It's been a week of dumfing for me in between my sewing jobs....I've started a new large poppy picture :-)
This is where I've been creating.....sat at my craft table dumfing with all my yummy wools, threads and fabrics around me.
This is who was sat across the table from me on Monday!.....me, with my dumfer, and Jo with her sewing machine this week.
This is the stage I have got to with my poppy picture..... A wet felted background mounted onto a pre felt base with more wool rovings and threads dumfed into it. I will be machine embroidering details and will probably add hand embroidery and a few beads to it too.....watch this space!
If only you could smell this you would all be round for tea tonight. :-) It's a sign of autumn and colder days I guess when we get out the slow cookers but I do love the aromas in the house while they are cooking.....beef casserole in here today......yum yum

Fab pictures on WOYWW today and if I click twice they go massive.
Love those cubby holes - the open ones and the purple and lilac ones and what a fab view from your huge window - so much natural light too. Have to say WOW to the sewing machine on the left, looks like it has lots of features but what's that under the desk? Flat plate, cylinder under the desk with a disc and a long hanging stick?
Nice to see Jo too and that picture you are doing is beautiful - such talent - is that an ideas book I espy on the side with the poppy pictures?
Thanks for sharing so much this week and tempting me with that stew - need to get making one myself as it is so autumn now.

I was so sorry to read about Sam ...hope he is fine ... and giggled over the escape.When one is a mum or a nana one needs the ears of a bat and eyes that can see in every direction ...especially with twins.

Ooh looks like a lot of serious work going on in your place Annie. I'm hoping to get to grips with more machine embroidery once I get my machine seen to.
It was very frustrating when it broke down as I had spent a day and a half reminding myself how to use it before the workshop and was going great guns early on in the day. Not to worry !

Beautiful poppy dumfings! Yur crafty space does look so organised and tidy and not chaotic at all.
Now you've tempted me to get out my slow cooker... it's a must for easy Winter warming meals and it's certainly that time now!

As usual you are sooo busy! I took a look at your poppies and they are all just too nice to choose! I will though at some point!
Hubby said to me the other day he knows Autumn has arrived as I made the Christmas puds on the weekend, I only do them when we start lighting the fire earlier in the day!! I made some bara brith too so the house smelt scrummy!

Mhmmmm beef casserole - lovely! I am sorry you won't be at the crop but we will be thinking of all of you girls not attending and there will be loads of photos on my blog and others too - so watch out for our posts!

Oh yes, we had the veggie stew and dumplings three days running last week. At the request of the kids no less! Definitely getting chilly. Had to laugh when Devvie told me that Ruby had tucked up her Charlie (Bear) and Lola in bed last night with the promise of "2 to 6 blankets!" Where do they get these expressions?
Loving how the poppies are coming along. Am always intrigued by your progress shots of these - it's like you literally paint with wool!

Glad to hear the little munchkin is on the mend and not at all fazed by having his leg in a cast.
We've gradually moved into winter cooking mode too and the slowcooker is out and ready to be used. I can almost smell your casserole from here.

I'm an all year round slow cooker gal Annie, I can't live without mine....I always say, give me a slow cooker and I can manage without a kitchen!
so glad Sam is unaffected by the 'trauma'...Lordy how vulnerable they are, despite everything. Loving the poppies already, didn't realise there were so many 'layers' of techniques involved!

Love the poppy card you gave 'twiglet' for her birthday, and yet more yummy poppies here! Gorgeous! Glad the little man is on the mend; my 18year old had a plaster on his arm for a couple of weeks in the summer with a suspected break, but it wasn't a gorgeous green one!
Poppy picture looks fab can't wait ti see the finished result. I am so envious of your crafting room. Would love a room that was mine purely for crafting. But must be grateful for what I have. Hi Annie, yes I've been awol for a few weeks on WOYWW now. Another funeral. Really wish Christmas would get here quickly for the birth of our new granddaughter, it might make the start to the new year a lot brighter! As always you are always fantastically busy with loads of projects and craftiness!

Kids are lucky today to get the option of colored cast. I hope the little dear feels better! Your chair looks mighty comfy I think I've sat in mine too long and the cushioning is flat! I also admire that you get to sit in front of that lovely machine looking so into your hobby!Tamika#14

Hi Annie, I just want to say how much I really appreciate all the kind words and love your sending me, and thank you for the email :-). I think I really need to let out everything and I will email you because I really do need to talk to someone, I just need a few days still I think, I have found it so hard to comment back hence why I'm late, I think it's because as I sit here, knowing how much love you have sent me I am crying, sometimes I find it better to not talk, not comment as I am vunerable at the moment. Good news is I am back in my craft room which is helping me to feel like me at last not some failing mum. Your sister has been so fantastic as well your both amazing. I have just been catching up on all the Friday smiles and WOYWW, wow your dumfings are amazing and those little pictures you mounted are wow so gorgeous. Poor little munchkin, poor Shell I bet she will get a few bruises in the next couple of weeks. Mmmmmm yummy stew, it looks gorgeous, I would like a pot like that, think maybe I should invest in one, it would help so much, mind you cooking at the moment is pretty basic trying to still get around Shan's coeliac. It's her 16th birthday this week and next Saturday she wants a family party, because of everything that has happened I have left so much too the last minute and I promised her at least 80% of the buffet will be gluten free so she can eat almost all of it, *panic* *panic* think I better stop talking about that lol.
