As you know Twiglet joins me here for a Fun Day Monday so, apart from her helping me to do the cutting when I have curtains to do, we do our best to keep Monday just for fun, laughter and crafting. This Monday was no exception and for those interested the poppy picture I blogged on Monday has now been uploaded in the shop. I don't shut up 'shop' for our fun day so my customers still come delivering more sewing jobs and therefore Tuesday is spent catching up on all my sewing as best I can [and boy did I have some catching up to do this week].
I know this is Wednesday and it's the day organised by 'Julia Queen of Snoop' for us all to show and tell our work spaces but I feel I must tell you all I did yesterday to explain the state of my 'to do' rail today cos I would hate to let any of you think I'm slacking this week :-)
Here goes......I managed to...Shortened 3 pair curtains
Put velcro on the top of another pair curtains
Put leather elbow pads on a jumper
Repaired a torn dress
Take in the waist on a lined skirt
Put new elastic in a skirt
Shortened a pair of trousers
Take in the skirt sides of a dress
Take in the bodice of a boned posh frock
So..... my 'to do' rail today looks like this. It's only got one hanger on it :-)
This is another challenge I've been given. I have to convert a single white sheet and a union jack into a fancy dress outfit for Britannia :-) What fun.
What I'm gonna do is all planned so hopefully won't take me long and then I plan to attack this lot...
...These are my material boxes and I hope I can be allowed some time for crafty creations today. Who wouldn't want to delve into all that lush fabric and create something beautiful with it eh?
Also I have been given lots of new beads for Mother's Day and I am really looking forward to playing with them.
Lastly, but by no means least, I wanted to share with you all the lovely signs of spring that I found and snapped at the weekend. Isn't spring just the best time of the year? :-)
Our little violas have opened up their faces and are so bright and cheerful.
I have a bowl of gorgeous miniature daffs now in full bloom. How cute are they?
The flowering cherry tree is already in bud and the flowers are starting to open.
The pussy willows are starting to open up on our little weeping will tree.
Even the tiny red flowers on one of our conifers are all in bloom. They are so pretty close up and yet are easily missed when walking past.

Fab pics - So you have Spring down there then? We have snow on our hills so I think its still Winter up here!!!
My you have been busy. Don't envy you the conversion of the flag, be careful you don't just make a dress like the one ginger spice wore!!!
Thanks for sharing the spring photos, lovely.
Linbyx

Hugs Susie xx

Seems you've definatly been keeping busy, i just love your poppy art, and good luck with the sheet/flag outfit!
Am a sewer too (got the hem on a summer dress on my to do list) but LOATHE doing alterations, so think you are heroic! LOVE your signs of Spring pictures - think its nearly here (except in Scotland)!!
Love the spring flowers - and glad you took time out to go and look at them.
Just spotted a few snowflakes - eeeek! Is there no end to this winter?
Wipso, I love your show and tell stories! I hope you will share the result of that Union Jack costume? Lovely spring photos - nature seems a bit more advanced where you are.
boy, you were busy!!! how brill does your to do rail look now... nearly empty... you must feel a real sense of achievement after tackling that lot. I've broken out in a sweat just reading it LOL...
Anyway, all those little signs of spring are the most wonderous sights that fill the air with promise and life - and make you glad to be around to witness it. Thanks for cheering me up with all your photos.

Lovely new bead collection
Well, you have been a busy bee. And a Britannia costume? There's a challenge. Can't wait to see the result ;)
Have you got some extra hours in the day we don't know about?? It would take me all week to do just one thing off your rail!
Looking forward to seeing the costume when it's made. :)
Have fun with your new beads.xx
It's lovely to see everything coming into bud. :) We've got some snow this morning...bbrr..
Hugs, Gez.xx
Lovely signs of Spring!
Good luck with that costume and have fun with the beads xxx
Hmm, I think we should all come for a play day one Monday hehe.
We know you don't slack Annie, it amazes me how much you get through. I'm much too disorganised to get much accomplished ever! As for the Viking outfit, it was just thrown together, DD never gives me enough time to do them properly. Luckily the dress fabric didn't fray (but was a beggar to sew) so I didn't hem the sleeves or the bottom or round the neck LOL and the overdress fabric was lining which sewed ok, but I didn't have time to do facing round the neckline or armholes and just turned the edges under, so it looked a right mess round the neckline :-/ Whereas yours will be much more professional ;)
Of course you must have time to play with your fabric stash and new beads :)
All your plants look wonderful, don't remember ever seeing a conifer with red flowers, it looks beautiful.
