Where do these weeks go? It doesn't seem 5 mins since last Wednesday....I guess that's a sign that I've had a busy week.
I have...
Made 5 peg bags....and sold two of them as soon as they were finished.
Made 3 aprons [ I have handed over the peg bags and aprons with the little frogs and another strip quilt to Harry Johnson Trust and forgot to snap them before they went ].
Shortened a pair of jeans to make them into shorts
Shortened 3 layers on the hems of a wedding dress and made and inserted panels under the arms to let them out [a very tricky job, needing a lot of patience but thankfully now finished].
Shortened a dress and shortened the sleeves so it's now a short sleeved dress.
and.....
I was asked to make some more hair scrunchies for the charity so I made 16.
I am still to make more glasses cases and some bags :-)
I had a good catch up with Sally who runs the Harry Johnson Trust on Saturday and it was good to find out what had sold and what she needed more of.
That's all from me for today. I hope you're all fit, well and happy. If you leave me a little message to say you've called in I will do my best to pay you a visit to see what's on your desk today.
Here we are at another catch up of all our things that has made us smile from the last week....the week seems to have flown. I've had a lot of sewing this week and that always makes me smile. I also had time to finish my Spring wreath that I have now put as my blog header....I smile every time I look at it and am hoping it hastens Spring because that's my favour season of the year.
We had a lovely time with little Louie yesterday.....he's such a little character and his speech is coming on leaps and bounds now [you really do have to be careful what you say now ;-) ].
We had a visit from Shell while Louie was here and I really love this photo of her reading a book with him....he loves his Aunty Shell :-)
I'm hoping you can click on this so you can read it because it really had us chuckling......I'm so glad times have changed.
Of course I found a few funnies to share with you too.....I hope they raise a smile or two.
Please leave me a little comment so I know you've called in and then link up to your own smiles at the bottom.
Here we are at another What's on your work desk Wednesday. I love catching up with my blogging friends all around the world and seeing what you have all been up to each week. I've a lot of bears waiting to be collected this week.
These 4 were made in memory of a much loved Grandmother and they have gone to their new homes in Merseyside.
These two were made in memory of a man who died suddenly in his 40s...far too young. I made them out of his favourite two shirts and ties and...
....I also made this cushion to give to his Mother. We shouldn't outlive our children should we?
I've also had some creative time so I finished off my Spring wreath....I'm really thrilled with how it turned out and it's now hanging on my sewing room door and makes me smile every time I look at it.....Spring is on it's way :-) :-)
That's all from me for today. I will hopefully pop round to all my favourite blogs to see what you've been up to this week.
Here we are at another weekly catch up of the things that has made us smile from the last week. I've had a stinker of a head cold but I've still had lots to smile about and thankfully my cold is drying up now although I am still coughing.
Saturday night we celebrated Shell's 40th birthday.....how did my first born reach 40!! It only seems 5 mins since I was 40 and two mins since she was born.
It's been a lot colder here this week so Milly has been glad of her fleece jumper.
It looks like this flock of birds has seen my hubby filling up the bird feeders...it made me chuckle.
We had a fun day with the boys on Tuesday. I taught Theo how to make paper aeroplanes and boats then I made them a couple of hankie mice....my dad used to make one for me as a child so it brought me back many happy memories watching the boys play with them. They built a maze and a house out of the duplo for their mice to play in....happy memories.
Finally here's a few funnies to make you smile. I hope you will leave me a little message before linking up to your own smiles at the bottom of the page.
Here we are at another catch up with our creative friends all around the world...it's my favourite day of the week you know :-)
I've had a little more creative play time and here's my Spring wreath as far as it at the mo....
I've made lots more flowers and leaves but it's all just placed on the covered wire ring so far...I think I need to make more snowdrops yet.
I've made my first set of 4 Memory bears of 2024 which brings my bear count up to 799 :-)
It would have been 800 but I had one customer who cancel their appointment twice, made a third appointment but then messaged me to say she had changed her mind because she had decided she couldn't afford one this month!! I do have 4 more bears coming at some point so I will soon be over the 800 but it really annoys me when customers mess me about.
That's all from me for this week. I have a dentist appointment today so it may be later when I can get around all my favourite blogs....but I will do my best asap.
Here we are at another round up of the smiles of my week...and there's been many.
Lexi has now completed her 36 shows of Jack in the Beanstalk at Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury. It was a wonderful show and she made us very proud of her.
I'm hoping the video below works for you. This was the final dance of the show....she's come a long way since she started her ballet classes aged 3.
We looked after Theo and Louie on Saturday afternoon and we had a visit from Amy, Phoebe, Lulu and Stephen. It was so lovely to see them all playing together...you're never too old to play with playdough :-)
We had little Louie for a play day yesterday....just look at that concentration :-)
Milly had her hair cut this week and is so proud of herself. :-)
Of course I have to finish off with some funnies....I hope something makes you smile. Please leave me a little message so I know you've called in and if you can then please link up to your smiles at the bottom.
Good morning all. I hope I find you all well and happy this Wednesday. I've had a couple of customers this week and have repaired the sleeve on a blouse and shortened a couple of pairs of jeans so far but have Memory bears on their way through the post :-)
This has given me a little time to be creative [if only I can get motivated lol].
I love making the Christmas wreath so much and it made me smile every time I walked past my sewing room door, where it was hanging, that I thought I'd have a go at making one covered with Spring flowers so I sorted through several Spring coloured fabrics and ironed stiff interfacing on the back of each to make the machine embroidery easier.
Spring is on it's way :-)
I've made a start with a couple of Daffodils and snowdrops so far and rather like how they are turning out so far....what do you think?
That's all from me for today. Please leave me a little message so I know you've called by and I will do my best to pay you a return visit as soon as I can.
Here we are at the first smiley post of 2024. I hope you have all enjoyed the festive break and are starting the new year off well and happy. I've had my first customer of 2024 and have others planning to come soon and that makes me smile. I've even started planning a new creative project...I may post more about that on my Wednesday post.
Friday night my hubby and I went to the Birmingham Rep theatre to see The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe [my favourite book as a child]. The show was amazing. Amy, Dave and family treated us to the tickets for Christmas so it was a real treat....many thanks to all.
We completed our Christmas jigsaw....it was GREEN!!!!
I dont like sprouts at the best of times and this was really challenging....all the pieces were the same size/shape so we just had to go on the colours....GREEN!!!
Having spent 7 years in fleecy green knickers at secondary school it has never been a favourite colour :-)
Little Louie was bought a standing frame for Christmas so he could 'help' in the kitchen....both boys love to help in the kitchen and this puts him at the right height safely....he loves it.
Angela shared with us last week some of the positions her fur babies get into to sleep so I thought I'd share these couple with you. Milly gets into all sorts of positions to sleep ...I guess she must be comfy??
Of course I have to finish up with a few funnies...it wouldn't be a Friday without would it?
Please leave me a little message so I know you've called in and if you can then please link to your own smiles below.
Happy New Year to you all. I hope you've all enjoyed your Christmas and New Year celebrations. Ive done very little creatively to share with you but here a picture of my desk today...
I managed to finish the latest batch of little frogs that I make for children newly diagnosed with cancer and I then cleared all the clutter from my sewing room and cut out a batch of interfacings [black and white] ready for the next batch of memory bears through my door.... and I have already had an order for my first 4 of 2024.
As you know I keep a folder full of all the Memory Bears I've ever made and I have now made 795!!!
Here's hoping by next week I have more to share with you.
