WOYWW....

Yes it is that day again folks.  For those that have been in a cave with no internet access for the last 18 months and don't know what WOYWW is yet then please pop over to Julia's blog to find out more and to join in the fun of exposing yourself in public [well your desk at least  :-) ].

As ever my life is never boring.  This week has been full of excitement....everything from a theatre visit for our Knit and Natter group on Saturday and another visit there on Sunday night to see The Brian Conley Show with Twiglet and my darling hubby to yet more A & E hospital visits, care home visits, and of course sewing, knitting and crafting in between events.

This week my rails have been filled and my sewing days have been busy.

I have made two poppy brooches. [sorry but the photo isn't too clear]

Finished another spike stitch design to go on the front of another bag and cut out the material to make the bag.....the material is actually purple [picture not good sorry] and I plan to use a patterned fabric to line it.

Last week several commented about my small tidy desk so I thought I would stand back and get a long shot of my main work surface with my [from the left] computerised machine, my industrial machine and my over locker on.  I love sewing here because I often can be sewing and have birds feeding in the feeder attached to my window only inches from me.

I know my daughter likes to check on my blog and leave me comments so this picture is just for her  :-)  Can you guess what it is yet?  She spent the afternoon here with me yesterday and decided to start some knitting and this is a pixie's ear [what else? I hear you say  :-) ].  We laughed and giggled while she refreshed her memory on how to knit and she reassures me she will have it knit by morning....watch this space  :-)

So that's it from me today.  Hope you all have a really great week.  I plan to pay you all a visit at some point....busy life allowing  :-)

This post made me giggle, but it also made me go WOW. I love your desk with all the sewing machines. I have trouble with my space, since I don't really have enough clearance between the back of the machine and the window blinds my paper catches on. I probably wouldn't have that problem if I was actually sewing fabric!

I notice while visiting WOYWWers in the UK, how high your windows are and what awesome shelves you have under them. I'm intrigued by this totally different architecture than I'm used to. Thanks for showing an overview of your space or I might never have put it together.

Of course it's a pixie ear, what else would it be, lol! Love the wide angle view this week, and as always you have been SO busy!

Me again! To answer your question, yes, the paper smells. You can minimize the scent by placing the dried sheets in cat litter, but Bleubeard won't allow me to do that. He says I have to get the non scoopable kind for that. So I just let mine air out and wait till the scent dissipates.

You mean that she'll have knitted the ear by morning, surely not the whole pixie? Gasp - you lot are genetically busy! I have to confess that as much as I love the handbag colours and design...first thought was a loo seat cover....clearly got my proportion eyes set wrongly this morning!!!!

wow, i love that view of your desk with all your machines. i would love an over locker but i don't do that much sewing to merit me getting one. and how nice to have a bird feeder right in front.
LOL, i am just like julia. i, too thought it was a toilet seat cover at first glance. it must be because of the way the two shapes are arranged. i like your plan to put patterned lining. i think it'll make a nice accent.

Lothian Crafts said...

I have to agree with Julias comment I thought it was a loo seat cover as well. Sorry. I love your broaches.

Love the poppy brooches.

I bought my very first sewing machine at the weekend!!! I want it for papercraft mainly, but I'm sure it will come in useful for fabric too!!!! I have always been afraid of them before - I think because I can remember when I was small and my mum sewed through her finger - ouch. I have had a play with it though I am now feeling very pleased with myself LOL !!
