.....another challenge.
I did fittings on three bridesmaids dresses in this lovely lemon colour and I've shortened them all and they are now waiting in their boxes to be collected today....they are stretchy but wont crease so not the easiest to work on.
Both the champagne and the lemon dresses are all in different styles to suit each of the bridesmaids and they looked really lovely.
The only other thing that's on my desk today is a project basket. I'm making a special lap quilt using bright colours for a special young lady.
I'm hoping to add pockets with hidden 'little friends' and noisy toys to stimulate her.....watch this space.
That's all from me for this week. I hope you've all had a lovely week and are coping with the heat.
Hugs,
Annie x

the dresses sound gorgeous and beautiful colours. Good luck lengthening a shirt.. that sounds tricky without making it look too obvious but I am sure you have a plan! Happy WOYWW Helen #1
What a busy week! Your lap quilt sounds lovely. I will look forward to seeing it 😃 x x Jo 🌈
How on earth do you lengthen a shirt? Or do you just add fabric on and leave the seam on show? Your ingenuity amazes me!! Lovely colours on the dresses and that project basket looks pretty, lots of gorgeous bits and pieces in there!

Ooh, so looking forward to the project box being revealed. Sounds wonderful.
Love the bridesmaids dresses colours and how unusual to have them all the same colour but different styles. A great idea as what suits one doesn't suit another.

Hi Annie, those dresses all sound lovely. I don't envy you the shirt lengthening project but I'm sure you will rise to the challenge as usual! Looking forward to seeing the finished lap quilt. It sounds a fun project. Hope all is well with you and yours. Hugs to you both and head pats for Peggy. xx Ellie, #14
The quilt sounds lovely. I hope your sewing room is nice and cool. It’s too darn hot here, but I don’t have the energy to sing it 🤣 hugs Angela #12
Love the colourful project basket can't wait to see the end product and yes the champagne colour is gorgeous. Hugs BJ#5
It always makes me happy to see you busy and that people appreciate your skills. It's just sad that these skills may die off if schools stop offering practical subjects. Once you get a love of them you will go back to them. We've had a job finding a welder and my favourite guy is close to retirement. Technology is a subject that's losing it's place in schools because of the expense and soon there wont be teachers to teach it. Anyway lets not worry about that now. Happy woyww. Hugs Angela x8x
