WOYWW...

A little update from me to show you what I've been up to this week....

I've finished beading Michelle's Wedding veil ...and she is thrilled with the results. About 320 beads later!  :-) :-)  Sorry if you can't see it in detail.

I've got the latest 3 little coffee coloured dolls to this stage and cut out their dresses and pants out ready to sew.

Two special little people tried on their new cover ups that Great Auntie Jo made for them and then.....

Got them messy  :-)  :-) yum yum

Spent a fab day with Michelle making her wedding favour boxes and two special little people watched and played happily along side us.

Since then I have had an order for a special pair of my Wedding bears and as it's been years since I have made some I had to search for the pattern that I designed to make them with.....Yes, this was one of those very rare occasions when I couldn't put my hand on what I needed!!
The result was one empty cupboard, one very full to over flowing table [did all that really fit in one cupboard????], a bin bag full of rubbish and still no b***** pattern!!

What I did find though was lots of stash that I had forgotten I had and stacks of magazines that I no longer need.  Has anyone any suggestions as to what I should do with all these?  The stack on the left is just paper craft magazines!....and as you know I am not really a paper crafter [no time or inclination to do it now].  I don't really want to post them to anyone [unless of course someone wants to pay the postage] but if anyone has ideas as to what I can do with them please let me know.

Well folks, that's about it from me for this week.  I have now found my little bear pattern....in the last place I looked of course!  and I now have to put all my stash back in my cupboard so I can tackle my sewing mountain for today.  Thank you for calling by and leaving me your lovely comments.  Hope you all have a happy, healthy week and can find some spare time to be creative.
Hugs,
Annie x

Oh wow - M's veil is stunning!! You've been really busy I see, love the photos of the littlies :) Re. the craft magazines, I recently went through a massive pile and tore out any articles I wanted, filed them and threw the rest of the magazine into recycling. It hurt but had to be done! Happy WOYWW Annie! Di xx

Hope we get to see the wedding bears when they are finished. I love your blog especially when the twins are on, what happy little faces they always seem to have, they smile so much with their eyes.
Oh that veil, how splendiferous! What an absolute treasure it is. Definitely an heirloom to be passed on and on.
Thanks for sharing all the goodies.

Gorgeous veil so no wonder she is thrilled! All the tinies including the real ones are adorable... love S & L's big eyes and cheeky faces!
I think the only answer for the mags is so put them in a charity shop and make someone's day to find them.
Love joZarty x

That veil is gorgeous ..it will mean so much to her. How cute are the twins?? ...they look so similar even though I know they are not identical.

What a great Friday post below ..Kristofer loves to help ...never thought of the banisters lol

If the craft magazines are complete then charity shops can usually sell them. I know if I have any that don't have pages clipped out the ladies at the shop where my mum works fall upon them with excitement! I think they are a very expensive thing to buy on a pension.

Beautiful veil and those babies are adorable.

Love the veil, how beautiful, no wonder she loved it!!!! As for the magazines, try cutting out 'wordy' items and using them on cardmaking as backing papers or made into flowers. Apart from that, passing them on to a local crafting friend, or dare I say it, the recycling bin. A real shame as they are so expensive, but we can't keep them forever. Enjoy WOYWW Karen 78 x

Looks like you’re had a very busy week again Annie and obviously the little ones have been making sure that you’ve not been slacking, Lol!

That is one big pile of craft mags you have there. You could always take them to your local charity shop, I know that ours always has some in there.

Happy Crafting!

Fantastic veil and cute piccies of the bubbas.

Mags?: Well, either a massive trawl through them for ideas you might use at a later date and throw the rest away. Or take whole pile to charity shop.

Happy WOYWW

Beautiful veil and sewn with love so extra special.
I'd go with the charity shop for the mags - just think, you could be responsible for getting a whole raft of people into crafting in future.

Those babies are gorgeous:)

You did such beautiful work on the veil...definitely a keepsake.

My son has got me scanning my old magazines into my computer. That way I have the parts I want and can throw or give away the original intact. No more storage problems and I can find what I want when I need it:)

Gorgeous photos, Annie. What happy babies you have there and just as they should be with lovely messy faces. A sure sign of contentment.
What patience you have with that gorgeous veil. It'll be passed down in years to come I bet. A real keepsake.
Good Luck with all your preparations.

Hi Annie, Michelle's veil is stunning - it surely took you ages to sew all those beads on but you must be pleased with the result. The little ones are just as adorable as ever - they are growing too. The only suggestions I have for all those magazines is to give them either to a charity shop or perhaps an organisation that has crafting sessions for young and/or disabled people if there is one in your neighbourhood. Hope you are having a great Wednesday and that the week will be happily creative for you. Elizabeth x #11

What a work of love you have created Annie for your lovely daughter. Babies are gorgeous too! I am decuttering just now and after asking visiting friends to help themselves to several years of magazines, I cut out what I wanted to keep and recycled the rest in the blue bin.

your little visitors are adorable, and looked lovely in their new cover ups, have a great week,x

Hettie said...

Aw! Those coverups were worth every stitch if just to see their faces once they mucked them up!! Reminds me of an old Dulux ad - pea and ham in Birmingham!!
I just peeked at the previous post - better be careful you don't get arrested! There are laws about child labour!! LOL!

Hettie said...

P.S. As to those mags, is do you have a local Guides or Brownies group? I have passed some on to ours before as they often have crafting sessions. I know this as I often end up with sequins on my dancing shoes - like this evening!

Wow, the veil is absolutely gorgeous! Very nice job there. And can't wait to see your dolls. :)

As far as the magazines, I usually recycle mine, unless you know of a local women's shelter that might take them to inspire folks there starting their life over.

The veil is stunning! I am sure that it will look divine on the wedding day! Little dolls are looking adorable :) As for the magazines, if it is not too much work, you may see if either a children's hospital or women's shelter or local school wants them (the last one will cut them up for school projects most likely). I am sad to admit, I ended up just recyling mine. Have a fabulous WOYWW! -Amanda #39

I'm having a terrible time getting Blogger to cooperate with me. Love the looks on your "messy" visitors. Sorry. I have no idea what to do with those paper crafting magazines. I have a lot of them I'm trying to get rid of, too.

Stunning veil, such a lot of work and your nekked dolls look so cute now that I see them all finished!!
Not sure what to suggest for the stack of mags... unless you know a crop locally that would probably love to take them off your hands?

that veil is stunning.
how about putting the mags to charity shop, or if you have any childrens hospices around they are always looking for crafty stuff for the kids to do

Wow the wedding bears are gorgeous and of course the dollies are to. Had a quick browse through your shop, I shall definitely popping back as there are beautiful gifts, mind you I think I shall be purchasing the craft thingy to go on arm of sofa or desk, do you think you will have any new colours in? The favour boxes look lovely and the beaded veil is stunning. I can't believe how quickly the twins are growing up, and they seem so happy just playing, they are certainly contented babies. Why don't you give the magazines to your doctors or hospital for the waiting rooms, when I went to the doctors last time it was such a delight to see some old craft mags. Happy woyww :-) Kezzy x

The veil is just lovely - what a time consuming labor of love that beading must have been; it will make her day all the more special for it. And what fun to uncover stash, even if part of it was magazines. If nothing else you can recycle them.
