WOYWW....

I've not a lot to share with you today but am really pleased to say I've worked very hard with my business accounts and have now got them all up to date....thankfully.

It's been a busy week with coat alterations this week.....guess the 'Beast from the East' has had something to do with that......brrrrrr it's been cold.

The one photo I have to share with you for those that haven't seen it already over on my Facebook page is this little character....

It's a little Memory dog I was asked to make out of tiny babygros.  He also has a label to hang round his neck with the baby's name and all the details of his birth but I've been asked not to share it for obvious reasons.
He's rather cute isn't he?

I've also been commissioned to make two special quilts for two little girls.....one yet to arrive but due any time now. I am to applique the names on a panel in the middle of each quilt and they are to be in pinks, lemons, creams and be pretty and girly.  Of course I didn't have the materials my customer wanted me to use so I've had to order them and cant wait to get going on them.....I've done all the planning and printed off the lettering for the applique so I'm raring to go now.

That's all from me for this week.....hopefully more to share by next week.

This week's smiles....week 260

It's been another week filled with smiles here at Sewing by Annie's.

It's been half term holidays for the children so I've had several visits from the little people in my life and that always brings smiles.  I will share a few photos that have had me smiling....

With it being half term my two daughters had organised hair cuts for the children but without knowing they had all decided to be trimmed up on the same day and the children all like to let Nanny see how smart they all are so these pics all arrived within minutes of each other.  :-)

Sam's been wearing glasses for a while now but Lexi had been getting headaches after a busy day at school so now she's got glasses for close work so they are like a pair of bookends now.....both losing their baby teeth too as you can see.  It's costing the tooth fairy lots.  :-)

Yesterday morning the twins had been to our local garden centre making/decorating flower pots and Sam decided he wanted to give me the one he'd made....such a cutie.  :-)

Little Theo is on a skiing holiday in Italy with his mummy and daddy and their friends and here he is enjoying his croissant at the airport....yum yum. Couldn't you just eat him?

And here they are all togged up for the weather....don't you just love his shades?

Now if those pics haven't made you smile I'm sure this one will.  Milly likes to sit on the boss's knee in a morning while he eats his cereals and she was very happy to be used as a stand for his Ipad....maybe I should make a few dog Ipad stands?

She does make us smile.

That's all from me for today.  Please leave me a little message so I know you've called in and if you can then please link to your own smiles below....it's so lovely seeing what has made you all smile each week so many thanks to those who join in the fun.

WOYWW.....

Another week, same desks, different things to share this week.....

You will be pleased to know I've already cut into the fabrics I showed you last week and have made 8 Easter fabric 'boxes' to fill with Easter goodies.

This is one of the Memory bears I've made this week out of fabric from a Wedding dress.  She has some of the lace sewn on the front and is wearing her own little tiara ....I think she has to me my favourite [but I say that about them all].

This was the Memory bear I made for the lady who won my 600th celebration draw.  It's made out of her baby girls tiny babygros....they were that small that it took 4 of them to get enough fabric to make a bear with.....turquoise is my fav colour so I love this one too.

The other thing that's been going on here this week is a lot of long overdue catching up with my accounts for my business.....groan!!!
Not my favourite job to do but April will be here soon enough and I need to get my accounts up to date ready for the tax man.

So that's it from me for today really.....the book work will be keeping me out of mischief in between sewing jobs this week I'm sure.  I hope you have more exciting activities on your desk this week....I will do my best to pop over to see what you've been up to ASAP.

This week's smiles...week 259

Well hasn't that week flown?.....it has for me.

It's a quick post for me today featuring all the signs of spring in the garden this week.....

I just love Spring so the signs of Spring never fail to make me smile.

From the top....
  •  There are daffodils in bud and I have seen some already in bloom where they are a sunny sheltered spot so ours wont be long.
  • The crocuses are popping up everywhere...such sunny little faces
  • Where we put gravel on the flower beds in our back garden the tulips are pushing their way through now....we had been a little concerned to see how they would manage.  Isn't nature clever?
  • We even have a little primrose starting to flower....the leaves look a little nibbled by something so I'm hoping whatever nibbled those will leave the flowers alone.

So that's all I have to share with you today.  I hope the signs of Spring make you smile too.

WOYWW.....

Here we are again on the best day of the week when we all catch up with our blogging friends all around the world....if you don't know what I'm talking about what cave have you been living in for what seems like for ever?  Pop over to Julia's at the Stamping Ground to find out more and to join in the fun.

My desks today involve quilt making.  I have had a break from the demand of sewing for my customers for a few days and as my head was full of cold bugs I needed what I call a bit of mindless sewing to keep me busy without great demands being put on my brainpower so I decided to make a couple of eye spy quilts.

I got out my boxes of fabrics and carefully cut out 108 4" squares....enough for 2 quilts.  Each square is different to the next so all 54 has something different to search for and talk about.
I then sorted out enough fabric to make the borders for each quilt and had sufficient wadding but didn't have enough fabric for the backing pieces so ordered some on line from the company I use.

My name is Annie and I'm a fabricolic....

While shopping in Aldi's on Saturday morning they had fat quarter bundles in stock again and they are always far too good to miss out on so they fell into my trolley and when we got home from shopping my parcel of plain cotton fabrics I use for backing my quilts had arrived too....a girl can never have too much fabric ....can she?

As you can see I've already put some of the plain backing fabric to good use as I've now completed my two quilts....but you may notice the fat quarters are stacked on the top of the photos as I may need to stroke those just a little more before I cut into them.  😁😁😁😁

That's all from me for this week....I wonder what I will have on my desk next week to share with you?  I will do my best to get round as many of my visitors that I can and until then I hope you all have happy, healthy and creative times during the week.

This week's smiles....week 258

I hope you like my new header photo?....just that is enough to make me smile this week.....I love Spring and snowdrops always mean it's on it's way to me.  The daffodils are also starting to open in sunnier spots too so it wont be long now.

Here's a few photos of Attingham Park where we like to take Milly at least once a week....as you can see the snowdrops there are amazing at the mo....I just had to share them with you all.

I promised you I would share a pic of the bridesmaids I had here this week....they were really lovely girls and were happy for me to share the photo.....we had such a giggle over the jeans, leggings, boots and trainers and how maybe they wouldn't really go so well on the big day with their dresses.

I don't often share photos with me in them but this one was rather special to me.  Little Theo is now thankfully much better from his croup and was so pleased to see me this week.  I keep a big teddy here and all the grandchildren love to play with him and you can see Theo brought him to me so we could all have a group hug.  He's such an affectionate little man and is so like his daddy who even now greets me with hugs and kisses and never fails to tell me how much he loves me......I'm blessed.

My final smile for today is something I saw on Pinterest this week.  You may need to click on the pic to enlarge it so you can read the labels but it's me to perfection....right down the the pins held in my mouth!!  It really made me chuckle.

There you go.  I hope something has made you smile and you will leave me a little comment before you link up to your own smiles below.  I hope you all have a great week filled with reasons to smile.

WOYWW....

Hello all. It's been a slightly different week for me here at Sewing by Annie's.  The special offer on my Memory Bears over on my Facebook page ended at the end of January so the orders for my bears have eased a little but I was thrown another challenge.....could I make a Memory Dog?

You all know I like a challenge so it was back to the drawing board to design a dog and here's the first reveal....

I've made him with fabric with little hearts on and have called him Valentine.  He has a cute little tail too and my customer loved him and has ordered on to be made out of her little boys babygros with a special label around his neck with the details of his birth on it.....I plan to launch him over on my Facebook page soon but until then it's a secret just between us.

The other thing I've been doing this week is alterations to these lovely bridesmaids dresses....as well as the rest of the items behind on them on the rail.

The three bridesmaids were really lovely girls and allowed me to take a pic of them wearing the dresses.....but that photo will be over on my Friday's smile post so be sure to check it out....it sure made me chuckle.

That's all from me for this week as I have succumbed to the bugs going around the family and have a tiresome cough and head cold with earache....hubby has had a really sore throat too so we have been looking after one another this week.

Until next week I hope you stay well and happy and enjoy lots of creative times.

This week's smiles....week 257

Here we are at another catch up of the week's smiles before the weekend.  Many thanks to each and every one of you who join in each week by sharing their smiles.

I've had a really productive January here at Sewing by Annie's and February is looking promising too so I have lots to smile about.  My shares are for the boys this week....

There has been many bugs around the family lately.  Big sister, Jo had a flu type bug, Lulu had something similar,  Sam had a sickness bug and little Theo has had croup.  Thankfully they are all shaking the bugs off now and are feeling rather better.

Little Theo had been lacking energy and had no appetite but this photo came to show me how much better her was so it really made me smile....he's decided to try riding on his favourite pull along toy.

You will all know I've been making dolly clothes and I'm more than happy to make for the boys as well as the girls....my son chose the have a dolly as a special treat as a little one, he called it Frances and I'm sure it helped to make him the wonderful dad he is now :-)

Steve asked if I could make something for his toy monkey to wear so I cut down a t shirt he had grown out of and remade it to fit Kit his monkey....as you can see from the smile he was rather pleased with it.

When Sam saw the pink dressing gowns I made for the girls he asked me to make him a blue one for his dolly but as you can see it also fits his toy monkey too.  :-)

As you can see I get a lot of satisfaction out of the things I make.  :-)

The other huge smile I would like to share with you all is that my Sewing by Annie Facebook Page has now reached 600 followers so to celebrate there is a gift draw over there.  If you follow me on facebook please pop over there and get your name in the draw.....even if we had to use the post for any prize won nothing is impossible and it would be really lovely if one of you won it.....Good luck x
