This week's smiles....week 336

Here we are at my weekly catch up of smiles from the last week....and I'm thankful that there have been many so I will make a start....

Sunday saw us going on our [almost] regular walk with Milly to Attingham Park.  We went early before  the sun had burnt the cloud off, while it was cool enough to be comfortable to enjoy our walk.

This photo is from my favourite seat by the side of the water...its so lovely here.  We watch the birds and dragonflies and just generally enjoy the day from here.

Shell, Brent and twins are enjoying a few days at Disneyland Paris before the children go back to school so we've been sent many photos of them enjoying their holidays.

Tuesday was the first day for week's of us looking after Theo while his mummy went into school to set her class up ready for the start of the new term.

As you can see we joined Amy and her three for a play and picnic at their local play park....it was so lovely to see the children all playing together.

Our raised veg garden has taken on a new look....the cabbage white butterflies made use of our salad leaves and radishes to lay their eggs on and the caterpillars ate the best part of them so before sowing more seeds we have invested in a cage and net to keep them off.

As you can see the beetroot and carrots are growing well and we will soon be harvesting some.

After several quiet weeks of sewing while many of my customers have been holidaying I was thrilled to get a new order for three Memory bears this week and.....

.....even persuaded my new apprentice to do a bit of stuffing for me during a coffee break.

I doubt I will be giving him a full time job though cos when he'd had enough I had to add lots more stuffing because it looked rather thin....I think he was on an economy drive with the stuffing :-)

And finally but by no means least I thought I'd share a collage of some of the gorgeous colour that we still have in our back garden....we have really enjoyed an ever changing garden this summer and hope you've enjoyed sharing it with us.

Please leave me a little message so I know you've called by and, if you can then link to your own smiles below.
Hugs,

WOYWW....

Did you miss me?  I was MIA last week.  We had a long weekend braving the weather on the Welsh coast in the motor home and were back late on the Tuesday so I had nothing whatsoever to show you on my desk...and I'm sorry to say there's nothing very exciting this week but here goes....

It's nearly back to school time here so...

On my desk there's trousers to shorten and.....

.....on my rail are yet more trousers [no not school ones] that have already been shortened.

Exciting or what?

That's all I have to share with you today I'm sorry to say so I hope you've got something more exciting on your desk to show us this week....I will be over soon to pay you a visit.

Hugs,

This week's smiles....week 335

Another week and I've had lots to smile about so I will share a few pics with you....and hope you will all leave me a little message to say you've called by and will hopefully then share your own smiles with us.

Little Theo has been on holiday this week with his Mummy, Daddy, Uncle and the other set of Grandparents so they have sent us many photos to share what a lovely time they've been having together.

While the cat's away.....as the saying goes :-)

While Theo was away we popped round to their house to fit the little curtains I made for his new play house and as you can see Grandad had to climb inside to fit them....it was a bit of a squeeze but I'm pleased to say he managed to get back out :-)

We had a few days away at the Welsh coast at the weekend in our Motor home.  Sadly Michelle, Brent and the twins, who were supposed to join us but on Saturday they tried and failed to get their tent up in the strong winds and ended up breaking one of their tent poles and going back home.  The weather was awful and I was so glad they weren't in their tent on Sunday night because in the middle of the night it was blowing a gale and we were woke by a very heavy rain storm.....I really wouldn't have wanted to be in a tent in that!

The middle photo shows how the sea was whipped up by the wind....and if you zoom in you will see in the bottom right photo that Biscuit bear, Milly and I  stayed warm in the motor home while my darling hubby took the photo.  :-)

The top two photos were taken on Monday at Aberdovey and it was a much calmer day and we actually saw some sunshine. :-)

The twins very proudly picked the peas they had grown from seed,  podded them themselves and added them to their pasta tea.....yum yum.

And last but by no means least here's the latest photos of our little footy star.  Steve's been going to football training each week during his school holidays and really loving it.....he was chosen to go for a full day's experience at Shrewsbury Town FC where he went on a tour of the ground/changing facilities, met the players and also played on the pitch at half time during the game.  His big sisters, and Mum and Dad proudly went along to watch him play.

His trainers have requested that he also went to special training sessions for goalkeeping in Ludlow because they say he has real ability and skill for it.

He was given a skills award during his last session and they have now passed his details to the development team at Shrewsbury so watch this space....I'm so proud of him and love just how excited he is about it all.

That's all my smiles for this week.  I really hope you are all fit and well and have lot of your own smiles to share with us below.

This week's smiles....week 334

Another week and more smiles to share....I hope you have too.

Lexi has been helping her Daddy wallpaper Sam's bedroom....I used to love helping my Dad wallpaper so seeing her doing this made me smile.

Steve has been playing chef and making Salmon parcels for their tea.....I love seeing how they all like to cook.  Such independent children.

Yesterday, while weeding in our back garden Dod found this beast....it was huge so I googled it and this is what it should grow into.....

It's an Elephant Hawk's head moth and isn't it stunning?

Nature really is amazing.

I found this on Pinterest and it really made me chuckle.....getting fabric delivered while he's not here now is much harder now he's retired :-)

That's all my smiles for this week.  Please leave me a little message and then link up to your smiles below.  Lets all help to make the world a happier place.

WOYWW...

Another week and my desk has seen some action this week but not just by me...

I had the company of these two gorgeous girls on Saturday so I let them loose in my sewing room with my boxes of craft supplies and oh wow they really made my heart sing. They loved rooting through it all are both very creative and love making things together.....I just know now why I never throw anything out that could be used again.  :-)

At the weekend Theo had an early  birthday present and as you can see it has two windows so this is what's on my desk today.....

….two little pairs of blue check curtains.  Now all we need are the two stretchy elastics to hang them on for him.

That's all from me for this week so if yo leave me a message to let me know you've called in I will pop over to yours to see what you've been up to.

This week's smiles....week 333

Now that's a nice round number 333.  What a lot of smiles we've shared over the years too....keep them coming folks cos it sure makes the world a better place to be.

This week has been full of smiles for me so I've lots to share with you...

Sunday we had a ride out in the motor home to Bala and Biscuit bear posed for me to snap a pic looking out at all the people enjoying fun on the lake....we even saw a couple of dogs body boarding but Milly declined.

Amy's three have been enjoying days out in their camper van ....I love seeing them all playing together and doing just what children should be doing.

Steve has enjoyed a day's football training each week and this week he was asked to join in a special goal keeper's training session because the trainers can see a lot of potential in him....one very proud Nanny Annie here.

The twins and Theo have been away camping on the Welsh coast with their mummies this week....it sounded like they have had lots of fun together....if maybe not quite as much sleep as their mummies were hoping.

For her Dad's retirement Amy and family gave him a voucher to use at a really nice country pub which we enjoyed a meal at on Tuesday lunchtime this week...and the best thing is that it only used half of the voucher so we will be going back there soon to enjoy using the other half.  Thanks Amy and co. xxxx

We both had salmon and monk fish with new potatoes and salad for main then just had to enjoy one of their yummy desserts afterwards [I have to say mine was really yummy but a little too sweet for me so Dod had to finish it off for me...no hardship there].

Finally, last but by no means least was this thank you card I received this week.  It was so lovely to have feedback on a quilt I donated to raise money at our local children's hospice.  It was really nice to think my quilt had, in a small way, helped to raise such a huge amount for such a good cause.

That's all from me for this week.  If you can please link to your own smiles below and I will pop over to see what's been making you smile this week.

WOYWW...

Happy Whizday to you all.  These weeks are flying by aren't they.  It's been a busier one for me at Sewing by Annie's.  I finished the quilt I'd been asked to make and can share it here as the recipient doesn't read my blog but it may be a while before I can add it to my Facebook page as it is being given as a gift....

I made quilts for the first two little girls in the family so it was really lovely to be asked to make another on for little Freddie.

Then it was back to bear making for me.  This one with an added tie and....

…..this one with a bright orange bow.

I was also asked to make a little cushion for the one bear using the logo off the gentleman's jacket.

I love all the little extra challenges I'm given and the pleasure it gives my customers when they see the finished items.

Thanks for calling by this week.  If you leave me a little message to let you know you've called by I will do my best to pay you a return visit.

This week's smiles...week 332

Well, another week has flown by and here we are catching up with our smiles of the week.  As always I've had lots to smiles about so here's a few pics to share with you...

Our garden continues to keep producing blooms and making us smile.

With all the sunshine and rain we have been having our new raised vegetable bed is growing fast and, as you can see in the background, the tomatoes are ripening fast now.

This funny my son sent me this week
....do you think he's trying to tell me something?

That's all my shares this week.  Please leave me a little message so I know you've called by and, if you can, then link to your own smiles below.
