WOYWW...

Happy Wednesday to you all. This is the day of the week when we all link up over at Julia's and expose our crafting spaces to the world.  :-)

So?  What have I got to share with you today?

He's not on my desk I know but when my 'Colin Firth' came to collect his sewing he allowed me to take a couple of snaps to share with you to show you just how dashing he looks in his costumes.  I'm pleased to say the alterations had gone well and my customer will probably be back for more.  He has loaned me his waistcoat pattern to peruse and, who knows, I may be making him one of those next.  :-)

Just imagine it all with his waistcoat, tail coat, top hat and boots added.

Creatively, this week, I have been dumfing dragonfly bodies [you can see them centre front on my table].  Jo and I plan to make some more dragonfly pictures to see as the last one Jo made has proved very popular......watch this space as they say.

Doesn't all that multi-coloured wool roving look fab?

On the work desk in the kitchen I have been using up all the ripe tomatoes from our greenhouse to make some fresh tomato sauce to go with pasta.  It includes...
  • onions, chopped
  • fresh garlic, crushed
  • fresh basil, roughly chopped
  • tomatoes, skinned and chopped
Yummy!

The other picture we wanted to share was one of the curls that have developed over night for Lexi.  :-)
At the time of the wedding her hair was pretty straight but now it's curly....how does that happen?

And what a cutey she looks with it too.  :-)

Hope you have enjoyed sharing a little of my world today.  If you leave me a little 'hello' comment I will do my best to pay you a return visit in between my sewing jobs.  Thanks for calling by.
Hugs,
Annie x

Brilliant photos Annie - but what blew me away was Lexi's loooong eyelashes (as well as her curls). Fabulous! Hugs,Di xx

Morning Annie! A dashing stranger indeed - isn't the costume fab. Can't resist your pasta sauce, please freeze and despatch 20 pints at once!
Aw Lexi....I know what makes her hair curl so....it's love.

Thanks for your lovely comment on my post! Yep, we're a 'Ginger and Proud' family - my hair was that colour when I was younger, I've always loved being different...shame that Rhys has had to put up with such bullying about it....
Anyhow, loved the Mr Darcy looky likey..you did a fab job with the costume! And, back to hair, I spent punds in the hairdresser trying to get curls like Lexi's..so I'm very envious!!

now they are some beautiful curls! have a great week trace x 48

How strange for Lexi to develop curls overnight. How lucky too but she will probably grow up wanting straight hair - we always want the opposite for some reason.
Those rovings look gorgeous - know where to get them at a good price?
Thanks for sharing and for your visit Annie - Hugs, Neet xx

Great job with the period costume. It must make your work more interesting to have something like that to sew. Beats curtains any day! We embraced the miserable weather on Monday afternoon and snuggled on the sofa watching Sense and Sensibility. No Colin Firth, but plenty of other dashing men in leather boots! Loving Lexi's curls and long lashes :o)

Have to admit that he is a little more Mr Bennett than Mr Darcy, but still very dashing.

Love the idea of the pasta sauce, hate the idea of peeling and chopping all those tomatoes!!!

I'm pasta sauce making today, unfortunately lost all my toms in the greenhouse to blight, but still have some on my terrace. Fracnesca #77

He’s not on your desk, Lol!
You’re done a great job for Mr Darcy Annie, maybe you should be adding Theatrical Costumer to you notice board.

Your dunfing looks as colourful as ever and I’m not surprised that Jo’s picture was popular, it was stunning.

Happy Crafting!

Lovely curls. Our 2yr old grandaughter has curly hair now that it has grown some and red to boot! The red trait missed my sister and I and our children but our grand children have red hair. Apparently it comes out every 4th generation in our line. I'm loving those little dragonflies. Hugs Mrs A.

So, you have a handsome young man on your desk, Annie. How do I get one of those!!!!
You look as busy as ever. The pasta sauce sounds yummy and Lexi's hair is so adorable just like her.
Happy WOYWW

I was blond and curly as a child and hated curly. Now it's not so curly any more and I wish it was... never happy!! Love the photos and that Regency costume... have a good week. Helen, 40

Hi Annie. the costume looks great.I'm looking forward to seeing the dragonflies. Jo's picture was so lovely.
I like Lexi's curls. One of my lads had big loose curls as a baby and then went straight, but when he hit puberty, quite early around 14 years old, his hair just frizzed. he is forty now and still curly! ??
thank you for your kind comments about Baggins. Sadly his condition deteriorated over night and this morning I took the difficult decision to let him go. the vets waere brilliant and did everything they coulde for him. he has left a big hole in my life and an even bigger one in my craft room. he really was very special, but he is at peace now.

Have those fairies been visiting in the night and wrapping her hair in curling rags?

Love the curls! Hair is crazy when kiddos are young. My older brother was a blond at birth and then black! Then it lightened out to the same mouse brown all the kids got.

Your male model looks quite dashing in his fancy shirt. So pleased you could help him out.

What a dashing customer you have ! You have given me the push to make some sauces...thanks !

Your 'Mr Darcy' is looking good after your alterations to his costume!! Yummy tomato sauce - I love anything with tomatoes. Lexi's hair is gorgeous. My son had blonde curls - had to get it cut as he kept being referred to as she and then it went dark brown!!!

Fabulous photos and how lucky are you to have your own Colin to call around!

Unknown said...

ooh Annie - if only he was the real Colin Firth - I'd ask if I could come down again and hang around in your craft room.... but, it has to be said - he does look rather grand in his get up!

OOh - you have ripe tomatoes? We haven't fetched a single on in yet - but I most likely will be doing a bit of what you've done as it is a regular on our menu at home yum yum....

It appears I've missed quite a lot since not blogging - appears I have missed a wedding - I am so sorry. I will have a look around and see if you have posted.

Lexi's curls are delightful. My sister had shirley temple hair as a 2 year old - mousey blond and curly curly. As a 40 year old (although it happened before she hit 10), its poker straight and dark chestnut! Enjoy them while they're there and snap away with the camera!!!

Whenever C&C have one of those 'dumfing' machines on along with wool roving and talk of the felting I ALWAYS think of you and Jo. I keep threatening to send an email with a picture of my poppies you made - that'll show what experience and talent can do - and I shall say where it came from too...

all my love

Love that hair and the eyelashes on little Miss! I love fresh pasta sauce but don't have anymore in the freezer cause the past 2 years have been way too hot and dry for tomato plants to flourish. Thanks for visiting my blog! Vickie #67

Hmmmn! So do you have this chap's phone number and are you prepared to pass it on?
Lexi's curls are gorgeous and please don't ever let her have them cut off! I had mine cut off when I was 11 and have been trying to grow my hair ever since. That was a little while ago (!!)

Love that you persuaded your customer to pose for photos for your blog ... and doesn't he look the part.

You have been very industrious making your own tomato sauce - bet it tastes delicious.

Lexi's unexpected curls are lovely but what about those lashes ... to die for! She's going to save a fortune on mascara when she grows up :)

Thanks for sharing and I hope you are having a lovely weekend. Elizabeth x #101

He really does look dashing, doesn't he?
Looks like you had your work cut out for you this week. By this time those dragonflies are surely finished and the tomato sauce all eaten. The curls are just too adorable.
Happy very belated WOYWW!
