What a week it's been here at Sewing by Annie's....lots of smiles but no sewing. I had nothing to share on my desk on Wednesday for that very reason.
We had the boys here for a long weekend so we had lots to smile about. We not only had fun time at home but we went for a ride on the Easter train from Llanfair Caereinion to Welshpool and even saw the Easter bunny who gave the boys an Easter egg each.
Wednesday night we went to Theatre Severn to watch Sam taking part in Nemo [Junior]....he played 5 different parts and the whole show was amazing. We really do have a lot of very talented children in and around Shrewsbury.
So very proud of you Sam xxxx
That just leaves me to share a few funnies with you. I hope you have all had a week filled with smiles and you will leave me a little message before linking up your smiles below.
I'm sorry to say I've struggled to find smiles this week because our little Milly died very suddenly and totally unexpected on Saturday evening...I'm broken hearted. She has left a huge hole in our lives sadly.
I think someone has heard the news about Milly because he wouldn't have dared come into the garden if she was still alive....black humour but it did make us smile.
Louie makes us smile every day when he comes to play...he's growing up and changing every day.
We went to watch Sam perform in Frozen at Theatre Severn on Sunday...he was brilliant in every part he played. We are so very proud of the young man he is becoming.
The only other things I have to share with you are the funnies I've found this week....I hope something here makes you smile.
It's been a busy week for me with lots of sewing here at Sewing by Annie's.
I have.....
Shortened 4 bridesmaid's dresses and altered 3 of them
Shortened 2 prom dresses and have another coming for her fitting this morning.
Replaced the elastic in the waistband of a pretty dress
Have also had lots of other customers needing fittings.
I love busy weeks...it keeps me smiling. It's been half term holidays for the schools so we haven't had the boys this week for a fun day but they did send us this gorgeous photo....
They are on holiday down in North Devon and it sounds like they are having a wonderful time.
Tuesday evening we went to watch Sam in The Little Mermaid on the main stage at Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury. He was miked up and had lots of lines to say plus had to sing too. It was a brilliant show and its so lovely to see his confidence grow....proud Nanny moments.
Here's the latest collage of our garden flowers this week....there is always something to make us smile out there.
I've only found a couple of funnies this week so hope they make you smile too.
We are off on a well earned adventure later today so it may depend on the internet where we are as to whether I can leave comments this week but I will do my best.
It was my birthday Monday and at last I have reached 66 which means I can recieve my state pension.....but for those thinking I will be stopping sewing I wont. I love my job so will be continuing to sew. I may a little more selective on the jobs I take on and will def be enjoying my time with the grandchildren and the time we spend on adventures in our caravan but I do plan to carry on working, at least for a while yet.
I've had some beautiful flowers and even had a Happy Retirement balloon plus I have been spoilt rotton with a lovely meal out and a trip to the theatre to see Vincent Simone [of Strictly come dancing fame] in his Argentine Tango dance show....it was amazing.
We are back to the theatre tonight to see Sarah Milligan and I am really looking forward to that.
I completed the first 'gifted' Advent calendar and when I went to cut the second one out I discovered it was actually two folded up together so I have now made 3 and will be selling them for the Harry Johnson trust.
Now this is def a coincidence. On my desk today is two piles of clothing to make bears from.
The turquoise set on the right hand side is to have a school bear made for a little girl who has just left school in Australia.
The white/grey set is to make 3 memory bears for a lady who lives in Australia and they will be flying out to their new home when finished.
I'm conquering the world folks :-)
That's all from this OAP for today. I will do my best to pop over to yours as soon as I can but it's a fun day with Louie today so please be patient with me.
Here we are at our weekly catch up of smiles to share with friends ....I'm sure it makes the world a happier place.
It's been a busy week here at Sewing by Annie's and the thing that's made me smile most is that I have now completed the huge bag full of factory trousers and it was collected yesterday....so that is the end of another era. :-) :-) I have had several other customers and have completed their sewing too so it makes me smile lots because we are off on another adventure this morning :-) :-)
We have had two lovely days with grandparent duties...
Louie is becoming more independant every day...he is now sitting on a booster seat at the table because he insists he is far too big to sit in a high chair :-) :-)
He has had a really nasty cough and has needed lots of hugs and cuddles this week....its horrible to see him poorly but I have really enjoyed the extra cuddles.
Sam was performing in Spongebob the musical at Theatre Severn this week and we went to watch him on Wednesday night.
It was an amazing show with so many very talented young people....we really enjoyed it and I think Sam was rather sad it had come to an end.
I thought you would all like to see the flowers that are still making us smile in our garden....I'm guessing as it gets colder we will loose many of them but it's so lovely to enjoy them while we can....and share them.
Finally I have a few funnies to share with you...I hope they raise a smile.
I will do my best to pop round to see what you've been up and hopefully I can leave you a comment...if not then please forgive me.....I will hopefully be making memories and finding lots more to smile about.
So many weeks filled with smiles :-) It's really good therapy to search out the smiles from the previous week and we can never have too many smiles can we? Please feel free to join in by linking up to your happy posts....the more the merrier and everyone is welcome.
At the end of last week Phoebe and Lulu took part in the colour run at their school...they get covered in powder paints while they run around their school field and raise a lot of money for their school....the girls had a lot of fun doing it and there were lots of smiley, colourful faces.
At the weekend we went to Theatre Severn to watch the twins in My Son Pinocchio....it was a brilliant show with so many talented youngsters in it and it's so lovely to see their confidence growing with each show they are in....they played the parts of puppets and had to dance and mime etc. Such proud Grandparents, Parents and other family members went to watch them.
The garden is continuing to make us smile each week...as one plant finishes blooming another takes over...I love it.
I will do my best to leave comments but may struggle as it's another weekend of adventure for us....this time near Buxton.
Of course it wouldn't be a Friday without a few funnies....I hope you've found something to make you smile.
We've had such a lovely week here filled with lots of smiles.....
Saturday night I went to Theatre Severn with my darling hubby and my much older sister to see Skerryvore [a Scottish folk band] and they were brilliant....a great tonic for us all.
Their support group was called The Eves....two girls with amazing voices.....I could have listened to them all night too.
Sunday evening we went back to Theare Severn to watch Lexi's dance show ...she was amazing. She had danced all afternoon doing a few duets and the evening was the group dances [I have edited the photos to exclude the other children so they have blurred a little].
She really has developed into a confident and talented young dancer and it was thrilling to watch...such proud moments.
Little Louie is growing up far too quickly. He's walking a little more each day and loves to climb too!!
I had him all to myself on Tuesday afternoon and he was back on Thursday for another play day....we really enjoy our fun times together.
The garden has beautiful flowers everywhere I look now and I know you will enjoy sharing them.
Of course it wouldn't be a Friday without a few funnies...I hope something here makes you smile.
Hugs,
Annie x
Oops I've cut off the last line of this one when I made the collage....thanks for the heads up Angela xxxx
We've had a lovely week this week and there's been many smiles.
On Friday night we went to Theatre Severn to see....
Shrek Junior...It was brilliant and there were so many very talented young people in it....we are so luck to have such a well used theatre in Shrewsbury.
Of course we had personal reasons for going too...
Lexi was performing in it [proud Nanny moments]. These are the 4 parts she played...she sang and danced and her confidence has really grown now....It's wonderful to watch.
It was our 41st Wedding Anniversary on 17th which would have been my Dad's 103rd birthday....such happy memories of our special day.
Our grandchildren asked why Grandad looked like Elton John :-)
I made my dress and it always makes me smile. It had a full length train and I felt like a queen in it.
The wedding cake makes us laugh because, if you noticed the wall heater behind us, the icing under the pillars started to give way and they had to be supported with cardboard before it toppled over.
My bouquet was made up with freesias and when it arrived from the florist several of the freesias were dead and had to be removed and other flowers moved into the spaces left.
So many happy, happy [and often funny] memories.
Of course I just have to share our garden flowers ....the tulips are simply stunning in the sunshine so hope you love my new header pic as much as I do.
I've just the one funny today...funny? yes but it has a serious message. We are trying to teach the children that it's not necessarily who they think on the internet.
I may struggle to leave messages this week but will do my best...more about that next week ;-)
I'm a little later today....I forgot to write it and automatically publish it last night so I'm up at silly o'clock this morning to write it [because I have a very full day sewing today and can't do it later].
It's been another manic week here at Sewing by Annie's but I have had lots of smiles on the way.
We went to watch Lexi and Sam performing in Nativity the Musical at Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury on Friday night....had to buy the programme of course because they were in it :-)
The show was amazing and made even more so when your grandchildren are in it. It was Sam's first time on the big stage [Lexi has been living the dream for a couple of years now] and it is really lovely to see their confidence grow.
Tuesday saw me going to an opticians appointment and needing new glasses....over £300!! Not something to smile about really but following that I have had enough work in to pay for them....it never fails to amaze me how this often happens to me.
Later in the day I had my Diabetic MOT and they are very pleased with my Diabetes now....losing over 3 stone has really helped.
Little Louie is growing fast and this week he's been to a photo shoot so I thought I would share a few of the gorgeous photos with you. He's at such a lovely age now and seems to be changing every time we see him.
Of course it wouldn't be a Friday without a few funnies. I hope you've all had a good week and have something you can link up at the bottom of the page to share with us.
Another week has passed and, of course, I have found lots to make me smile.
It was a week filled with excitement for our little Granddaughter Lexi. She has been in Elf on the main stage at Shrewbury Theatre. It was the first time on the main stage and she was brilliant in it....very proud Nanny Annie moments......and yes there was more that a tear or two.
I'm so excited to be able to now share some wonderful news with you [I've been given permission]. Our son Mark and his wife Gina are expecting a little brother for Theo.
There have been many weeks of worrying/waiting but Gina had a scan this week and the consultant yesterday confirmed that all is well and it's a little boy due in April....I can't wait.
You may have seen on Wednesday that I returned the new sewing machine and replaced it for a better one because the first one failed to do the jobs I needed it for.
While we at the sewing machine shop my hubby asked about my old machine, how much it would cost to have it fixed and what the E1 Error message actually meant. He said it could be serious or possibly it could be something as simple as a new fuse but that it was a difficult thing to replace because of it's location.
Of course there was nothing to lose so Hubby took it apart [with a little assistance from Mark] and replaced the fuse......hey presto!! It's mended....I'm so very proud of him/them.
Finally keeping in mind that we may be getting some snow soon I thought I'd share this funny I saw on Facebook.
It made me chuckle.
Please leave me a little message so I know you've called by and then share your smiles by linking up below.
It's been one of those weeks when I've had to go searching for smiles to share because I've had an UTI and it's taken the wind out of my sails for a few days. It wasn't helped that when I rang our surgery they said they had had a few cases of Covid there and were very short staffed so I took myself off to the chemist instead. They gave me treatment but said if things didn't improve I should contact the surgery again for antibiotics....they didn't help much sadly so I did as I was told and now have antibiotics...fingers crossed they do the job soon.
So here's my round up of smiles I can share...
We have completed the jigsaw puzzle I was given for my birthday...the lovely thing has been that each of the grandchildren has done a bit when they have visited.
You will notice the top pic is what was on the box but the actual jigsaw was of what happened next so very different to the pic....it was real fun to do.
We have a new little fur baby in the family. Meet Betsy...she is actually Poppy's half sister....same mum but black lab was her dad. She's just gorgeous and has already settled in very well.
Hubby treated us to the local theatre last Friday to see The Secret garden film. As you can see they had put crosses on all the seats not to be used to keep us all socially distanced. There were far more crosses than people but it was so lovely to go out and feel very safe. It was a brilliant film too.
This is Phoebe sitting at the desk her mum and dad have bought her for her birthday today....she's 12!!!
Looking very grown up too don't you think?
This is my last pic for this week ...just to make you giggle. Milly really doesn't like fireworks and I've seen that putting a chopped off sock over their ears helps reduce stress. This was actually her little jumper folded back on itself and it did seem to help....but she was having none of it of course and it was back off 5 minutes later.
I hope you are all staying safe and well and will share your smiles by linking up below.
