Not the best of days...

Yesterday was a sad day for us.  We not only attended the funeral of a good friend who was usher at our wedding 30 years ago but our little friend Skye had to be put to sleep. The funeral was probably the most beautiful I have even been to.  Our Crematorium was full to the rafters and there were many stood outside. He was carried in in a beautiful wicker coffin, the music was very special and many beautiful words were spoken....he had touched many lives.

Our little friend Skye was 14 1/2 years old and had been a very loyal little friend.  She suddenly became unwell in the morning and just got worse throughout the day.  On examination the vet said she had a heart murmur and a growth in her liver and was obviously in pain so we made the only decision we could make.....you will be missed my little friend.

Such losses make the heart hurt so very much. Each day gets a little better and eventually we find ourselves smiling at all the wonderful memories that our loved ones gave us. I hope your days will be filled with smiles so very, very soon.

So very sorry on losing your friend and Skye too. Our pets are more than just animals arent they? They are members of the family whose loss is difficult to bear.

We recently lost our dog and it is so hard but gradually the pain eases and you remember all the happiness they brought.

Oh, how very sad for you losing both your good friend and your little Skye. How wonderful to hear that your friend left such goodness behind and will be remembered well.
It's so hard losing the furry members of the family... it's 8 years now since our Ziggy died and we miss her still, every day, every time I put the key in the door lock the welcome isn't there.
Sending lots of love and hugs...

Oh Annie, I’m so sorry to hear your sad news. Our pets are so much a part of our families that it’s hard when we lose them and even harder when we have to make that dreadful decision that no one wants to make. All I can say to you is that I found it a great comfort when I lost my Emily, to concentrate on all the good times you had together and the fun and laughter your little furry friend brought into your life.

Oh what a very sad day for you. I can still cry for the loss of my little dog, Oliver, who left me in November '93 and I can feel how much you are hurting.
What a tribute to your usher, he obviously was a lovely man.
So sad.

So sorry Annie, I have just caught up with your sad news about your friend and your four legged friend both of who have departed this life for a better one. I have you in my thoughts now and feel for you. Keep smiling and the memories do become sharper and better as time goes on. Cling on to the good times.
