This week's smiles...week 291

Oh what a week it's been!  I still have a little tenderness of the nose from catching a ladder on it on Monday and my sciatica is still lingering but I've not stopped smiling all week because last Friday we collected.....

....our new motor home. When our family was little we had several caravans over the years and even had a trailer tent at one point so we are really excited to be setting up our new motor home ready to enjoy the freedom on the roads as we near retirement.....so watch out, we may come knocking on your door :-)

Wednesday I had someone very special knocking on my door.....

....yes it's our very own Lisca who was visiting family with her lovely hubby over here in England. She told me that she had only ever met one Blogger before [Kate out in Spain] so I felt very honoured that she felt they could call in for coffee and cake....and what a lovely couple they are.

A Dutch lady who lives in a cave house in Spain, that I've 'known' for years, should call in on little old me!  Who would have thought it?  This blogging lark really does have a lot to be thankful for.

The other thing that has really made me smile this week is this.  It's the hedge down the one side of the road leading to our little bungalow.  It's maintained by the council but it was well overdue for it's hairdo so I'm thrilled to bits that they came Wednesday afternoon to cut it.....doesn't it look lovely?.....or is it just me?  :-) :-)

That's all the smiles I'm sharing for this week.  Please leave me a little message so I know you've called by and if you can then please link up to your own smiles below.

WOYWW....

Oh it's been an eventful week here at Sewing by Annie's.  I've had lots to make me smiles going on and have also been in the wars when a ladder slipped and landed on the bridge of my nose!....its very tender and bruised but I'm sure I will live :-)

The smiles will be kept for my Friday post so come back to check out what's been making me smile.

On my desk this week are....

I've finished a quilt I was asked to make.  My customer and I were able to discuss fabrics via messenger because he isn't local to me so it's exactly as requested including the little robin appliqued on the one corner square.

Here Jo is checking out a parcel of Laura Ashley fabric samples sent to us from Margaret and we have decided to challenge each other to make something with them....just to see what we can each come up with.

For now I am working on another of my Memory bears....this one is being made from stretchy, fleecy, fluffy fabric so it's come with many challenges....and I'm loving making it so far.

Thanks for dropping by today.  If you leave me a little message I will do my best to pay you a return visit and if you can then call in on Friday to see what's been making me smile....plus I have a special visitor dropping by today too.  :-)

This week's smiles....week 290

It's a quick post from me for this week as sitting at the computer for long is still proving pretty uncomfy with this b***** sciatica.  I've managed to keep pretty busy with my sewing and it's been a week of birthday celebrations.

Yesterday was our daughter-in-law Gina's birthday and the twins 7th birthday....where have those years gone? Happy birthday to all three.

So here's a couple of quick snaps of the twinnies....

Here they are wearing the birthday coats we bought them on their way out to school.....they look so grown up now don't they?

And here they are wearing their Greatest Showman outfits that Great Aunty Jo made for them.....don't they look fab?  I especially love Lexi's pink wig :-)

That's all from me for this week.  I hope to be here with rather more to smile about next week.

WOYWW....

Here we are at our Wednesday catch up with creative desks around the world.  For me this week it's been bears, bears and more bears.....

Made from tiny babygros and a label  with the baby girls birth details on it.

Another bear was then ordered for another family member once the first bear was collected....it's always nice to get repeat orders.

This one was made from a lady's coat as a surprise for an elderly Aunt.

A pair of twin bears for a local school...one of which is to be given as a leaving gift for the school vicar.

The only other pic I have to show you is this one.  I have had an order for a special quilt in yellow, pale blue and light green and of course I didn't have enough fabrics so Jo and I went shopping in Shrewsbury on Saturday while the men were at the footy....while the cats away.....

We have a new Abakhan shop now in Shrewsbury so we started there but then ended up going to our other fabric shop, Watson and Thornton's,  because of course we needed more choice.

That's all from me for this week.  My sciatica is still lingering but it's not stopping me sew as you can see.  Please leave me a little hello message so I know you've called in and I will do my best to pay you a return visit when I can.

This week's smiles....week 289

Wahoo what a week it's been since I posted my smiles for last Friday.  It's been full of Friendship, Fun and Family. With lots of Love, Laughter and Limping.

For Friendship.....read the WOYWW crop in Llandudno
Fun was had by all who attended.
Family snaps to share with you.....

It's been back to school time for 5 of my Grandchildren and here's a couple of collages showing each year spent at school and just how they have grown.

....don't the years fly by?

Back to school meant Shell needed new trainers for when she does PE with the children and isn't she lucky to be able to get children's trainers?.....not only can she get some really fun trainers but of course they are much cheaper than adult sizes.

This photo made me chuckle.  Sam is proudly showing off the fact that he has lost two of his front teeth....in one morning!!  The tooth fairy will be needing to take out another mortgage at this rate.

That's all my smiles for this week.  If you are wondering why my week has included Limping it's because I have Sciatica....something I could really do without....but I'm still smiling.

Please leave me a little message so I know you've called in and if you can then please link up to your own smiles below.  I love it when you all join in.

WOYWW....

Didn't we have a lovely time in Llandudno folks?  I know I did and we are planning to do it again soon.

I'm sure we all feel we owe Julia a lot for launching this wonderful group.  So many wonderful friendships have been bade because of our Wednesday link ups.  Sadly Julia wasn't with us in body but her ears must have been burning all day because I know her name was mentioned many times.....we all love you lots Julia.

All I'm sharing today is the things I took with me to share as I haven't manage to craft and create yet since I got back.

I made everyone one of my little felt teddies and wrote a little ditty to go with them....it's my way of spreading a bit of Annie's love.

I decided everyone had seen my Memory bears and thought I would make a special bear to commemorate the day.  I put him in the draw and Shaz was the lucky winner.....I have a feeling I may have to make one for every crop now :-)

These are some of the goodies I was kindly given by others who came to the crop....it was like Christmas  :-)

Shaz brought lots of yummy fabrics she shared between Jan, Jo and I.....I've stroked it all Shaz and am sure it will all be put to good use in the not too distance future.  Thanks so much.

That's all from me for this week.  I hope to have more to share next week, hoping I have a little more time to get it ready.  It's been a very exciting week for this bear of little brain.

This week's smiles....week 288

Happy Friday to you all.  It's been a really lovely week here with lots of birthday celebrations for little Theo who is two today so of course I have pics to share with you...

Happy birthday Theo.  As you can see he really enjoyed the celebrations...and the final pic just shows how much :-)

I really love this pic of Amy with her three enjoying their holidays. An afternoon siesta was insisted on  because of course it is 'French law' [isn't it? ;-) ]so it meant they were able to be happy and awake a little later in the evening.

Here's the twins with the Shrewsbury town football mascot.  They both went with their daddy to watch the match and even saw their first goal....even though I think it was an own goal!

And finally here's a pic for all you dog lovers.....Milly is having her manicure/pedicure.  I clip her nails then she has a cuddle and sits for me to file the rough edges off.  She's such a sweet heart.

That's all from me for this week.  I plan to be making more smiles this weekend as I am going to the crop in Llandudno to meet up with a lot of my blogging friends....some I've met before and some I've known for a long time but never met.....I'm soooooo excited.
Have a great week.

WOYWW....

Another week has flown past and here we are at our Wednesday catch up again.  It's been another busy week here at Sewing by Annie's.....nothing new there I hear you say.

I've finished the lap quilt I was making for my cousin in the care home.  I hope she loves it as much as I do and she benefits from a little hug from me each day.

I have had several last minute pairs of school trousers to shorten ready for going back to school yesterday....just as well I am happy to drop everything to get these last minute jobs done because they were only brought to me Monday morning with the instructions that they would pick them up later in the day!!

The middle of last week I received a parcel containing 16 ties in from a special lady with instructions to work my magic and make 4 Memory bears with them so.......

.....Abracadabra

I followed her instructions and this was the result.....I just hope she likes them as much as I enjoyed making them for her.

The other little job I was given this week was to make a Memory School Rabbit for a little girl starting school this week......rather cute isn't it?

That's all I can share with you for today.  I have been busy making things ready for the crop at the weekend but I can't share those with you as yet....maybe next week.

Thanks for calling in to see me.  I hope to get around as many blogs as possible later to see what you're all busy with.
Hugs,
Annie x
