WOYWW....

Another eventful week over here at Sewing by Annie's.  We have had 3 different estate agents in to value the house and today the one we have selected to proceed is coming to take the photos so that it should be board up and on the market by the weekend....wahooooo.  It's so exciting.

Monday wasn't as much fun as normal cos that big sister of mine was laid up with a head cold and, so as to not pass on the bugs, she stayed at home.  Mondays just aren't the same without her as you can imagine and I really hope she gets better very soon.

Yesterday was my Munchkin fun day so of course there was no sewing or crafting going on here then either....but we certainly had a lot of fun.  They are growing up so very quickly.

So?  What is on my desk today?....the answer is.....

....the start of my LillyBo Quilt number 6.  I needed something to brighten up my Monday so I chose a bag full of bright cheery colours for this next quilt and have already finished the front of it as you can see.  The fabric in the middle of the quilt has little yellow birds and clouds on it so I just might have to make a little bird or maybe even a duck to go with this one.  :-)
I see Jo[zart] has put her latest quilt on the LillyBo quilt blog  this week and it's really gorgeous....go have a peep.
The other thing I am sharing with you today is this gorgeous bunch of daffodils...they really were far too bright and cheery to keep all to myself.....and of course you have to have fresh flowers in the house when you're selling it don't you?....I can see this being my excuse for a while at least  :-)

Fresh baked bread might help too so feel free to help yourself to one of these for your lunch today.  :-)

I hope you have enjoyed your visit this week and will leave me a little hello comment.  I will do my best to pay you a return visit in between sewing jobs ....and of course showing all the people round who want to buy our house....keeping everything crossed here.  :-)
Hugs,
Annie x

WOYWW.....

Firstly I would like to invite you all to each week upload a pic of what makes you smile and to link your happy post to my Friday's smile.  I have had a few teething probs with Mr Linky but all being well those are sorted out now.  You can put any pics here on this post up til Friday or wait til Friday and link up with this week's posting.  Many have already joined in the fun so check out the links if you are in need of a smile on these gloomy wintry days.
I'd like to thank those who have already joined in but to those that haven't yet......don't forget we can't have too many smiles in our lives and you are all very welcome.

Now.......what's on my desk today?

My latest delivery of wool rovings from Sara's Texture Crafts.  The natural colour is for Jo to make some more wet felted background pieces from and the others are just some of the gorgeous yummy colours that I just needed couldn't resist.  :-)

On my ironing board today is some of the fabric I've been sorting out to make a LillyBo quilt or two.  Jozart launched her new blog yesterday to share with us why she would like as many of us as possible to join in making a few of these so pop over to check out the details.....who would say no?...not me cos I know the difference they would make to one of my little Grandees in that situation.

On my kitchen work surface is the latest batch of bread rolls I've made.....they are Parmesan cheese and sun dried tomato rolls and you are welcome to help yourselves to one for lunch....still warm though so mind you don't burn your fingers.

The other pic I just had to share with your today is of my daft dogs who just love playing in the snow but insist on bringing their snow balls in with them.......on their legs!
I have little puddles everywhere.  :-)

That's all from me for today folks.  Thanks for calling by.  If you leave me a comment I will do my best to pay you a return visit and don't forget to take those happy pics and link them on my Friday's post to help with spreading a little happiness round the world.
Hugs,

WOYWW...

The weeks all pass so quickly don't they?  Here we are at yet another of my favourite day's of the week when I can call in on lots of my blogging friends to see what they have been up to during the week.

Thankfully Monday the weather was better and Jo was able to join me for fun.....we did seem to do more talking about it rather than doing it this week though  :-)  We have been making plans for a couple of craft fairs we hope to have tables at before Christmas and on my table today are the latest 4 little poppy pictures I have put into mounts ready for selling.

I must admit I do rather like them in these red and cream double mounts and think they will sell quickly....if they don't I just might frame them up and hang them on my walls.  :-)

The only other picture I have to share with you today is the batch of yummy bread rolls I've just made for lunch......please help yourselves to one but be careful as they are still warm.  :-)

That's all from me today.  Hope you like the new autumn look to my blog today.....those are the crab apples on the tree just outside my kitchen window....aren't they gorgeous colours?
Thanks for calling by today.  If you leave me a little hello comment I will do my best to pay you a return visit as soon as I am able.

WOYWW....

Good morning to one and all.  Thanks for calling by for a quick update from Sewing by Annie's.  Today sees me catching up with sewing jobs again.  My rail is full and there's more on it's way later.  I'm only working til Friday then I'm shutting up shop for a week to spend my time doing all the last minute bits for the wedding so that means I've got to stay head today down til my work is cleared.  I hope to have it all done and collected by 5 on Friday so I have my room clear to steam a wedding dress, 4 bridesmaid's dresses, 3 little flower girl dresses and two little pageboy suits....exciting times ahead eh?

I had my little munchkins to play yesterday and they asked me to say hello to all their blogging Aunties from them.  Every day brings about change in them at the mo.  This week Sam has learnt to clap his hands and Lexi has cut her first tooth [Sam already has 3 teeth!].

I want to show you this little work of art I should have shown you last week but forgot.  It is an ATC swap I received from Kate out there in Spain.  Thank you so much Kate, it's just perfect in every way.

This is my table full of our wonderful new order of wool rovings we bought from Sara.  Jo and I share everything but of course this may get a bit of stroking before I can use it  :-)  What yummy colours....I can see hills and heather in the making here.

My latest dumflings are sat here on my table waiting for machine/hand embroidery and maybe a few beads before finishing them off.  The poppies are proving very popular.

Look what the postman brought me from the lovely Di yesterday.  Thank you so much for the promarkers Di...they will be put to good use when I'm dolly making...and that card is really gorgeous.  You card makers out there are such a talented bunch.
You have made me feel really special Di so thank you for your kind thoughts and, always reliable, support.

And last but by no means least....on my kitchen work surface is my latest batch of parmesan and sun dried tomato rolls so please help yourselves to one for lunch time....do be careful though cos they are still hot!

Don't forget to leave me a little comment and I will aim to pop over to say hello when I emerge from under my sewing mountain later.  Here's hoping you all have a great week.
Hugs,
Annie x

WOYWW.....

Pitter patter pitter patter pitter patter....and this time it's not the feet of little ones ....It's the rain on the window!!!  When will it ever stop?  I knew the garden was crying out for the rain but even that is now needing a rest.....I have a feeling the seeds we planted will be coming up further down stream.  :-)

So? what have I been up to this week I hear you ask?

I bought one of these...Isn't it funny that this cold, wet weather makes you think of nice warming casseroles instead of salads?....and what came out of it was simply wonderful.

I bought a bag of this....who could resist that face eh? The resulting bread was really yummy too  :-)

This wool arrived through the post...Donated for the fish and chip babies from my wonderful craft supplier Cari Crafts......many thanks to them for supporting the great cause.

And so far I've done this with it  :-)

If you would like to get involved with knitting for this great cause then please follow this link and have a go.  If you can't knit then please just give it a heads up on your blog to encourage others that can.

Saturday I had a call for a puppet to be used for a teaching job interview on Monday for our son's girlfriend Gina.  Jo and I were having fun time together while the men went to see Shrewsbury play footy......AND they won and are now going up to Division one  Wahooooooooooo.

Back to the puppet!  I had a Mrs Oakley the farmer's wife puppet in stock so we set to to transform her into the Queen.  Off came the mop cap she was wearing and I made her a crown with grey hair attached while Jo made her sparkly cape.  What a fun hour we had.

Alas, although her interview went really well, the job was given to a much more experienced teacher.  It was brilliant experience though and she will now go to her next interview with more confidence....and that one is this morning!!!!  Please wish her luck.

If any of you saw my post yesterday you will see that Louise over at Sew Scrumptious  is asking for 50 pairs of shorts for little boys to go out with the next parcel of little girl's dresses that are going out to Uganda so please....if you can sew would you follow the link and run her up a quick pair. If you are able to join in and make her a pair [or two] then please follow this link to see how....they are simply made but I'm sure they will do the job nicely.  If you scroll down you will see the pic of the 5 pairs I made yesterday  :-)

Thanks for calling by today.  Please leave me a little hello comment before rushing off to join in the WOYWW fun over at Julia's blog.

WOYWW....and a quick hello from the Munchkins

Today is another day of special Nanny Annie time with the twins for me so this is all set up to post on auto...fingers crossed it works.  I will aim to drop in to see what you've been up to during their nap times.

Hello to all our on line aunties from the Munchkins

I am doing a quick 'show and tell' of the crafty things I have been up to this week for you to see...

Here are two of the high chair pads I made over the weekend for the twins.  They are such tiny tots that they need a little pad under them and one at their backs to help them fill the high chairs.  I designed and made 4 so they had some here with us and 2 for at home...apparently they work a treat so they will be trying mine out later  :-)
[sorry about the poor lighting in the pic].

This is Sam's little waistcoat that I've been knitting for what seems like ages but finally finished over the weekend.

I want to add this quick snap of our Magnolia that greets all my customers as they come to the door.  It's really beautiful at the mo and I just wish this was smelly vision cos the scent it is giving off is amazing. It's not a huge bush but was grown by my Dad so it's very special to me....he died April 5th 1989 so he is very much in my thoughts at the mo.

What a difference a couple of days makes.  If you check out my last post you will see how the flowering cherry blooms have all opened out in the gorgeous sunshine we have had since the weekend.....I love it  :-)

It's Parmesan and sun dried tomato rolls today if you fancy one for your lunch....please help yourselves before you shoot over to visit Julia, our organiser and Queen of Wednesdays..  :-)

Edit....Postman has just delivered our badges....thanks so much Julia.  We will wear them with pride.  :-) :-) :-) :-)

WOYWW....

Happy Wednesday to one and all.  These weeks are really whizzing by aren't they?  I'm having a catch up day today cos I had a 'Nanny Annie' day yesterday.  M popped out for the day with the twins so the sewing was firmly put on the 'to do' rail....it can always wait cos my little Grandies will be all grown up before I know it.

So  folks whats on my desks today?

Here is my table covered with the gorgeous fabric kits Jo from Jozart bought for our new arrivals so I'm busy working on these in between other jobs....I know the babes will have to be rather older before they will play with them but I really am enjoying all the snipping, sewing and stuffing.

My kitchen is smelling wonderful cos these have just come out of the oven....Parmesan and sun dried tomato rolls today....please help yourselves to one for lunch.

My sewing desk is showing off two new Really Useful Boxes that now hold my cones of thread used for overlocking.....these should keep some of the dust out [that is if I ever put the tops on! ]

Here you can see two lovely pieces of fabric that I intend making a couple of little dresses for little Lexi.  Twiglet took a pattern off a little dress that fits Lexi well and has already made her 3 little dresses so running up a couple more will be easy.

My ironing board is covered with Christmas fabrics.  I have so many!  I plan to make my Christmas cards and stockings using these  :-)
Watch this space as they say  :-)

This is a pot full of Cuttlebugged flowers cut from some of the Christmas fabrics and a sheet of cross stitched little robins.....wonder what these will become?.....even I don't know yet  :-)

And finally for those that like to see how the twinnies are growing here is the latest photo.... awwwwww.  I snapped this quick for you yesterday while they were here with me for the day with their Mummy.
Their Mummy and Daddy are doing such a great job that they now weigh in at...

Sam 9lb 13oz
and
Lexi 7lb 14oz

So folks that's what's on my 'desks' today.  Clutter clutter everywhere and lots to do on my 'to do' rail too  :-)  Please leave me a little 'hello' comment before you move on to the 'Queen of snoop's' blog and join in the WOYWW fun [and of course to find out more if you are the one person in the world that hasn't heard what WOYWW is yet].

The latest batch....

Yes folks they keep coming  :-)  Here are my latest makes....

These 4 are all made using fabric one of my customers gave me and I've trimmed them up with bias and pockets made from smaller pieces of fabric donated for the dresses.
I love the fact that each and every one is different and can just imagine all those little girls smiling to have their own special dress.  This brings my total now up to 56  :-)

And for those that can smell what else I've been up to this morning.....

It's nearly lunchtime so please help yourselves.  We will be having ours with bacon in....can't you just smell it?  Yum yum  :-)

WOYWW....

What a busy week it's been so far....Monday was manic and Tuesday was no better.
My weeks story in pictures...

I finished my latest pair of little knitties for the twins over the weekend.

One of several batches of home made bread made so far this week...I rarely buy bread but who would blame me?  If this was smelly blog then you would understand.

The postman brought me a parcel Monday morning all the way from Penny [Violet-White] in France for me to use to make little dresses for the African girls.....Thank you so much Penny for your support....the world really is a smaller place.

By  the end on Monday Twiglet had helped me cut this material into 6 little dresses and 3 larger ones...plus another batch from some pale blue sheeting one of my customers gave me to use.

This little bird had flown into my sewing room window so I gently picked him up and he happily hopped up and down my arm while he recovered so Twiglet snapped a quick picture for you.

These three offered me no help what so ever and decided to just enjoy the sunshine!!

During Monday we had a visit from M so I snapped a quick pic for you to see how the twinnies are growing.  Bless her she has little room left and still has another 11 weeks to go/grow.  She came out with one of her friends [also 21 weeks pregnant] and her little 2 year old boy who needed his trousers shortening.....I can't wait to have little grandsons....little J was so cute and such a good boy.

During Monday I had soooooooo many customers and they filled my 'to do' rail with 3 curtains to shorten and 8 pair of trousers!!
I guess I don't have to tell you what I spent Tuesday doing.

So?  What's on my work desk today?

This lot has just arrived through my door and he would like these 5 pair of trousers all done to pick up later today!!  3 need either letting out or taking in and all 5 need shortening!!  Another busy day ahead of me!

Sorry my post is so picture heavy today but it was the easiest was of sharing my week with you all.  In my quiet times I shall be running up as many little dresses as I can fit in and am still accepting any donations of spare pillow cases or fabric so please hunt out any you've got spare and send them along to me....just email me for more details.
Before you shoot off to Julia's to join in the WOYWW fun just leave me a quick comment even if only to say hello.  Have a great week.

WOYWW...

Well folks it's as if I've never been away....except I have had my batteries recharged and I feel the break really did me good.  I'm sure life is the same for others in that we all have highs and lows but just sometimes I need to shut the door and chill out to cope with the lows and make the very best of the highs when they arrive.

You will see from my last post that the family excitement is growing well  :-)  I am blessed with just the best family in the world and can say that each one of them goes out in the world and makes the world a better place for them being in it so can't wait for the extra little family members to arrive.

Funday Monday was another brilliant day of laughter, chat, cuppas and, as always, a chocolate or two [thanks T].  Twiglet brought down her Cuttlebug with the new Tim's Tattered flower and leaf dies and she provided each of us with a wonderful ceramic button [thanks Jo].  We each chose fabrics to suit the colours of our buttons and cut flowers out using the new toy.  A bit of heating with the embellishing heater and a few stitches here and there and ta da here is the brooch I made.

I have spread out the knitted squares I have made so far for you to see so you know I did manage to do a few while away last week but I'm sorry to say Jo that I didn't manage to knit while in the car very successfully....I dropped my needles once or twice then had to put it away  cos it made me travel sick :-(
Nearly 15 now so that's 7 more since last week  :-)

I've been busy doing a few sewing jobs this morning but have still managed a batch of yummy wholemeal rolls for lunch.....feel free to cut one in half and fill it with what ever you choose.....they smell wonderful.
I usually like to share a little of my garden with you all and this week it's lavender.  We have lots of bushes around the garden and it's really looking and smelling wonderful at the mo.....even the little bee seems to be enjoying it  :-)

And how's about this for honeysuckle?  It's really beautiful and smells divine especially with a drop of rain on it.  :-)

Hope you all have a really fab week and can enjoy a few sunny days.  Please pop over to Julia's blog and join in the WOYWW fun.
