WOYWW...

What a lot has happened since you came here last.....
  • The last three old doors have been replaced with three new ones in our bungalow [still needing painting of course].
  • Hubby has grouted two walls in the newly tiled shower room and fitted the new shower....still to finish the other walls and plumb in the washbasin.
  • Plumbers organised for this Thursday to fit our new gas fire and surround in the living room.
  • Carpet fitters are booked in for next Tuesday to fit carpets in our spare bedroom and living room and flooring in the new shower room, utility and old hall.
Oh and of course I had a table at a craft fair on Saturday afternoon.  Here's the proof...

The fair was a money raiser for the twins Pre-school so I only filled my table with child friendly goods.  I didn't expect to sell a lot but was more than happy to support the cause and to let folk know who I was and where they could find me if they needed sewing doing.  Lots of my fliers were handed out and I made enough to cover my costs so I was thrilled to bits.....plus of course I was surrounded by my wonderful family members who came to help and support so all in all a wonderful afternoon was had by all.

Now to what is on my work desk this week.  I've been quietly been working on this for a little while but can now share my latest baby blanket with you and some very exciting news.......God willing I am going to have another little grandchild arriving in September.  Our son, Mark and his wife Gina are expecting their first baby so it's all very exciting.

Of course I know you will all want to see the photo of the 12 week scan that I have been allowed to share with you .....

Meet a very chilled out little baby......looks like he's sunbathing to me. :-).....and at just over 2" from it's head to it's bottom it never fails to amaze me just how perfect they look......can you tell I'm doing a happy dance here? :-)

So folks that's it from me for today.  I have more smiles that I will share on Friday so please pop back then to check them out and share your smiles with us too while you're here.
Hugs,
Annie x

WOYWW.....

Hello fellow bloggers.  Another week has passed and it's been another nail biting, stress busting, knitting week for me.  We had another viewing last Saturday that seemed to go very well and yesterday we had positive feedback so are keeping everything crossed that they come back with an offer for the house.....something good has got to happen soon....doesn't it?

So what I have to show you this week is....

The progress of the second quilty blanket....I've decided where the squares will go and have started to crochet them together before crocheting the border to match the other blanket.

I have now knit 10 squares in the gorgeous turquoise wool and have bought a pretty flecked wool to match plus some pretty pale creamy yellow to go with it.....don't you think this will make a pretty baby cot blanket?

Well folks that's about all from me creatively for this week cos I have been busy looking after those twinnie munchkins for an extra day this week while their other Granddad is in hospital with Pneumonia....get well soon Alan.  Thanks for calling by.  I will do my best to pay you a return visit when I can if you leave me a little hello message to let me know you've called in.
Hugs,
Annie x

WOYWW.....

Good morning to all who pass by here  :-)  Brrrrrrrrr it's a cold one.  I hope you're all tucked up in the warm today and all those that have been feeling poorly are now feeling much better.
I have a few pics today to show you what has been going on in the world of Annie this week...

Monday was another fab fun day with, much older sister, Jo and our friend T.  Jo and I set to in the morning and cut out another 14 dresses with the latest donated bedding parcels.....Jo has already made loads from the 88 dresses we cut out from the Saturday mammoth cutting session that featured in my celebration fun quiz [alas my work load has been manic the last two weeks so I haven't manage to make even one little dress].....

For those that haven't already seen....Crafty Womble was the lucky winner and these little parcels are now winging their way to her.  Thanks to all that joined in the fun.

We had a fun afternoon catching up with news, giggling and crafting [drinking coffee and eating chocolate!].
I cut out and started to sew a little dolly made using an 'Oh Sew Dollin' pattern that I bought in 2009 and hadn't got round to using.  I love dolly making and really enjoyed making the latest Mr Tumble lookie likey so thought I'd give my new pattern a go.  My  youngest daughter A bought me the gorgeous tiny print fabric pack to dress the little dollies in so here you can see the pretty pink one I've chosen for my first dolly.  She is a bit fiddly when it comes to the stuffing and I still have to give her a character with her facial features and hair etc so she has still to grow on me.  I shall be adapting the pattern so she is suitable to be played with and not just a collectible because I know that certain little people in my life just may want a play with her.    Speaking of which.......

This is how we finished off a wonderful Monday.  My two gorgeous girls, Brent and my 5 very special little people came to spend the evening with us.  Our room was filled with fun, laughter and lots and lots of love. [from the left the babies are Sam [twin], Steve [youngest], Phoebe [eldest], Louise and Lexi [twin].  This picture really makes me smile.....I'm such a proud mum and nanny and I really love my family times.

Most of you have left me lovely comments about the baby blanket I've been knitting so here is a quick update on it's progress.....

I finished knitting the 30 squares and laid them out on my table to space out the colours. [sorry about the poor lighting]

I stitched the squares into rows and then the rows of squares together in my chosen pattern.

I have since spent my evenings crocheting the border round the outside.....I like to do 2 rows of each colour in double crochet to give a nice wide band and as you can see last night I finished it  :-)  I'm so thrilled with the finished result too.  Can't you just see a summer baby wrapped in those sherbety colours?

I hope you will all leave me a little 'hello' comment before popping over to see Julia and link yourselves in to the fun.  I hope each and every one of you will stay warm and well and have a wonderfully creative week.
Hugs,
Annie x

WOYWW.....

Another busy week for me and the sun has been shining too.  This means there has been time spent outside at the weekend.

Monday was another fun day and the table had 4 of us round this week.  My Tuesday afternoon coffee friend has been off work following having her tonsils out [ouch] so she brought her knitting round and joined in the fun and laughter [and chocolates of course...thanks T].  Twiglet sat on her sewing machine creating another amazing work of art in her Montgomery featured range of buildings [I'm sure she will be doing a show and tell of it soon].  T sat the other side of the table on her machine making a beautiful appliqued owl cushion [I hope to show you that when she has finished it] and our friend E and I sat knitting [E is knitting a beautiful fluffy scarf and I'm knitting the next little hoodie for one of the grandbabies].  What an industrial lot we looked.

During our funday Monday I had a lot of customers with a lot of items of clothing so it was a catch up Tuesday...that is in between a hair cut, a house viewing at our neighbours house [ yes folks, we are now able to sell out elderly neighbours house for her :-) ] and of course Tuesday afternoon's coffee time with E.  :-) so this is what is on my 'to do' rail today.

I have now finished the beautiful baby blanket.

This is just a close up of the border....I love it cos it has really brought the right colours out in the blanket.

Of course it wouldn't be a Wednesday show and tell without just a few snaps of our garden for you.

A newly trimmed front hedge.  This took all of Sunday afternoon to trim and we still have the other side to do for our neighbour!

A much treasured old milk churn of my fathers that sits by my sewing room door and looks lovely with the begonias in the top.

I couldn't resist a quick snap of this beautiful clematis....I really love this colour and shall prob use this picture as inspiration for one of my fabric pictures.

Look at this amazing flower head on this dahlia.  Isn't it just gorgeous?  Thanks M [this was one you gave us].

Now folks I would like to thank you for dropping in.  Please leave me a comment if only to say hello and then pop over to Julia's to join in the WOYWW fun and to find out more if you have no idea what I am talking about.

Nearly there....

Yesterday I finished knitting the squares for the latest baby blanket and last night I sat sewing all the squares together while I watched telly....yes I do have to admit it was a late finish but I hate to leave anything in the middle  :-)

All I have to do now is crochet the border  :-)

WOYWW....

Happy Wednesday everyone.  Another wonderful link up day with lots of other crafters.

It's been another really busy week for me so far....I have either taken in or let out 6 pair of trousers this week as well as many many other jobs....It appears there are many men managing to shrink their trousers in the wash! [think it's called middle age spread but I wouldn't dream of saying that to them  :-) ].  This is one of my favourite jobs to do so I have really enjoyed my work so far this week.

Funday Monday was another brilliant day of chatter, giggles and of course chocolate [thanks T].  I sat knitting cos as yet my mojo is still AWOL.  I am hoping to recharge my batteries in Aberavon, South Wales for a few days so by next Wednesday you might see something a little more creative from me.  I really hope they have a good supply of mojos in South Wales so I come back refreshed.

On my desk today are the latest knitting projects I have on the go.

This is the latest little knitted hoody for one of the expected baby boys.  I love this random wool but I have to use two balls at the same time to knit matching sleeves and fronts because the repeat of colours are so big [what you can see here is a finished back and a nearly finished hood].  It's well worth the effort though cos the finished results are really lovely....I have already knit one in pink/blue and one in a turquoise random wool [and of course the white one I knit for one of my customers].

This is the pile of squares I have knit so far for the latest baby blanket.....I plan to take this away with me so by next week there may be lots more made....that is when I'm not swimming or just relaxing in the jacuzzi [did I mention I was going away for a couple of days?]

The last pic is for those who called last week and missed to get one of the yummy strawberries ....this is the third bowl full we have picked already and there are still more to ripen so please help yourselves.

Finally, before you pop over to Julia's to link up, I would like to say thanks for dropping in on me this week...I will do my best to do a return visit but don't forget I am having a few days away [how could you forget?].  I'm sure you will all forgive me cos my few days away are really badly needed....I'm physically, emotionally and mentally tired.  Have a great week.

WOYWW...

Blimey! it's Wednesday again. They seem to come round in the wink of an eye. Today is another steamy day for me. I have a beautiful Wedding dress and two little boy's tailed jackets to steam today so it will be windows and open for me while I'm doing them.

I can't show you the dress I'm steaming today but for those that like my posh frocks here is a snap of the one I steamed last week. It had the longest train I have ever had to steam. Isn't it just beautiful? It reduced the Mother-in-law to be to tears when she called to collect it :-)

I have finished the baby blanket I showed you the start of last week and have now crocheted a border around the edge in a pale green and have made two flowers to decorate the front with but will leave sewing them on for now.

I have now started another baby blanket in another pretty random wool in pink and cream. I like to have something to do while watching television in an evening.....I never like to sit idle :-)

That's all from me for this week so please pop over to Julia's blog to check out the other desks on show this week. Have a happy Wednesday my friends.

The baby blanket...

For those of you who dropped in on Wednesday and asked to see updates on the baby blanket I was making here is the latest news.

This is what you saw on Wednesday. Just 7 more squares to knit.

I finished these last 7 and laid them all out on my table to plan the pattern of colours.

Last night, whilst watching the telly, I sat and stitched them all together. First in rows then I stitched all the rows together carefully keeping the pattern correct. [Sorry about the dark photo].

And then I crocheted 3 rows of white around to edge it. Hey presto it's finished. It's for a very special little friend [actually not so little at the mo!] who's baby is due in August so hope she likes it.

p.s. Pop over to Julie's for the chance to win her fab blog candy.

Also do pop over to Helen's blog to check out her Blog Candy, the Opening of her New Shop/Challenge blog/CFS/ME awareness day 12th May here.
