Hello all. Here we are at the last post before Christmas Day, tomorrow. If you're not ready now then don't worry about it.
I've had no sewing to do this week but I have played a support act for these....
My darling hubby played the part of Santa at the school our daughter Michelle teaches at. He was supported by our grandson,Sam and his friend Aled who dressed as elves and our granddaughter Lexi who stepped in as photographer for anyone wanting photos. I greeted each family who came and took in the money :-)
We made a great team :-)....and a lovely time was had by all.
That just leave me to wish each and every one of you a very Happy Christmas and a Wonderful 2026
I was missing in action last week but hope you all had a wonderful Christmas...we did. It was rather different/hectic this year but many happy memories were made...
I cooked Christmas dinner on Christmas eve so Theo and Louie could enjoy their Christmas with their daddy who is now living with us. Shell, Brent and the twins joined us for Christmas Eve tea and it was really lovely to see the grandchildren enjoying fun time together. Peggy had a Christmas jumper but it didn't stay on for long :-) Bottom middle is a photo taken when my darling hubby stepped up to dress up as Santa for the school Shell teaches at when their usual man rang in sick at the last minute....He did a wonderful job [rather emotional to watch] and gave out pressies to about 80 children. I have a feeling he will be asked back next year too.
Christmas day my dinner was cooked for me by the men in my life...Beef Wellington...and it was really yummy. Why does food always taste better when you don't have to cook it? :-)
Now that just leaves me to add a few funnies for you all and to wish you a very happy and healthy 2025.
Hi all. It may be early in the year for some but, because I usually get busy leading up to Christmas, I am making a start with a few Christmas makes so that's what is on my desk today...
As most of you will know, each year I make something for each of my grandchildren to hang on their Christmas tree so I got my felt box out and made a start....I decided to make several different designs so they could choose.
Here they are...with a few stitches, beads, bows, wadding, a ribbon hanger and backing. I have a few more designs in mind and all that are left will go to the charity I support.
That's all from me for now....I will be finding time to craft in between my sewing jobs. I have a Memory bear to make this morning :-)
Here we are at the last round up of smiles for 2023.....and there's been lots to smile about.
Friday evening we went round to Shells for an evening of fun and nibbles....and swapped parcels.
Christmas Day we had dinner with Mark and Gina....and it was really yummy. Afterwards we swapped parcels and played games.
Boxing Day we went to Amy's for lunch and afterwards we swapped parcels and played games.
So what a wonderful few days we had, all filled with wonderful memories and laughter and we have been spoiled rotten.
Gina and Mark shared a wonderful collage from over the years and I really love seeing how the boys have grown.
Another collage, this time of Amy's three [and their dogs].
In the bottom left photo they are standing by the grave of Scrouge left behind when they filmed 'A Christmas Carol' in Shrewsbury.
Another collage from when the twins spent quality time together whith their cousins.
This year's photo of the twins in their Christmas stockings....taken to add to the collage they keep of them each year since they were born [back then they almost fitted right inside their stockings lol ].
Of course it wouldn't be Friday without a few funnies [excuse the language on the one]. I hope you found something that made you smile and will leave me a little comment before linking to your own smiles.
That just leaves me to wish you a very Happy New Year and here's hoping we can share lots more smiles in 2024.
Here we are at the last WOYWW before Christmas. My desk is clear of the Christmas clutter now and my work has wound down thankfully. ....I think 49 bears since the begining of November is enough don't you?
These are my final two bears until after Christmas. They were given to two little boys yesterday to help them get through the day of their big brother's funeral. They were made from his cuddly blankets so will be lovely to cuddle up to and each of them have a little pocket on the front that their mummy had put a photo of their big brother in.
It's very special when families share with me such stories.
Having shared the story of young Riley who died of cancer at just 12 years old I felt the need to make another batch of the little frogs that are given out to the children newly diagnosed with cancer in the area to introduce them to the Harry Johnson Charity and all the help they offer.....I'm sure we would all like to think they wouldn't need lots of these making.
That's all from me now until after the big day. I hope you all have a good one shared with loved ones and I will 'see' you afterwards.
Here we are at another catch up of the smiles of the last week as we head towards Christmas. Wednesday evening we went to watch Theo in his Christmas nativity...it was wonderful. It was year 1 and 2 so lots of little ones giving their all. ....lots of smiles but no photos.
They went on a Christmas train ride at the weekend and I really love these photos they sent us.
We had Louie on Wednesday for a fun day then yesterday we had both boys....they do love each other and it's so lovely to watch....even if by the end of the day they were both very tired [and so were we :-) ]
Of course it wouldn't be a Friday without a few funnies....I hope you find something here to make you smile and will leave me a little comment before sharing your smiles by linking up at the bottom.
It's not been a week where finding smiles has been easy for me sadly. Both of us have been feeling pretty poorly right over the Festive week. These winter bugs seem to be taking some shaking off and we have a long way to go yet....still feeling weak, shaky and running temperatures with tiresome coughs that keep us awake a lot in the night.....I'm sure it will go but when???
Enough about the doom and gloom of the week....I'm here to find some smiles and this one has really made me smile...
Louie is not quite crawling yet but as you can see he is a happy boy when he's stood up by the settee.....he seems to change every time we see him and is such a smiley boy.
Gina updated their Christmas collage to include the latest photo.....Theo looks so grown up now don't you think?
The only other thing I have to share is a lot of Christmas funnies so, before it's too late to share them I have collaged them all here together for you.
I hope you can find something here to make you smile.
Here's wishing you all a very Happy New Year and hopefully we can all have a healthy one.
Thanks to you all for joining in each week and for helping me to raise a few smiles.
It's been another busy week here at Sewing by Annie's and I have had many smiles seeing what effect my Memory Characters have on the customers I've made them for...I really love my job. I've made 22 different ones in the last 3 weeks!!!
We enjoyed our first 'alone time' with little Louie on Tuesday while his Mummy was busy. He was as good as gold and it was so lovely to see him sitting playing with the toys [a lot of which his Daddy had played with as a baby]....happy memories.
We have enjoyed seeing memories being made by Amy, Dave and their three. Amy has always been our one to make the most of Christmas and she still makes special memories with Phoebe, Lulu and Stephen. The magic of Christmas will always be kept in that household.
Of course it wouldn't be Friday without a few funnies....so many of these made us chuckle...and I hope they do you too.
Hugs,
Annie x
In the bottom left pic there is supposed to be misletoe hanging above the cat and dog but I couldn't get it to fit in the collage.
Here we are at the last Wednesday before Christmas....how did that happen? I would like to say a huge thank you to you all for your love and friendship over this last year....my Wednesdays really have helped to get me through it all. Let's hope 2021 sees an end to this awful virus that has taken so many of our loved ones from us and we can all get back to living a 'new' normal life.
On my desk today are bears, bears and yet more bears....
The lady I made the one little bear our of the jacket last week brought me 4 more items of clothing to make 4 more bears out of....the lovely thing was these were another jacket, 2 shirts and a jumper so they made 4 very different bears....all lovely :-)
A young man came with 2 shirts wanting a bear made out of them but when he arrived he decided he would like 3 making :-)
Finally and by no means least I made this special bear for one very special little girl who is leaving her foster home and going to her forever home at the beginning of the new year. She is like a little ray of sunshine so this little bear is just perfect for her. I really love it when I'm taken into the heart of my customers and they share such special things with me and it was the perfect way to finish work before Christmas....and for those asking that now brings my number up to 403 Memory Bears :-)
Now that just leaves me to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
This is the last Friday smiles post before Christmas and I doubt I will be posting again now until after the big day so I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and lets hope 2021 comes with a little less madness.
It's been another busy week here at Sewing by Annie's with lots of Memory bears being made. It's also been another lovely week filled with smiles too.
There's been a socially distanced visit to see Father Christmas for Phoebe, Lulu and Steven.
Christmas activities for the twins included icing their Christmas cake and making a gingerbread house.
It's been a week of achievements for the grandchildren too.
Lulu and Steven got school awards and Phoebe had a really glowing school report from her new school....proud Nanny moments.
Sam had a gold award for his guitar playing and Lexi had her rosette/certificate for her dance exam and the top picture is of her at her dance award evening on zoom where she won the only trophy for her age group...Star dancer award! Amazing or what?
I'm such a proud Nanny. It's so lovely that they get rewarded for putting in the effort and enjoying what they do.
That's all I have to share for this week. Please share your smiles by linking them up below.
Another week has passed and we are creeping closer to Christmas. I wrote all my Christmas cards [and they are now posted] but I found I still needed more so have made another 6 this week and am now working on the tree decorations that I make for each of our 6 grandchildren [plus a few extra special little people] so I have been enjoying crafty time in between making more Memory bears and even another Memory elephant....we might have been in lockdown and are now in tier 2 [so very little different] but us creative folk can always find something to do and I'm sure it has helped during this mad time....and I can always find something to smile about :-)
Wednesday night saw my darling hubby and our son going to watch Shrewsbury town play football....they allowed 2000 supporters in to watch the game and they were lucky enough to get tickets.
They have really missed their football so this put huge smiles on their faces...even if they were hidden by their face masks.
Ever since the twins were born and could fit right inside their Christmas stockings Shell has sent me a photo of them.....boy how they have grown! I'm not sure how many more years they will fit their feet in but I'm sure they will try. :-)
There has been early signs that Christmas is on it's way here too. The Christmas boxes are down out of the attic and, as you can see the tree is now being put together in the living room....we usually have Amy with her little elves to decorate the tree but I have a feeling we may have to do it ourselves this year...b******* Covid!!
Lets hope the news of vaccines on their way will mean life may return to nearer normality some time soon eh?
That's all from me for today. I hope you will all share your smiles by linking up below.
Hello all...I've been at it again! Between all the sewing jobs that are now coming through my door I've been making more face masks only this time they are for Christmas...and yes they are selling well already! So I've restocked them already and this is the second batch...
As I look at it the need for wearing face masks isn't going away anytime soon so we may as well wear something that will put a smile on a few faces....and it seems many think like me so I will be making more of these.
I am still making other masks to order as demand for those is much less now.
I am still making more Memory Bears...this one is for a child from the school close to us....I love seeing the pleasure each bear gives....there's a lot of love in the making of each one.
I have also...
Taken in 3 dresses for Gina who has lost a lot of weight.
Patched and darned a pair of working trousers for Mark.
Oh what a fortnight filled with smiles and happy memories it's been. I was missing in action on the blogging front last week but it does us all good to step back from time to time. I was very busy making memories and enjoying some 'me time'.
So, I wont waste any more time and will share just a few of my smiles with you...
Changing times
Over Christmas Gina made this collage of Theo showing just how he's grown....it just happens while you're not looking doesn't it? I really will have to stop calling him little Theo won't I? :-)
Special memories being made
This was over Christmas. Mark got his guitar out while Lulu was at his house and they spent a little time together with it. She has guitar lessons at school and was so chuffed to have Mark teaching her on his best guitar.
Moments of madness
Here's a selfie of us showing Michelle how much we love one of our Christmas presents from her.
Moments of magic
Isn't nature just amazing? This was a quick snap of the sky during the Christmas holidays.
The promise of things to come
In every corner of our garden there's bulbs shooting up and little signs of new life....I love this time of year.
New additions to the family
On 29th December Shell, Brent and the twins collected a new little puppy called Jet. She's a Labrador x Border Collie and is simply gorgeous.
The first of many I hope
Yesterday we had our first trip out in the motor home for the New Year. We took the motor home for a run to Aberdovey and really enjoyed a walk on the beach with Milly. Here's hoping 2020 will be filled with many happy trips out together. We are still going to the gym 3x a week and I think I've already lost 10lbs so lets hope this is a good beginning with more to follow.
I hope you've enjoyed my first Friday smiles of 2020 and will link up to your own smiles below.
In all honesty I have to say there's been no action what-so-ever in my sewing room this week so today I'm just going to share what's waiting for me on my desk...
It's one of my Christmas presents from my hubby and I'm really hoping to find a bit of 'me time' to make a start. Luna Lapin is a quiet and kind rabbit with impeccable taste....it says so on the front of the book...so of course she's just like me!!
We will be doing the rounds playing Santa today.....
......Amy, Dave, Phoebe, Lulu and Steve this morning,
..... Mark, Gina and Theo for Christmas dinner
...And Michelle, Brent, Lexi and Sam this afternoon.
But I plan to drop in on as many of you that I can between our visits :-) I hope you day is filled with love and smiles too.
That just leaves me to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and to thank you all for the love and friendship over the last year. Here's hoping 2020 comes with many more sharing days and lots of meeting up and together times.
