My week's really seem to be flying by at the mo. Our son, Mark and his wife, Gina and little Theo moved houses yesterday and our eldest daughter and her family are moving houses today so it's all change for some of the family this week. We wish them many happy years in their new homes.
- I've had a really busy week with my sewing and that always makes me smile.
- Hubby is now only working 3 days each week winding down to his retirement and we are enjoying our extra days together.
- Our garden is simply full of gorgeous colour....
- Our little fur baby Milly has been for a hair cut and here she is soaking up some of the gorgeous sunshine we've had this week....
- I've made a school Memory Bear for a lady in Sutton Coldfield this week so that's another area of the country I've reached....and that makes me smile. Plus there is another parcel of clothing heading my way today so that will be another area I will be spreading too soon. :-)
I hope you have enjoyed my smiles for this week and will leave me a little comment, so I know you've called by, and will then link up to your own smiles below.
Hugs,
Annie x

I have a question, Annie. Do all companies allow, encourage, or force soon-to-be retirees to only work three days a week, or is this specific to his job, work, or career? I ask because I did a study of the company I was interning for (had nothing to do with my dissertation) that showed many people who were about to retire (within about six months), had already mentally left their jobs. It was difficult to keep these people on task, especially in a manufacturing environment. It also showed that people who loved their jobs and were not really ready to retire, were more resistant to this forced change. Personally, I think this is a BRILLIANT idea and gets both parties (YOU and your husband) the opportunity to adjust to this change in your lives. Sort of like when you two became empty-nesters.
Now for other smiles: I have to applaud you on your green thumb. Your flowers are stunning and beautiful. All I have in my garden at the moment are greens and browns (grin).
You can NEVER go wrong showing Milly. She is such a sweetie and pretty much steals the show this week. What more could one ask for than lovely flowers and a cute dog!!!! LOVE how she poses, too.
I hope your children don't move too far from you. I love seeing the grandchildren and their antics.
Have a super Friday and a joyous weekend, too.
Hope all the moves are going well - exciting times for all. Lovely colour in your garden - it's not so sunny today but rain will do plants good. xx Jo
Hi Annie, it's a dog day! Maisie and Stan have had a hair cut this week and are looking like Schnauzers again instead of very small sheep dogs. Milly looks very smart too. The flowers look glorious and the new bear is a gorgeous colour. Just back from the gym so must go for a shower now and then I'll be back to visit everyone else. Have a lovely weekend, Angela xXx
Big changes in the family then. I hope they will all settle into their new homes and be happy in them.
Your garden is picture with all the different flowers in bloom. How nice that hubby can just reduce his days like that. It is quite a shock to go from working full time to suddenly have nothing specific to do.
I can see you will still be sewing for a few years yet, but I am sure you will ease off a little too so you can enjoy free time together.
Milly is lovely as ever. I am just now thinking about having Kim trimmed. he gets in such a state about it, so I am going to try him with a different groomer. I don't think i'll ever get him through the doors of the other one again!
Thank you for all the friendship and smiles. Kate x
Oh what lovely flowers.. your garden is a picture.
What? Both of them moving house on the same weekend? That is a coincidence. I hope they are not moving too far away.
Molly is gorgeous. She looks good with her fresh haircut.
Great that hubby is now home a bit more and can slowly get to not working and being at home. Has he got lots of plans of things he wants to get done, or is he one of those people that can’t imagine a life without their work. I hope he can keep himself busy.
You will never be bored I’m sure. You’re getting more and more in demand with those lovely bears.
Have a lovely weekend, (hope you are not expected to help with the move)
Hugs,
Lisca
Hi Annie, I suspect that those two house moves will be keeping you busy - childminding and assisting where you can. It must be a blessing for the family that Dod is on a three-day week too. I read Elizabeth's comment and realised that Alan's working week wasn't reduced leading up to retirement so not all companies offer a scheme that must help a worker, and spouse of course, come to terms with retirement. Your garden is very colourful and looking so pretty - love the rock rose. the pic of Millie made me chuckle - she obviously knows her place ... sitting between Mum and Dad. And she looks the bees knees after her clipping session. That's another gorgeous little bear. Looking forward to seeing what you make with the expected parcel. Have a wonderful weekend - I suspect it's going to be a busy one. Hugs, Ellie, xx
Lovely photos of beautiful flowers. Hope all the family are settled in their new homes. Fiat has recalled all Ducatos built in 2018-2019 so fingers crossed ours is ok. Have all my wee gifts finished now ready for the Crop-wheeeeee!
