Yesterday's post has a little quiz...have a look and give it a go :-)

My happy Friday's post this week has a pic of a sleepy little Sam...he obviously takes after his Nanny Annie :-)

Also on the post was a little quiz so why not put your thinking caps on and come up with an answer. If you really can't guess...and so far no one has got it right....then just make me laugh. The winner will be either the correct answer or the one who made me laugh most :-)

Good luck xxxx

This week's smiles.....week 43 and a little quiz :-)

Hello folks.  Another manic week for me ...how about you?

We had lots of you joining in the fun last week and today I am featuring the melted bats that Janet shared and the cat in the bat cave that Jan shared....they sort of went well together  with it being near Halloween  :-)
Well done girls and thanks for sharing them.

This week had three busy twinnie munchkin days on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and the pic I am sharing today was taken at lunchtime on Tuesday....It's a bit of an 'eat up quick while you are still awake' snap.  My little munchkins are up at silly o'clock to come to Nanny Annie's in time for their Mummy and Daddy to go to work and as you can see it has to be an early lunch before their naps.....doesn't Sam look so cute here?

I am also giving you something to think about this week.  I am given all sorts of challenges during my sewing days and this week has been no exception.  The only clues I am giving you are...
  • The customer was male and of working age
  • He uses one of these during his working day
  • I have to make him two....one to use and one to wash as a spare[ yes he will get it dirty :-) ]
  • on the left is the paper pattern I have made...it takes two of these to make it.
  • on the right is the calico fabric I am to make it with

I would like you to have a guess at what I'm making.  I will be choosing the best guess...if not the right answer then it will be the guess that makes me laugh most....and I just might find a little something as a thank you gift to send to you.  Go on put your thinking caps on and let me know what you come up with.  I will give it a couple of weeks and will post a pic of the finished item with the name of the winner.

Now I want you to snap something that has made you smile this week and share it with all of us by linking below.  Thanks for joining in the fun and making the world a happier place to be.

Hugs,
Annie x

WOYWW....

It's a 3 day twinnie munchkin week for me this week so it's all go here at Sewing by Annie's.  That of course means I have put this post to upload automatically and won't be able to come checking out your blogs til tomorrow at the earliest sorry.....but I will do my best to drop by as soon as I'm able.

On my desk today [and it will be there at least until tomorrow!] is....

The evidence that Christmas card making has started....
  • Christmas fabrics sorted and ironed
  • a couple of quilted squares using the fabric
  • those have been machine embroidered and embellished
  • then scanned to make some Christmas card toppers
....so far so good.  :-)

Another Christmas card idea in the making...
  • strips of turquoise ribbons bond-a-webbed onto white fabric
  • wadding ready underneath ready to machine embroider and quilt down the ribbons in place
  • silver trimmings sorted ready to machine embroider on top
...we will see how this develops.  :-)

Been such a busy few weeks that I have the need to keep my hands busy while watching telly [or I nod off!] so have started some random crocheting.  I love the wool and it's chunky so I can use a large crochet hook...not sure what it will be when it grows up yet.   :-)

Well folks that's all from me for today....no time to pee breath think sew really so definitely not much time for creative fun  :-)  I hope you have enjoyed your little peep into my world for today.  Please leave me a little hello comment and I will do my best to pop by asap to say hello.

There will be pics and updates on the quilts being made for the Children in Need appeal very soon as Jacquie has already made the first two!
Hugs,
Annie x

This week's smiles...week 42

Another week has passed and it has certainly become Autumn here now.  The clocks went back last weekend and not only is it dark in the mornings when we have to get up but by 5pm when we finish work it's getting pretty dark too,  Roll on Spring I say  :-)

We had some really great posts linked up here last week and today I'm featuring my big sister's impersonation of Andy Pandy....did you think the same too?  For those who don't know who I'm talking about here's a reminder...

She just needed a frill round her neck :-)

I know the pic is in black and white but it was back then wasn't it?.....yes I'm really that old to remember lol  Thanks Jo.

I am also giving a mention to Debs pic or her reindeer massacre today cos she snook it in as a late comer yesterday and it really made me laugh.  Thanks Debs.

My pic for this week was one of Amy's three this week.  Like most houses they have large flat screened televisions in the house and all the modern techy equipment that all three of the children use with no hesitation of course but this is a pic of three little children glued to an old box type television their mummy used to have as a teenager simply because it has a video player attached.  We found some old Disney videos while sorting out here and watching one has proved very successful....for a little while at least  :-)

It made me chuckle so hope it raised a smile for you too.

Thanks so much for dropping by this week.  Please do your best to share your happy moments with us and link them up below.

Hugs,
Annie x

WOYWW....

Hello fellow WOYWWers.  It's been another productive week here at Sewing by Annie's.  It is half term so I haven't had my little twinnie friends here this week.  Monday was the first Funday Monday Jo and I had had for a while so I managed to make a few extra quilt squares for the Children in Need appeal....see prev post.  I took all the finished quilt blocks and money to Jacquie yesterday and she asked me to say a huge Thank you to all that helped to raise the funds....think she was rather blown away that you had each made so many quilt squares.  :-)  I will do my best to get some photos of the finished quilts to share with you when they are made.

Yesterday was a day off for me [hehehe what's one of those I hear you ask ] so I had a day doing things I wanted to do.....yes of course most of it was spent sewing....cos it's what I love doing.  So on my desk today is the finished results of a day's fun....

I rummaged through my material boxes and made 14 little bravery bead bags for the children having treatment for Leukaemia at Alderhay hospital.  Jo [zart] had been making some so I felt I should make a few to help out.....if you want to know more please pop over to the LillyBo quilt blog.

I also bagged up another batch of LillyBo bears to go in the parcel for Jo [zart].  They use these to raise funds for the family's of the children suffering from Leukaemia and having treatment.....I will get these in the post to you soon Jo.

So there you go,  I've been rather busy trying to give a little back.  I feel so very lucky to have a happy and healthy family so like to use my talents to help other less fortunate.
Today I shall be doing my best to clear some of the rail full of customers sewing plus of course the two pair of ****** curtains that need shortening!!  It can't be all fun no work can it?  :-)

Thanks for dropping by to see what I've been up to this week.  I will do my best to pop over to pay you a return visit if you leave me a little hello comment.
Hugs,

T for Tuesday...and quilt square update

It's half term holiday here this week so this means I don't have my little twinnie munchkins to keep me busy today.  Please don't imagine for one minute that I'm sat with my feet up though.  I had a really busy Funday Monday with Jo yesterday....not only did I make more quilt squares for the Children in Need fund raising but I think at the last count I had 7 customers throughout the day.......this of course means I now have a rail full of sewing to clear this week.....including 2 pair of ******* curtains!!!

Today I am joining T for Tuesday and linking up over at Elizabeth's....just cos I can :-)

My cup of coffee in one of my fav mugs was enjoyed with my breakfast of porridge.  As I can't have sugar I add a sprinkling of no added sugar fruit muesli before cooking and it tastes really yummy...try it sometime.  :-)
I have done my best to snap my pic to show you the gorgeous autumn colours out in the garden.  The sun is shining this morning and it looks wonderful out there.....even Rocky is enjoying the view today. :-)
[or just maybe he has seen a squirrel :-) ]

I am also sharing with you all the wonderful quilt squares made by my blogging friends for me to pass on to my friend Jacquie today.  I would like to thank each and every one of you for the quilt blocks and the £2 donated with each square made.  These quilt blocks will be made into children's quilts and then raffled off to raise further funds for the Children in Need appeal....every one who kindly donated squares will have their name entered into the draw so will be in with a chance to win one of the quilts.

6 quilt squares from Tilly [Tillyscraftycorner]

5 squares from Jo[Jozart]

5 squares from Jan [Lunch Lady]

3 squares from Janet [Fairy Thoughts]

4 squares from Jo [Twiglet]

Plus of course a few of mine to go with them. :-)

I will do my best to get pics of the finished quilts to let you all know what the finished results looked like but would like to say a huge
 THANK YOU
to each and every one of you for helping to raise the funds for Children in Need.  I am taking all the quilt squares down to Jacquie this morning so she can get quilt making.  :-).

I have so many fab pics to share with you this week as you can imagine and will add them at the end but I just want to challenge you to all to turn up your sound to play this video and not be chuckling at the end of it...

Isn't laughter contagious?
