WOYWW....

Hello all.  Wednesday is the day we join in the fun of checking out all the creative desks of our friends around the world...and all are welcome to join in.  Just pop over to Sarah's blog at Sarah's Craft Shed to check out details and join in the fun.

I've had another busy week here at Sewing by Annie's.  Sally from Harry Johnson's Trust called in on Saturday to collect all the things I'd made for their up and coming craft sales so my desks were emptied...and she really loved all the things I'd made....so I have been working on making more in between my customer's sewing....I never like to sit idle.

I appliqued and machine embroidered covers for 10 shopping list sized books...I love the crazy frogs best.

I made 6 lengths of bunting...10 flags and approximately 2 metre length each.

I've made another school Memory Bear....I love purple and I think the lilac ribbon and buttons are lovely on this one.

I also learnt an important lesson....do not drop your sharp pointy ended scissors off your work surface onto your toe!!!  It really hurt and bled lots.....I will be more careful in the future.

That's me for this week.  I hope you will leave me a little message so I know you've called by and I will pop over to yours as soon as I can.

Hugs,

Annie x

WOYWW.....

Here we are at another catch up with our creative friends all around the world...it's my favourite day of the week you know :-)

I've had a little more creative play time and here's my Spring wreath as far as it at the mo....

I've made lots more flowers and leaves but it's all just placed on the covered wire ring so far...I think I need to make more snowdrops yet.

I've made my first set of 4 Memory bears of 2024 which brings my bear count up to 799 :-)

It would have been 800 but I had one customer who cancel their appointment twice, made a third appointment but then messaged me to say she had changed her mind because she had decided she couldn't afford one this month!!  I do have 4 more bears coming at some point so I will soon be over the 800 but it really annoys me when customers mess me about.

That's all from me for this week.  I have a dentist appointment today so it may be later when I can get around all my favourite blogs....but I will do my best asap.

Have a great week all.

WOYWW....

Good morning all.  I hope I find you all well and happy this Wednesday.  I've had a couple of customers this week and have repaired the sleeve on a blouse and shortened a couple of pairs of jeans so far but have Memory bears on their way through the post :-)

This has given me a little time to be creative [if only I can get motivated lol].

I love making the Christmas wreath so much and it made me smile every time I walked past my sewing room door, where it was hanging, that I thought I'd have a go at making one covered with Spring flowers so I sorted through several Spring coloured fabrics and ironed stiff interfacing on the back of each to make the machine embroidery easier.

Spring is on it's way :-)

I've made a start with a couple of Daffodils and snowdrops so far and rather like how they are turning out so far....what do you think?

That's all from me for today.  Please leave me a little message so I know you've called by and I will do my best to pay you a return visit as soon as I can.

WOYWW....

Oh what a lovely week I've had.....Christmas cards are in the making and we've had very special visitors up from South Wales.

I've been doing a bit of strip quilting to cut up for my Christmas cards....and have really enjoyed making them.

My little assistant has been 'helping' sort out the felt ready for a crafting session at Jo's on Tuesday.....every time I pull out one of my boxes she jumps in to 'help' and actually curled up and fell asleep in this one. :-)

Sunday teatime we all met up for a Sunday roast dinner....the food was really good and the company was even better.

Tuesday morning Jan joined Jo and I for a crafty day at Jo's.  Jan enjoyed an hour or maybe more ;-) sorting through the huge box of my donated fabrics and filled a box with stuff that she could use for her makes for the RNLI....this really made me smile.

Jo provided a yummy lunch...[thanks Jo] and in the afternoon we all sat around Jo's dining table on sewing machines and enjoyed some free machining time to eventually make a Christmas wreath with what we made....they may take a while to make but I'm sure you will see the finished results at some point :-)

All in all we had a wonderful time chatting, creating and enjoying each others company....life should be filled with days like that.

It is a Louie fun day today so please be patient with me but I will drop by to see what you've been up to as soon as I can.

WOYWW.....

Hi all.  I hope it's rather warmer and drier where you are today......brrrrrr and they call this summer!!

I think most of my customers have gone on holiday at the mo so my desk today is a quiet one and not worth sharing but I do have a few snaps of what I've been doing on it this week...

Last week I was in the process of planning / making a tissue box cover for my new sewing room so I've snapped a couple of pics of it now it's finished....

Every side has a handy pocket on it for all the bits and bobs I use in my sewing room and the one side even has a pin cushion.....hope you like it as much as me :-)

The other finished item I'm sharing with you today is a card I made using one of the little dumflings I've made.  I've mounted it on a toning pretty piece of fabric and edged it with machine embroidery....rather pretty isn't it? :-)

That's all I've got to share with you today.  I hope you've enjoyed your visit and will leave me a little message to let me know you've called by so I can pay you a return visit.

WOYWW....

It's a quick post from me today.  Life here is keeping me pretty busy.

On my desk today is...

I've snatched a few creative minutes and have done some machine embroidery on the dumfed pieces I made a couple of weeks ago....they are still not finished pieces.  I will add more embroidery and a few beads etc to finish them when I get a few more creative minutes of play time.

This is what is taking up a lot of our time at the mo.  Last week the builders put the new door and two windows in the end of what will be my new sewing room and since then we have been preparing the space where they will build our new kitchen/dining room extension ....exciting times and a lot of mess to come yet.  :-)

That's it from me today....I said I would be quick :-)  Please leave me a little hello message to let me know you've called by and I will pop over to yours to say hello ASAP.

WOYWW...

Happy Wednesday to you all.  Here we are at yet another fun day of the week when we can all go snooping round the world at each others creative spaces.  If you want to find out more or would like to join in the fun then pop over to the Stamping Ground where Julia will have the links with all the details.

I have had some free time this week because Shell is now thankfully well enough to be able to do more herself  and hasn't needed me at hers every day. I'm certain all your kind wishes have aided her speedy recovery so thank you all for caring so very much....you really are such a lovely bunch.

In my spare time this week I've been making a start on a few ideas for Christmas.....some of which of course I can't share with you just yet but I am happy to show you my start to my Christmas cards for this year....

I spent a while searching for ideas on Pinterest and decided to have a go at some free machining with red on white fabric using a few designs that I rather liked.

Here are the eight that I've decided on so far.

After free machining the designs I trimmed each of them and rather liked them mounted on the red fabric so..

I mounted them each on a piece of red fabric and have machine embroidered each of them in place.

A closer view of a couple of them so you can see the machine embroidery detail.  I then trimmed the red fabric to leave a border and have now mounted them on white cards.
I plan to make prints of my 8 designs to use for the rest of my Christmas cards.  I hope you've enjoyed seeing my making process.

Thanks for calling by today.  Please leave me a little comment to let me know you've called and I will pop over to yours to say hello.

WOYWW....

Hello my WOYWW friends.  I did manage to call in to see most of you last week but was unable to leave you comments as we were AWOL for a few days [see yesterday's post].  I'm happy to report that I managed to recharge my batteries and came home raring to go again.  :-)

So what is on my work desk today?

My best find of my holiday!
We had coffee in a little cafe in Harlech.  The other half of the shop was an old fashioned sweet shop with shelves full of sweets in jars.  I got talking to the shop owner because I can no longer get empty jars round home and he said he had so many that he struggles to find homes for them!!
Of course I couldn't let this chance pass me by so for a donation in his charity box I left with 6 new jars to put my ribbons into....my old ones had cracked.  Trust me when I say....I'm easily pleased.  :-)

Since coming home I have now finished the first little dragonfly picture.....it's only about 10.5cm square but I'm rather thrilled with it.  I will probably upload it into the shop at some point if anyone is interested in buying it.

Monday afternoon was spent crafting and creating with Jo and our friend T and we spent it doing little appliqued and free machined characters...it's def a case of practise makes perfect and I have a feeling I have a way to go yet but they are rather cute.

That's about it for me for today.  Tomorrow is the munchkins 1st birthday so there will be lots of celebrations going on this week.....there is more news to share with you but I am saving that til my Friday post....aren't I a tease?  :-)
Thanks for dropping by and leaving me your lovely comments.  I promise I will do my best to leave you return comments this week.
Hugs,
