This week's smiles...... week 66

We have now reached 66 weeks of wonderful happy postings.....thanks to all that have taken part.  Some pop in most weeks to join in and some only share now and then but I love them all.  They make us smile and lift the spirits....and that's got to be good for us hasn't it?.....keep up the good work girls.

This week I am featuring Sylvia's blog with the latest addition to the new grandbabies in the blogging world....a huge welcome to little Savannah....isn't she just gorgeous?  Thanks for sharing Sylvia.

I've been filling my days this week with positive thoughts to lift the 'moving house' gloom that has been hanging over us and have really needed to look no further than the gorgeous colours that surround us here in our garden.  I have just popped outside and snapped away with my camera to share just a few of them with you....

I dare you not to be smiling now. :-)

There are blue bells, white bells, forget me nots [ my dad's fav flower and it would have been his 94th birthday on 17th April ], lilac, crab apple blossom, miniature daffs, pink double tulips, rosemary in full bloom and in the middle is the gorgeous raspberry ripple azalea that Jo bought us for our 32nd Wedding anniversary on April 17th [yes we got married on Dad's birthday :-) ].  What gorgeous colours eh?  I have so much to smile about.  I hope you will find a snap or two of what's making you smile this week and link them below to share yours with us.

This week's smiles...week 18

It's been another fab week full of happy posts so many thanks to all who joined in.

I have chosen Nan Gs blog over at Froggy Designs this week to feature with the photo of her chilled out cat.....If only we could chill out the way only animals know how eh?  :-) Love it.

As most of you know a month ago I was diagnosed as being diabetic and last night I went for my first weigh in.  I have been very sensible with what I have eaten and to be honest although it took me a little while to get my head around it all I really haven't missed much.  I came home from the Dr's with a huge grin on my face cos I have lost.....

wait for it.....

12lbs!!!!!

I am so thrilled and am  already feeling the benefits  :-) :-) :-)

I have another little video to make you smile this week.  I know they are only 19 months old but our little twinny munchkins love to play make believe.  Here they are going shopping together....I think you can tell who is playing Mum  :-)

They really do give their Mum and Dad so much pleasure and make so many people smile.  I'm sure you are smiling now too  :-)

The other thing that has made me smile this week is the beautiful blossom that is coming out on our crab apple tree [my new header picture].  I just love the gorgeous deep pink colour and the dark colours on the leaves.

Hope you have enjoyed your visit today and will now snap away and share a pic of what has made you smile this week.  I have to go to the hospital for my first diabetic eye test today so might be a little late calling by to see what's made you smile this week but I will call by ....I promise.

Hugs,
Annie x

A bit of colour to end the week....

I have popped out in our garden to add a bit of colour to my blog and brighten a rather gloomy day.

We seem to have everything from this beautiful white of this shrub through to...

...the delicate blues of the Forget me nots.

The brightest yellows of the Mahonia and......

....the delicate yellow of miniature daffodils.

The orangy yellow of the Kerria japonica now in full bloom.

This is the tree that gave me so much inspiration last year.  I'm thrilled to say it is already starting to come into bloom....

Here is just one of the beautiful early blooms on the crab apple tree above.

Here is the picture that I made this time last year using this inspiration.

Isn't it lovely to be able to use the inspiration that is all around us to produce works of art.  :-)

WOYWW.....

Good morning to one and all. I really hope you are all having a really good week. What's on my work desk today?

Trousers ! Trousers ! Trousers ! Trousers ! I had a new customer ring me yesterday morning asking if she could bring some trousers for me to shorten....what she didn't add was there were 10 pairs of them! So, guess what I'm doing today? To be honest they are already half done.

Yesterday was catch up Tuesday after another really fab fun day Monday. This is my 'finished' rail and you can see....I finished major alterations on a gorgeous turquoise jacket, put a button and buttonhole on the top of a pair of shorts, shortened 2 pair of jeans, took the hood off a hooded jacket and made a little stand up collar for it, shortened the sleeves on a coat, repaired a school jumper.....and half did the 10 pair of trousers! Oh and I stopped work at 3.30 to have my coffee with my friend who always calls on a Tuesday :-) [a girl's just got to have some fun too!]

This is what I would really like to get to play with later today. I have dyed some fabric pale blue to work a picture of crab apple blossom onto. I have 4 little pics of branches off my tree for inspiration and reference and have sorted some gorgeous fabrics in the colours I want to use. You can also see the latest poppy picture and little Candy clown insisted on getting in the picture. [You can see him in detail in the last blog.]

For the garden lovers amongst you this is the crab apple tree in all it's glory that is just outside my kitchen window. Isn't nature wonderful? I am surrounded by inspiration for my pictures.

Thanks for dropping in and leaving all your lovely comments. Please pop over to Julia the queen on snoop's and join in the fun by showing us your work desk.
