This week's smiles....week 218

Wahooooo these week's seem to fly by.  It only seems 5 mins since I shared my smiles from last week and here we are again.  Firstly many thanks to those who joined in the fun last week.  I really love seeing what makes you all smile so keep up the good work folk.  I hope you like my new header picture....it's my crab apple blossom that's now in bloom.

Now down to the business of sharing my week's smiles.....

As promised on Wednesday here are a few of the pics taken at Theo's Christening last Sunday.  You should be able to click on the pic if you want a closer look.  It was such a lovely day.  The sun shone for us and the cathedral was filled with family and friends. The cake was made by my daughter in law, Gina and her friends and tasted really yummy.

Little Steve had a 'spend the day as a pirate' day at school this week.....doesn't he look the part?

For those who like to see what little Milly has been up to this week here she is sitting on my newly covered chair wanting a lesson on the overlocker.

There you go folk.  Those are my shares for this week.  Please leave me a little message to say you've called in and then link to your own smiles below.  I hope you all have a great week.

WOYWW.....

What a difference a week makes....Mr Mojo is back off his holidays [thankfully].

We have had a really lovely week and on Sunday we all got together to celebrate Theo's Christening....the sun shone for us too.  I will be sharing a pic or two in my Friday smiles post so please come back then if you'd like to see them....any why not link up to your own smiles at the same time because we really can not have too many smiles.

So you're here today to see my desk are you?  It's in full fabric frenzy mode so here it is in all it's glory.....

.....and not just the one desk.  When I get going it all comes out as you can see.  I decided to make a few PE bags for a craft fair I'm hoping to get a table at.  It's at the local school that the twins go to so nice and close and hopefully I can hand out a few more fliers to let folk know where I am.

Here's a few of the lined PE bags I made.  I make each one different so they can be found easily at the end of a school day and if they want I can also applique names on the front too [for an extra charge of course].

While I was surrounded by inspiring fabrics I decided to make a few lined, zipped pencil cases too....I have a bag full of zips so thought it was a good way to use some of them.

The last photo I thought I'd share is a selection of the tools of my trade.
  • Thimble.....I'm an old school girl and still use one.
  • Measuring gauge.....handy when doing hems etc.
  • Nappy pin....I'd been using it to put the cord in the PE bags.
  • A very old bodkin needle....for threading elastic
  • Artery forceps....best tool everyone should have a pair.  I use them for stuffing my memory bears.
  • Sellotape....had it out to put on end of cord to stop in unravelling.
  • Tailor's chalk.....use that most days when shortening trousers.
  • Snippers....couldn't manage without those.....better than seam rippers for undoing seams.
  • Sewing machine brush....I keep my machines clean.
  • Scissors.....lots of them.  They each have different jobs too.

There you go.  A little insight into my world.  Hope you enjoyed your visit.  Leave me a little message so I know you've called in and I will aim to get over to yours ASAP.  Hope you will all pop back on Friday to share my smiles and will link up and share a few of your own.

This week's smiles....week 217

Hello all. Once again many thanks to those who joined in again last week....I really do appreciate your support each week.

I have lots to smile about this week so will get straight to a few pics I've got...

Firstly my table is covered with fabric and that always makes me smile....this was some I saw on offer in a Facebook group I'm in.  I'm always looking for fabrics for boys and this was just too good to miss.  I'm sure I will find a use for every bit.

This was a quick snap of the twinnies and their mummy cycling to our house one very early morning this week because they wanted to have breakfast with me.....they were so excited.

It's the simple pleasures in life that make me smile and being close to all my family is one of my best.

Here's the twinnies dressed up as Batman and Batwoman....so you know who to call in an emergency.

Here's a quick snap of Amy's three playing with their Sylvanians and making good use of the clothes I made them for Christmas.....more simple pleasures eh?

And finally for those who enjoy nature in all it's glory here's a few snaps from around our garden now....who isn't smiling now?  I really love Spring with all the new life and gorgeous colours.

So, I've shown you mine.  Please leave me a little comment so I know you've called by and link to your own smiles below....oh and I really hope your week is filled with smiles.

WOYWW....

Hello all.  Hope you had a lovely Easter weekend.....it was a busy one for us as we had birthday celebrations.....Milly was one on the 16th and we took her to the seaside for the day to celebrate :-)
Plus it was our 35th Wedding Anniversary on 17th [that's the Coral one] so that was another reason the celebrate.

But I have been busy since last week even though none of the jobs are on my desk.....

This was one of the chairs in my sewing room and it was looking rather worn and tired so I've recovered it and it now looks.........

.....like this.  I've used a spare curtain to cover it and it now matches my room rather better and is nice, fresh and clean.

The other job I've done is recover the seat pads on our kitchen chairs to match our new kitchen....it was a job I've been meaning to do for a while but never got round to it.

I'm really rather pleased with them now.....what do you think?

That's all I've got the share with you today.....sorry it wasn't on my desk but hope you've enjoyed your visit.  Let me know you've called in and I will do my best to pay you a return visit ASAP.

This week's smiles....week 216

Hello all.  I hope you've all had a wonderful week full of smiles and happy moments.  Firstly I want to thank the loyal few who join in each week and to wish one and all a very happy Easter.

Thankfully the worries we had earlier in the week have now blown over and we can all sleep rather more easily.  I think life likes to throw us challenges and as the saying goes....what doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

I have put together a couple of collages for you this week that have had me smiling....

My daughter Amy had the cleaners in yesterday....and what wonderful little helpers they are too.

My question is....what are they after?  😁😁😁

The other is a comic strip about 'Little Brown Dog'.  You may need to click on it to enlarge it so you can read it......please note she does have a new 'Little Brown Dog' but of course it's no replacement!

I hope my pics have made you smile and you will link to your own happy posts below.  Wishing you all a really Happy Easter weekend.

WOYWW......

Here we are at another Wednesday catch up.  If you would like details about WOYWW then pop over to Julia's at the Stamping Ground and join in the fun.

Many of you last week asked how the craft fair had actually gone and did I sell out....We all had a lovely day but footfall was really poor and I brought home almost all I took with me.  I made enough to cover the cost of my table and a little extra and was able to hand out lots of my fliers so got the word out locally to a few more potential customers where to find me so all was not lost.  Because of this my Mojo has gone on holiday.....and until he returns I guess I will have little to show you.

I have made a lovely pair of Memory Bears this week....

They are in memory of a much loved mum and dad.  The clothing used to make the bears held special memories, plus Mummy bear has a bow made from one of her favourite scarves and Daddy bear has his own little tie out of his favourite tie.  The results caused a few emotional moments and I was given a big hug so I feel it was a job well done.....they are rather cute aren't they?

Apart from that I have a few more new fat quarters to show you....I couldn't resist.

And I have a rainbow of new threads that Jo saw being sold off as random bags of 5 reels for just 50p so of course these were just too good to miss....and they will all get used at some point I'm sure.

So, that's all I have to share with you today.  Life has thrown us a few challenges this week so I will be stroking my new fabrics while I'm waiting for Mr Mojo to return from his holidays and I hope I have more exciting projects to share with you soon.
Hugs,

This week's smiles....week 215

Phew these weeks seem to be flying by and as always I'm here to share something from my week that has made me smile but firstly I want to say many thanks to those who can be relied on to link up each week to share their smiles.....I'm so grateful to each and every one of you.

I will now share the pics that have made me smile this week....

On Sunday whilst we were at the craft fayre Amy's three enjoyed several rides on the ponies....so much so we actually think they have shares in them now 😁😁😁

Little Theo is growing fast and furious as you can see and he can now roll from front to back and back to front......in fact he will be up and crawling now before we know it.....they don't stay babies for long do they?

Steve has gained the confidence now to let go and swim unaided and here he is showing off the 5m certificate he's been awarded....proud Nanny moments.  😀😀😀

Here is Milly sitting on the table.....I'd just told her to get down but as you can see she's turned a deaf ear. 😁😁😁

She's such a funny little thing when it comes to food of any sort especially dental chews.  Here we have put three different ones down to see which she would chew.....and even with a bit of encouragement she really wasn't interested in any of them.....would you call her spoilt?

😁😁😁😁😁
Here she is enjoying the sunshine....she actually hurt her one back foot and has had a day and a half walking on just three legs.  We took her to see the vet last night and he can't find much wrong with it but gave us some pain relief [and a rather large bill!!].  I'm sure it wont surprise you to hear when we returned home from the vets she decided to put her foot down again!
She never fails to make us giggle.
😁😁😁😁

Well, there you go.  Those are a few of my smiles from this week.  What's had you smiling?  Please leave me a little message so I know you've called in and then link your own smiles below.

WOYWW....

Another busy week has flown by since last Wednesday so I'm here to share my desk with you again.  As you know I had a table at a local craft fayre last Sunday so here's a peep at how it looked...

I was really pleased with my table.  The new banner could have been made to measure cos it fitted exactly across the curtain pole and we managed to arrange at least some of everything I took with me.  I had the help of my darling hubby and my much older sister to set up and run the stand and the support of many of my family members too so all in all a wonderful time was had by all......Many thanks to you all.

The last things I made to take with me was this batch of monster bags which, as you can see hung across the front of my table and on the curtains at the back.

The other things I've made this week are two school Memory bears.....they are for the same school, as you can see, but don't they look different by using the uniform in different places?

This little Memory bear is made using the football kit of our local team.  They aren't playing very well at the mo but I rather like the bear I've made from the kit.  I've made this for a special little man who's a little young yet but I'm sure will be brainwashed into being a supporter as he gets older. 😀😀😀

That's a quick catch up from me for this week.  I have lots of orders for more bears now so will be kept busy this week but in between jobs I promise I will pop over to yours to see what's keeping you busy.
Hope you have a great week.
Hugs,
Annie x
