Hi fellow WOYWWers. If you want to join in the WOYWW madness fun then pop over to Julia's blog for details, link yourself on Mr Linky with a photo of your crafting space to share with the rest of the world.
This week has been another eventful week for me....
My weekend was spent visiting care homes for my elderly neighbour and what vast extremes there are when it comes to what is available. One I could have booked myself a bed in and another I wouldn't have booked my dog in and yet both have been assessed as excellent.
Fun Day Monday was just that......fun fun fun. Twiglet came down as usual and then at around 10.30 our fun started....my 2 gorgeous little Granddaughters arrived for a few hours while their Mummy was helping her hubby in their new business unit for their banner printing business. We had 4 1/2 very special quality hours amusing the girls. They were as good as gold and I feel so very blessed to have them in my life.
Tuesday was spent catching up on ironing and all the other little jobs that were put aside for better things on Monday. Oh and the odd customer or ten needing sewing and two or three friends calling in for coffee and a chat. All in a normal day for me :-)
Today being Wednesday I am exposing my space to fellow bloggers. My space has plans for changes.
We are planning to put a doorway in here where this fitted cupboard is so we can get through direct from my sewing room into our living room. It will mean losing this storage and the one end of my work surface in front of my window will have to move. I have to think carefully so that all changes are the right ones therefore more planning than doing is needed at this stage but last night we fetched a new door frame in readiness :-) It's very exciting and I hope to keep my blog updated with the changes as they happen.
This is a quick snap of my table full of my crocheted brooches, now all packaged and labelled. They have all been uploaded in the shop on the gifts shelf for anyone interested in buying one.
That's all I have to show today so now pop over to Julia's blog to see what's going on in other crafting spaces all over the world. Thanks for dropping in and taking the time to leave a comment. I really do hope you all have a great week. See you next Wednesday.

Sounds like a fun and busy week. I'm not surprised by your description of the care facilities. It's the same in the US, all with good ratings.
You have been busy with those brooches. You might just be outfitting an entire town soon (grin).
Yes, you have to weigh the advantages of adding a door versus losing all that usable space. Keep us updated, please.
Love the flowers xx Hugs Tina xx
Love the brooches. Good luck with your alterations.
Great brooches :0)
would love to be able to crochet.

I used to work in nursing homes and know how different they all can be. I hope your neighbour gets one that she likes. Glad you had fun with your grandchildren.

Alot going on and the brooches look fab :-)
Lovely brooches.
Take your time in choosing a home and talk to residents families before you decide. Good luck!

Hi Ya
you have had a busy week, special time with your grandchildren, hope the door fitting goes well, lovely broches, have great day, happy WOYWW, sue,x
I envy the fun you had with your grandees. Mine are far away. Don't envy you trailing round care homes, it' a hard task. Your local Sure Start place or DHSS should provide a booklet on choosing one which will be really helpful.
Happy WOYWW!

It would be a shame to loose that bit of your desk in front of the window - I love that bit, but if you need the change I guess you will have to put up with it! Lovely chrocheted broches!
Hugs,
Cardarian
those brooches are lovely .. have fun planning & doing your new workspace, it will be interesting to watch it develop :D
Those brooches look great. Glad you got to have fun with your grandchildren in among the work
It's like those undercover programs that go into these supposedly brilliant care homes. Awful watching, just terrible and yet there are some that are wonderful - how they can be put in the same bracket is criminal. Lucky your neighbour has you helping her.
Exciting goings on with your craft room. I'll be watching with interest.
As to my spare 4" I've been swinging round and using the dinner table, the chair, the kitchen counters and our back yard... much to OH's dismay. If his face drops any further I'll have to start calling him Droopy instead of Monica! :P
Lovely brooches - you have a nice selection there
Busy, busy, busy as usual Annie. I'd love to have you as a neighbour - don't get rid of the cupboard, I'll come and live in it LOL

Sounds like you have big plans for your craft space. The finished Pixie Pete in your earlier post looks great. Thanks for the snoop round.
Having that door there will be so useful for you, even though you will have to jiggle things round!
I am not surprised about the carehomes. Goodness knows how they judge them!!! It can be a minefield trying to find one which suits but I know you will find the right place for your friend X
Oh and I have made the skirt up now so all the bogies have gone!!! Thank you for your lovely words on that...really appreciated XXX
can't wait to see your changes....
Sounds like a busy week Annie, but fun too. Exciting developments in the crafty space, keep us updated!
Hugs
Brenda
It's all change at your house then! Don't forget, you could probably still put a cupboard above the door you're putting in!
Morning, well you have certainly been busy, hope you get the care home sorted out its a shame they are not all lovely, the ones I've visited have been fortunately all nice and organised and the people who lived there loved them. Lovely brooches you are a clever lady. Well I do hope your decision over the door works well and you will be happy with it.
Big hugs JO.xxxxx
remodeling the room? the best of luck with that one.

Beautiful brooches. Your space is very tidy, wish I could say the same about mine.
Remodelling sounds exciting... but as you say needs careful thought, I fancy a change in here but don't want to go out of the frying pan into the fire!
Glad you had fun with your granddaughters.
Chrissie
Oh Glad its not Just us with the Rubbish Homes. It broke My Mums heart trying to find one that was nice for Grandad. Sadly he died before they managed but ohhh they were all terrible.
wow your work space is v tidy.
Enjoy the rest of the week Hazelxoxox
Clean space and lovely flower broaches
Love Dawn xx
Care homes, residential homes, nursing homes... I cannot see how anyone can afford them then when you see what they get for the money... eeek!
I would hate to lose the storage but hopefully you will be able to re-organise it all somehow?
Love your crocheted brooches!!! They are beautiful ~jeni (118)
Can't believe you have time to make brooches after all your sewing and ironing. You achieve so much in a week it amazes me. Can't wait to see the changes in your work room, I love making changes, very exciting.
You make me tired just reading what you get up to. Are you going to block off the existing door to your room? Good luck with it all.
Cathx
Granddaughters are the best, I only have one so far but i feel very blessed also.
You've been a busy bee this week and good luck planning your alterations.

Lovely brooches..adn exciting chagens look forward to seeing the progress reports! Happy WOYWW Esther xx
Oh that is a big planned change. Mr D is a Joiner by trade - he recommends the measure twice cut once approach - but you have that ingrained in you as a seamstress! My workroom is through a door from the lounge and it's lovely - I can weatch TV with my ears and chat to my lovelies..and play. Perfect for me.
fun plans! keep us updated! your brooches are beautiful!
Love the flowers - good luck with the reorganising of the house!
those brooches are very pretty!
I love your flower brooches, mine always look a bit lop-sided. You sound very busy, so thanks for taking the time to share.

Those lovely brooches would be beautiful accents on a card.
Hope your proposed changes prove to be the best thing for you. Love the little brooches. Thanks for sharing your lovely space with us.

Sounds like you had a lovely day with your granddaughters. Your changes look interesting, well done for being patient tho, I would have knocked the wall down by now and then probably changed my mind about it all, lol. from Helen S
Sorry I'm late, blogger would not play yesterday!
I work for a company that fits out care homes, and the quality is so variable it's scary! Some homes want to buy the cheapest trash they can get away with (which we refuse to supply so they go elsewhere) and others don't mind what they spend as long as it looks good, then there are the ones in between. Often though, there are homes with a tight budget who may not have the most glamorous look but they do care about the residents and have wonderful staff. Some homes spend money on high priced furniture that may look nice but isn't really practical, and they can then charge a high room rate but cut back on staff to make maximum profit. Choosing a care home is a minefield, really, and the best way is to speak to relatives of residents in each home to get their views. Sorry, lecture over!
good job in finishing all those brooches. hope your renovation turns out just the way you want it!
Beautiful crochet brooches Wipso, and I love your workspace. Hope your alterations work out well - look forward to seeing the results!
Hugs, Sylvia xxx
Sounds like you've been busy! Hope the alterations work out ok, love your crocheted brooches! :) x

It must be so lovely to have grand-daughters. I love my boys to bits and wouldn't change them for the world, but do love the idea of being able to play with and spoil granddaughters of my own one day - and buy or make them pretty dresses!
I hope all your alterations go well and you find a good way forward with everything so that your valuable storage space isn't lost completely! xx
hmmm that will be interesting to see this project. I can't quite visualise where it will come out in your lounge. What exactly do you want to do that for? Is it to avoid having to go through the kitchen?
Anyway, it will be interesting to see the project in progress or a before and after pic at least. Hope your sewing doesn't get too disrupted in the process.
Big hugs

Busy lady!!! Fun reading your post and seeing your colorful brooches! Happy WOYWW!
You are always so busy ... and those crochet badges look fab! I am a bit late with my visits this week so I have just seen your new room plan too ... Looks fab!
I am late with the comments and so have the benefit of your sketch and can picture what you are talking about! Well, you're going to lose some space, but you'll save time in the long run! A pretty good exchange I'd say! Patsy from
