WOYWW...

 What's on my desk today?...in truth not a lot because although we planned last weekend away on our favourite campsite near Llanidloes things all went to pot when I developed Shingles and we had to come home early :-(   Since then I have had to turn down sewing and have been struggling to sleep because of the pain from a swollen gland in the back of my head...the shingles is behind my left ear.  I'm hoping that, because I recognised it from having it once before many years ago, and acting quickly to get to a Dr to have anti viral meds that they will help....please keep everything crossed for me.

I have updated my Memory bear folder with the photos of my latest bears and this brings my number up to 721 now made...and that has made me smile to think that there are so many little bears giving love and comfort all around the world....I have pending orders for another 20 plus too :-)

This is a rather staged photo of my desk because I am not feeling like doing much of anything at the mo.

I had to buy two new balls of chunky wool while we were away for a little C project but have done very little as yet.

The book is the one I picked up at the coffee morning in aid of Breast cancer and it's a good read...especially in the middle of the night to take you mind off pain while you cant sleep.

Sorry there's nothing very interesting to see today...hopefully by next week things will be different.  Thanks for calling in.  I will do my best to pop over to see your desks at some point today.

WOYWW.....

 It's only a quick post from me today because there's nothing on my desk at all.....I've been taken down by a winter bug and haven't been in my sewing room once.....it fact I had to close earlier than planned because I felt so rough.  I'm really hoping to recover before I start back to work!!!

I can share this photo with you....

We had Phoebe, Lulu and Stephen here before Christmas and we enjoyed a couple of hours of crafty time. I had put everything ready for them to make little fabric trees the same I helped the twins to make and here they are proudly holding the trees they made.

I hope your have all enjoyed the festive break and the next time we meet to share our desks it will be 2023.

This week's smiles....week 401

This is the last Friday smiles post before Christmas and I doubt I will be posting again now until after the big day so I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and lets hope 2021 comes with a little less madness.

It's been another busy week here at Sewing by Annie's with lots of Memory bears being made.  It's also been another lovely week filled with smiles too.

 

There's been a socially distanced visit to see Father Christmas for Phoebe, Lulu and Steven.

Christmas activities for the twins included icing their Christmas cake and making a gingerbread house.

It's been a week of achievements for the grandchildren too.

Lulu and Steven got school awards and Phoebe had a really glowing school report from her new school....proud Nanny moments.

Sam had a gold award for his guitar playing and Lexi had her rosette/certificate for her dance exam and the top picture is of her at her dance award evening on zoom where she won the only trophy for her age group...Star dancer award!  Amazing or what?

I'm such a proud Nanny. It's so lovely that they get rewarded for putting in the effort and enjoying what they do.

WOYWW....

Firstly I want to thank you all for the get well wishes from last week....they worked a treat and I woke up Saturday morning feeling rather better thankfully....it's not prefect but the pain is much less and I can cope with it now......It's just a shame old age doesn't come on it's own isn't it?

It's just as well too because.....

• Monday morning started with making a sewing a frill on a dress for Phoebe to give it a little extra length for the character she's playing in her school play.
• I had 3 more badges to sew onto their Brownie hoodies
• Then I had a school memory bear to make but before I'd finished that one....
• I had a customer arrive with special items of clothing to make 4 more memory bears!!!
• I have been making a few more fir cone characters to take with me to the craft fair I have a table at on Saturday....Ford village hall from 11 o'clock onwards if you're passing please call in and say hello.
• Tuesday morning Jo came round for a coffee, catch up and a bit of crafty fun and even though it is my day off I had a customer drop of a sewing job for me to do....I never like to turn work away.
• This morning I have our daughter in law, Gina calling in for a fitting of her bridesmaids dress and little Theo with his suit plus I have the boiler man coming to service the boiler.....it's all go here.

So here's my room with all it's chaos and a quick snap of a few of the little fir cone Christmas tree elves....

I've snapped it from the other direction to show you the chaos at it's best....there's 4 Memory bears in the making, bags of customers sewing needing doing and lots of last minute making, planning and getting ready for the craft fair. 

On the other side there's yet more chaos. The little Christmas tree is to go as display on my craft fair table, the boxes are filled with items to sell and the little tin on the top of them has all the emergency things you might need when at a craft fair....scissors, blue tack, drawing pins etc.

Here's 4 of the 11 little fir cone elves I've made....I thought the boys might prefer these to the Christmas angels.

And that's all from me for today....as you can see I'm having a rather busy week but I will do my best to call in at yours to say hello in between the Sewing by Annie chaos.

WOYWW....

Happy Wednesday to one and all.  These weeks are really whizzing by aren't they?  I'm having a catch up day today cos I had a 'Nanny Annie' day yesterday.  M popped out for the day with the twins so the sewing was firmly put on the 'to do' rail....it can always wait cos my little Grandies will be all grown up before I know it. 

So  folks whats on my desks today?

Here is my table covered with the gorgeous fabric kits Jo from Jozart bought for our new arrivals so I'm busy working on these in between other jobs....I know the babes will have to be rather older before they will play with them but I really am enjoying all the snipping, sewing and stuffing.

My kitchen is smelling wonderful cos these have just come out of the oven....Parmesan and sun dried tomato rolls today....please help yourselves to one for lunch.



My sewing desk is showing off two new Really Useful Boxes that now hold my cones of thread used for overlocking.....these should keep some of the dust out [that is if I ever put the tops on! ]




Here you can see two lovely pieces of fabric that I intend making a couple of little dresses for little Lexi.  Twiglet took a pattern off a little dress that fits Lexi well and has already made her 3 little dresses so running up a couple more will be easy.

My ironing board is covered with Christmas fabrics.  I have so many!  I plan to make my Christmas cards and stockings using these  :-)

This is a pot full of Cuttlebugged flowers cut from some of the Christmas fabrics and a sheet of cross stitched little robins.....wonder what these will become?.....even I don't know yet  :-)

Busy busy busy....and then Topsy and Tim!

Well, some of you might be wondering where I've been since Wednesday. The end of last week was a busy one with sewing and getting everything ready for the busy weekend ahead.

Friday night was the battle of the supermarket.....are we gonna be snowed in for a month and no one thought to let me know? Or maybe they have brought Christmas Day forward? The aisles were heaving with everyone pushing and shoving. Madness!

Saturday night was hubby's firms Christmas party. It was held at the new Shrewsbury town Prostar Stadium. The food was wonderful, the drink was flowing and the entertainment was a Robbie Williams tribute. He was good but only sang for 50 minutes and earned more than I could earn in a week! Think I should retrain?

Sunday was a very special day. Our youngest daughter goes to Scotland every year with her hubby's family so we have a family party every year before they go and this year it was Sunday. I spent the morning cooking and preparing and all our family arrived around 3pm. 91/2 of us this year :-) [baby bump is developing well as little Sadie is growing fast]. We had a really special few hours together. I am such a proud Mum and Nanny. Our house was filled with just the most wonderful young people and 3 of them were the results of years of love and hard work on our behalf. Plus all 3 have chosen carefully and are making their lives together with really special partners too so we are thrilled for them all. Presents were exchanged and new toys played with. Little Granddaughter P loved the wooden dolly's bed we gave her and spent her time taking all the covers off and climbing in it :-) Dolls may have to fight to get time to sleep :-)

Amongst all the above our eldest daughter rang to say "you know how you like making things for me to use in school Mum"! Next term she is using her Topsy and Tim books to cover topics like 'going to the dentist', 'going to the Dr's etc etc so of course to illustrate it properly she would really like her own Topsy and Tim. For those of you who don't know them they are twins, Tim being a boy and Topsy being a girl and Jean Adamson and Gareth Adamson write books of their adventures. So.......yes you've guessed it..... I'm now making a pair of rag dolls....




Think we've lost our heads!

Found you...and it looks like we have been shopping for clothes. These are some really nice popper fastened shirts....and matching too :-)





Just one more day to go as I shut up shop today til after Christmas so hopefully they will find some facial features and hair, a skirt for Topsy, trousers for Tim and some shoes. Think yours truly has another busy day ahead!
