WOYWW....

Wahoo wahoo he's back.  Who? I hear you ask.  Why, Mr Mojo of course.  I did just what I said I was going to do.....

I got out all my boxes of wool rovings, threads, silk fabrics etc and uncovered my 'Dumfer'.  I cut out a piece of linen and prepared it by zigzagging around the edges to stop it fraying then used fabric crayons and wool rovings to make a background.  I then got dumfing....and here it is so far.....

I rather like how it's going so far but it still needs more dumfing, some machine and/or hand embroidery and possibly some beading to bring out the detail.

It may well come with me to the crop in September to give me something to pretend to be working on while we eat cake and chat.

The other thing I'm going to share with your today is this desk full of babygros.  They were used by two tiny prem baby girls and were brought to me this week to make a bear out of.....the one babygro was so small that to make a panel out of it I had to join three pieces!!
Of course, being stretch fabric it also all had to be backed with iron on vylene so the bear was quite a challenge to make but......

.....here she is finished wearing the tiny tutu that the baby girls used to wear.  I did have to adjust the tutu a little but I think she's rather cute.

The other bear I've made so far this week is this blue one made out of a Dudley Girl's High School scarf.
This one came with more challenges because it was a fairly loosely knitted woollen scarf that had to be stabilised with fabric iron on interfacing and there was only enough of the fabric in the scarf to get three out of the four panels out of.  Thankfully I had some blue fabric in just the same shade as the school uniform.

Don't you just love it when you can overcome the challenges life throws you and the finished result is so lovely?   I get a big thrill out of what I do....can you tell?

I hope you have enjoyed your visit today and will leave me a little message so I know you've called by.  I will do my best to pay you a return visit but I have rather a lot of orders for my Memory bears and cushions this week.  :-)
Hugs,
Annie x

Now that's what you call a return! Lovely lovely piece of dumpf work...and I really love the idea that it might come in September for a closer look! I'm still considering what I'll be bringing to pretend to work on!

That is an amazing picture. I'd love to see it in the flesh. I believe that my crafty friend and I will more likely than not be coming; home footie match or not. I love your memory bears too; such painstaking work. Happy WOYWW Sarah #12

Surprise Annie, and I'm loving all the photos, while I played catch up. Your dumpfing is gorgeous. The cutest little bear from those babygros. You have a special touch with that sewing machine. And I love reuse of anything. Your eyespy quilts were so fun too. I'd like part of your energy. Have a great week.

Loved my visit as always. The little bear with the tutu is fabulous (as they all are) and such a treat for a little girl to grow up with.
Glad the mojo came back - in full force by the look of things. I await your picture in September as I want to know more about how to do these.
Hugs, Neet 5 xx

Hi Annie, I can imagine how small the babygros were. My youngest was born at 25 weeks and 6 days, weighed 2 lbs and 1/2 oz, and measured 11 1/2" in length! I can remember his suits hanging off his legs, even when he came home, and they were newborn size. 30 years ago it was nigh on impossible to get prem clothes. The bears look great, you did a fab job on them. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #16 XxX

That dumfing is fabulous! It would be great to see it in September, whether you're 'working' on it or not, lol!!! Is your dumfer machine very big? It would be interesting to see it in action :-D. The tutu bear is very cute, you did well to get the panels out of those teensy babygros!!

Hi Annie, back from the mercy mission but I was away longer than hoped for. Glad to hear Mr Mojo has returned - the dumfed piece is looking fabulous so far. Looking forward to seeing you work on it in September. I'm planning to bring some scrapbooking to 'work' on otherwise the DH will be wondering why he has driven me halfway across the country! Love what you managed to do with those teeny-weeny babygros and the tutu is adorable. Bet mum was delighted. Ditto the blue scarf teddy. All your teddies are delightful. Have a wonderful week.
