Another week has passed and we are getting closer to Christmas so there has been a bit of making going on here at Sewing by Annie's
I've made 50 little triangular bean bags [yes 50!! I have 5 little grandchildren and of course to play a game they need 10 each!] and two floor target mats [two families]. I plan other games for them to use their bean bags to play with too.
I've had a bit of customer's sewing too...these are 3 square table cloths to be used for coffee mornings at the church opposite where we used to live....it's nice to see some of my customers have hunted me down and found me at the new bungalow. :-)
But mostly over the weekend there has been lots of this going on at ours. This is my hubby playing with a hired digger to move the tree roots and a lot of earth to change our front garden.
Back at the beginning of September I share this photo of what the front of our new bungalow looked like before we took down the huge dying hedge on the right hand side.
This is what it looks like now....two very full skips of roots and earth and a lot of hard work thanks to my hubby and just look how much space we have gained.....I love it.
We plan to put weed preventing membrane and gravel down and new shrubs around the boundary garden.....we will get there but what I will say is we are really enjoying making it ours.
Thanks so much for calling by again this week. Please leave me a little comment to say you've called in and I will do my best to pay you a return visit [I'm sorry but if your blog uses google+ I am unable to leave a comment but I do call by and read what you've been up to].
Hugs,
Annie x

Wow, Annie - what a difference to the front of the house! It must seem so much bigger. Glad you're still managing to craft, in the midst of things. Happy WOYWW, Chris # 7
Yes, how much bigger your front garden looks! have fun re-organising it - I am sure it will develop beautifully. Love the bean bags - what a dedicated grannie you are! Helen 3

Hi Annie, happy WOYWW and thanks for visiting. Oh I love that you are making games for the GKids...gives me ideas for the future. Your yard is looking amazing, how much more space you have...it's satisfying to give your new home your own feel...have fun Cheers RobynO#39
Morning Annie, you have had fun making all those bags, what a brilliant idea. They will all be juggling with them soon as well as throwing them on the targets.
It isamazing how much garden can be 'disappeared' under hedging. When we took down the Leylandii around our garden we gained 8 feet along the side and nearly 10 at the bottom. Really worth while doing, looking forward to seeing waht you do with all that space.
Thanks for dropping by my desk and your lovelcomments.

Hi Annie, Bean bag games - I don't believe I have ever played games with them but what a lovely idea. Must do some further research, e.g. is it real beans you stuff the bags with? Doesn't the front of your house look different without all that hedging and shrubbery. The EM would love the opportunity to operate a wee digger like that :)
Have a fab and productive week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #47
Thanks for stopping by. I bet your hubby is enjoying this work. They usually like to play in the dirt. It will be a nice improvement and you have a nice view of pretty homes. Enjoy your game project and have a fun WOYWW

Oh what a difference! You have a lot more room now. We're living on a building site at the moment and it's not just a weekend.... so I'm amazed you got anything done at all!

Oooh! I want to play!!! Your game looks brilliant! There's so much fun to be had making your place 'yours'! Hubby getting to play on a digger must have been a bonus! Did you ever hear the Digger song by Nizlopi? It became my class song in my last year and one of the Dads brought a digger in for me to sit in - a huge one!! Happy Days!! Love all the space he's created! Thanks for visiting, Chrisx 57
Your yard looks so spacious now. Can't wait to see what you do with the space.

I can remember the joy I have always had in making a property my own. You just keep on enjoying it whilst you are young enough to do it.
Very impressed with David in his Digger - am sure we could get a nick-name for him from that.
Great idea to make the games you have done - what an inventive gran those kiddies have. Can I adopt you?
Hugs, Neet xx
Such a busy "Grannie" making all those bags to toss! I know "Grannie isn't my favorite name! My son has found it hits a nerve and when he sent the text about Charlie being born he said Hey Grannie!!! Children...thank God he gave us Grandbabies! WOW love the new view and the plans for the garden. Really will improve your site. Thanks for stopping by my desk and leaving a comment! Have a great week. Vickie #68
Ah Annie love the bean bags we used to love playing with them and still play in oldies group sometimes with throw in certain containers etc.. fun!! and well done on hubby clearing all that space! Shaz in Oz.x
Talk about a different look! This is fantastic. I thought I worked hard in my garden this week. Your hubby's hard work (and fun with the rented toy) puts my work to shame. Bless his heart.
Hi there. I am SO late visiting this week.
Well, and you reckon I am busy!!! The difference those trees coming out has made is wonderful. Well done.
I do hope that sister of yours is beginning to feel a little better. Please give her our love and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Thanks for taking the time to visit this week.
Take care. God bless.
