WOYWW...

I'm back  :-)  Wahooooo

As you may well know we were kept waiting til 11 o'clock on Thursday 14th to even know for sure that we were moving on Friday 15th August but we wasted no time in getting our two little dogs booked into the kennels and confirming the move with our removal company [who come highly recommended...they were brilliant].
Removal day went like clockwork and here is the last snap of the sewing room that was....

Just the last couple of Ikea boxes waiting to be packed :-)

There were no emotions on leaving the home that had belonged to our family for over 66 years...I think we had been so traumatised by it all that I was just glad to lock the door.

But as we collected these keys the tears flowed.....don't think I could really believe it was really happening.

Fitting a 4 bed roomed house into a little 2 bed roomed bungalow meant that boxes were stacked high but in the last two week we have emptied most of the essentials and the rest will be emptied when we have done the building work that we have planned.

These were the treasures found in our new back garden....lots of sorting out needed but it's a south facing back garden and it's a good size so has real potential.

This will eventually be my sewing room!!!  Who does this to a modern little bungalow?  It's a fab sized room but we plan to remove all the Tudor style cladding and plaster it out before I use it.

So.....here's what you really came here to see [and I'm not sorry it's taken me sooooooo long to get round to showing you my work desk this week cos I've lots to show you and am soooooooo excited with our new home].
It's only temporary but this is my work desk til we get the alterations done.....and it's already been put to good use as I've had two customers needing sewing already!! ....and for the eagle eyed amongst you yes that is my new sewing machine all set up in the middle of the picture and it sews like a dream.  :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

There you go girls.  I really hope you like my new work desk.  I'm sure it will change from week to week as we get to work on the decorating and building projects but trust me when I say I won't be moving again any time soon!!!

I just need to add a huge thank you for the lovely comments left for me on Jo's blog over the last couple of weeks and for the lovely cards some of you sent us.

Hugs,

This week's smiles....week 69

Phew! What a week it's been.

We had some really fab posts linked up last week so many thanks to all that joined in the fun.  This week I'm featuring Laura's fab pic of her sparrowhawk that found it's way onto a page in the Mid Sussex Times.  Thanks for sharing it with us Laura and huge congrats to you.

So folks what has made me smile this week?.....now where do I start?

It could be the little matter that yesterday morning I sold the house and bought a bungalow.  :-)  As you can imagine I'm not getting too excited til we actually have the keys in our hands this time but I know it's the news so many of you wonderful blogging friends out there has been waiting for.

Or it could be that Wednesday evening we picked this little run about up for me from the garage...

It's a little blue Citroen C3 but as you can see it has flowers on the back and on the back window it says...Powered by Fairy dust.  It's certainly made me smile and of course has put a smile on the faces of my little Grandchildren.  :-)

Or of course it could be this latest pic Shell sent me of Lexi.....that girl sure has attitude  :-)
I think she may be on the stage one day and as last Saturday she went to her first ballet class and really loved it I wouldn't be surprised by anything.

As you can imagine it's been quite a week for us....I'm a little stunned as yet with all that's happened but am sure it will all sink in soon.  :-)  :-)  :-)
If you have something that has made you smile this week please link it up below and share it with us.

This week's smiles....week 46

Firstly let me say a huge thank you for all those who joined in the fun this week.  I do love visiting you all to see what has made you smile and it's so good of you all for linking them up here so others can share it too.

My featured blog this week just had to be Sam's joke about the remote control...maybe it's just appreciated by those of us or a certain age who likes to snooze while hubby watches telly in bed but it certainly made me chuckle....thanks Sam.

Well folks, it's been another of those sort of roller coaster weeks here for us.

Tuesday saw us accepting an offer on our house and having our offer accepted on the bungalow of our dreams....I know we have a long way to go yet but we are keeping everything crossed that we will have a move in the new year.  :-)

Wednesday was a downward slope of the roller coaster....I was rung first thing in the morning by the twins mummy, Shell to say both twins were on their way to A and E!!!  It really isn't a good thing to spread Vick's vapour rub all over your face, all over your clothes and even in your hair and then try eating it!!!  [ you really wouldn't think they would go near it would you?]  I shut the shop and drove straight in to help [sewing can wait at times like this can't it?]....how ever good a mum you are these things happen and to cope with two children just isn't possible when you only have one pair of hands.

They were assessed in A and E....including a 12 lead ECG to check their hearts....Vick really is serious stuff and can cause all sorts of problems.  The poisins guidelines meant they had to be monitored for 6 hours before they could be allowed home.  Thankfully they had no effects and enjoyed their free lunch and play day with all the toys!!!  And now we can all laugh at it all so I am sharing a couple of pics of the two little monkeys....they really do gang up on who every is looking after them and get up to all sorts of mischief.  :-)

You only get one bed for two year old twins and here they are pretending to be asleep!  Needless to say it was a long 8 hour day when neither of them could actually have their nap in just one bed!

Here they are enjoying their fish fingers, chips and mixed veg and the chocolate pudding went down well too.  :-)

Needless to say Mummy and Nanny had to spend all day without even a cup of coffee so we both went home with headaches feeling totally shattered lol.

A good night's sleep was had by all on Wednesday night and I can assure you there was a house full in Shrewsbury that had beautifully clear heads with a house smelling very strongly of Vick!!!

That's all from me for this week so please join in the fun and link up your happy posts below some time before next Friday when I will feature the one that makes me smile the most.
