This week's smiles....week 302

I'm back!  I've had a few weeks off....needed to focus on other things and get my head round what life was throwing at us.  I'm so glad that we are a strong family and when life throws us challenges we are able to support each other and get through it....it doesn't happen over night but we are all recovering and hoping 2019 is a kinder one to us all.

When life throws me challenges I like to be kept busy which I certainly was leading up to Christmas with my Memory bears and what a lot of smiles they have caused so many people....I've had lots of lovely feedback and I feel truly blessed.

Having 6 gorgeous grandchildren has certainly helped...you can't sit dwelling on things with little ones around you plus there has been so many happy times shared with them over the festive season.  I have found just a few of my pics to share with your today.....

When Father Christmas asked little Theo what he wanted for Christmas he said...'A guitar like Daddy's please'.

I know it's a ukulele but he's one very happy little boy as you can see....here he is jamming with his daddy and grandad.

'One careful driver'

Have a feeling this little girl loves her Nanny....she's so like her mummy and I really love this photo.

On 27th we were asked to a house party over the road at our neighbours...the theme was 'Old before your time'.  A difficult one for us of course cos we already have the grey hair, glasses and walking sticks but of course you just have to make an effort....the scary thing is when I look at my pic I see my mum looking back at me  :-)

The weather was lovely last weekend so, as we were badly needing a breath of fresh air and a stretch of the legs, we headed off on an adventure in the motor home.  As you can see Biscuit bear is posing in front of the window....can you see where we are?....answer at the bottom of the page.

The best part of our adventure was baking fresh bread rolls in the oven and frying bacon to make these yummy bacon rolls....I bet you can smell them from there....and they were every bit as yummy as you imagine.

We enjoyed a lovely walk with Milly on the beach and along the promenade...it was really good to get out in the fresh air.

I hope you have enjoyed my smiles for this week.  Thanks for all the love and support I've been given over the last few weeks...you're all such lovely people.

Here's hoping we can all share lots of happy smiles over the next year.
Hugs,
Annie x

The answer to where we went is....Colwn Bay :-)

WOYWW.....

Well folks I'm back.....I wonder if you missed me?

This was my view last week......

Coffee time in Rhodes....stunning view eh?  My hubby and I were away enjoying a wonderful week together near Rhodes to celebrate my up and coming big birthday.....what a beautiful island it was too.  It was hotter over there than usual for them and even reached over 30 degrees several of the days.....and my biggest achievement of all was that nearly every day I swam 10 lengths of the swimming pool having not swam for the last 12 years following my knee replacement....wahooooooo.

So I'm back to normal routine this week now.  Of course our little Milly had a week in our favourite kennels while we were away and was really spoilt by the girls at Whitley Crest....thanks for looking after her so well.  She has done a lot of sleeping since she came home and as normal hasn't really left my side but Monday she did this....

If I'm busy sewing and she is in need of a cuddle she often jumps on my knee but this was the first time she then went a step further and decided to lye on my desk by the side of my sewing machine.....what a cutie eh?

My other desk shot for this week shows you the lovely sparkly fabrics I'm playing with this week.....my baby boy is 30 next week [where did that time go?] and he has an 80/90s fancy dress themed party planned for the weekend after so I've been working on my outfit!!....well you just have to go for it don't you?
I wont promise to share a pic with you but I have a feeling my family might!!

So there you go.  I've shown you mine so now show me yours and if you leave me a little comment so I know you've called in I will do my best to pay you a return visit ASAP.  Have a fun week.
Hugs,

This week's smiles....week 53

Another week has passed and as always I have lots in my life that makes me smile.  When time is plodding along very slowly and seeming to get nowhere in areas of your life it is good to focus on the happy things....Yes, I mean I still have no more news to share on the house move!  I have never done this moving house thing before and truly didn't realise that the wheels turned so very slowly.....guess we will get there but it really would be nice to have a moving date to focus on.

This week I would like to thank the 5 of you who linked us last week....not our usual numbers but have a feeling many are suffering with the dark, gloomy days and struggling to find their happy moments.  I would like to feature my big sister Jo's blog this week cos she shared a gorgeous photo of some of natures little treasures and this encouraged me to take the twins on a treasure hunt.....and that's what I'm sharing this week.

We put our coats on and I told the twins we were going on a treasure hunt.   I told them we had to walk carefully so as not to tread on the special little things I was taking them to find and the magic of the moment was amazing when they saw the little green shoots forcing their way through the cold, hard ground.  There are always a lot of snowdrops in the churchyard opposite our house so I knew we wouldn't be disappointed but even I didn't realise just how magic the nature would captivate two little 2 year olds......isn't nature amazing?

The other quick snap I'm sharing with you today is of my amazing family.  :-)  It was Michelle's 30th birthday on 7th Jan and she and her friend decided to have a joint birthday party with a 70s and 80s theme.  As you can see my family don't do things by halves....yes that really is my two daughters, their husbands, my son and his fiancee :-)  A great time was had by all and I'm sure it was a party to remember.

I hope my snaps have made you smile today and you will all take a little time out of your busy lives to focus on the happy moments and share them with us by linking below.

This weeks smiles....week 30

Many thanks to all who joined in the fun this week.  There really is a lot of happiness out there and how lovely it is to share it.  Many call by each week just to share our smiles now folks so please keep linking them up to cheer the lives of those needing that little extra boost in their lives.

I am featuring Di's blog this week from over at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.  She painted such a fab picture in my mind of her dressed ready for some intense cleaning....it really caused some giggles.  I am hoping to meet Di this next week in real life and I would like to put a request in that she doesn't come in her cleaning gear  :-)  Thanks for joining in the fun Di.....see you soon wahooooo

I am sharing my two little munchkins this week to show off what a clever Great Aunty Jo they have.  They are such tiny little poppets and are so into dressing up at the mo.  Shell has tried to buy them a few dressing up clothes but they are all for children aged 3-5 so are much too big for them.  Jo set to and made them a few [she put them on her blog on Wednesday] and you can see just how much they love them here....

Lexi just loves her princess skirt but in her haste to put it on she failed to cover her top half...I've blocked out the important bits cos I'm sure in years to come she might rather it that way  :-)

Here is Nurse Lexi and Dr Sam....they have a fab set of Dr toys and are happy to check you over any time but be warned...they are a bit vicious with their instruments as yet!!  :-)

And if you're not already smiling then this one is sure to raise a smile.  Sam insisted on putting Lexi's fairy dress on...what a cute little angelic face eh?  :-)

Thanks for calling by for your 'make me happy' visit.  If you have something in your life that is making you smile please snap a pic and link it up any time before next Friday when I will be uploading my next pic and I will feature the one that made me smile the most.

Fancy dress for a 4th Birthday.....

Thankfully everyone was returned to full health in time for our latest family celebrations.  For Phoebe's 4th birthday party she had asked if everyone would come in fancy dress and of course no one would let her down.  :-)  We all had such a giggle getting ready for the party and a lot of us had to travel in our outfits to get to the house of course giving all who saw us a giggle too.  I promised to put some of the pictures on my blog to record the party so now you can have a giggle too. There was....
  • A birthday girl fairy
  • Iggle piggle
  • Winnie the pooh
  • Tigger
  • A Smurf
  • The Gruffalo
  • Wally
  • Sponge bob square pants
  • Minnie mouse
  • Oh and an old age hippie of course  :-)
.....to name but a few....feel free to click on the picture to enlarge it for a better look.  What a fun time was had by all.  Happy Birthday Phoebe....one we will all remember.  :-)
