WOYWW...

Well, please don't blink or you will miss it today.  On my desk is pretty much nothing.  I'm guessing everyone is on holiday cos its been really quiet here at Sewing by Annie's since last Wednesday.....that is until yesterday and all I can say is it certainly wasn't quiet.  There were several cups of coffee/tea drank and there just might have been a few cakes eaten.  There were ladies that lunched and pretty well non-stop chatter.  Why? I hear you asking......we had a visit from our friend and yours, the one and only Margaret from Glitter and Glue fame.  She called by, picked me up and we joined that much older sister of mine for some really quality time together....it was so lovely to see her and we had such a good catch up that none of us even thought to take a photo....sorry.

So here's my desk....

The only thing waiting for me to do today is this pair of torn jeans needing patching and darning.

I will have the company of my darling hubby today too.....he now only has to work tomorrow and Friday and then he retires and I will have him as my full time assistant stuffing bears.
Hugs all,
Annie x

Nothing better than a gathering of like minded folk and happy retirement to your hubby. You’re sure to keep him busy. I’m looking forward to Philip calling it a draw next year at 70. It means I won’t have to do anymore rotten VAT returns yay thank goodness for that xxx
Ps I’m sending you some pics of some ties that have been turned into rosettes in memory of a friend's dad. Could be a new line for you xxx

Two days to go til retirement for your lovely hubby-how quickly it’s flown. He can have a bear stuffing annexe in the moho and you can take turns to make the coffee! Is Margaret the lady who was going off in her caravan right after the crop? Hope you had a lovely lunch with the ladies. X

So glad you and Jo had a chance to catch up with Margaret Annie. Congratulations to your hubby on his impending retirement. I have mine at home at the moment with his back again although things are slowly heading in the right direction. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #10

Doddy won't know himself - G loves being retired, it's taken ten years off him! How lovely to see Margaret, I was only thinking about her a couple of days ago, wondering how her Grand Tour was going! I'm glad she's ok.

Oh that is good reading! so happy you’ve seen Margaret, love it when news of her travels get through! New motor home is very swanky Missus, just suitable for the newly smugly retired. Am so jealous!!! No doubt the sewing will come crashing back through the door as the holidays wind up and alterations and extensions need to be made!

Hi Annie, and lots of hugs to Doddy on his retirement! Happy to hear Margarets doing fine, did wonder how she was enjoying her Grand Tour. I've got a rough schedule for treatments & District Nurse visits, so I'll message you soon about possible dates for a visit. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #4 X

A new member of staff! Chief bear stuffer? Does Milly have a job too?
How lovely to have Margaret drop in on you. She is a gem isn't she. She and her trusty little caravan have certainly clocked up the miles recently. Long may she roam the roads.
I know it is not profitable but in some ways I am glad you have had it quieter, especially as this weather has been so hot for you to work in. Mind you it must be a pleasure to work in your room looking out on the garden.
Have a good week
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

Hi Annie, ok I have to ask ... what is the age difference between you and Jo? I know she is much older than you, cos you say so, frequently lol. That will be nice for you to have an apprentice bear stuffer- is he a volunteer or a conscript? How marvellous of Margaret to drop in and have a catch up with you and Jo. I can see many deep friendships have been formed through WOYWW, and the weekly desk hop and annual crop are part of something bigger, which is quite amazing. Have a lovely week Heather xx #9

Hi Annie, thanks for the lovely comment over at mine. Poor hubby! I hope he realises how busy he is going to be! When My hubby and I took early retirement everyone said we'ed be bored....well they were completely wrong Lol! Although we are able to choose what we do each day (to a certain extent!) we never have a single day when we have the time to get bored! Wishing you a very happy woyww, Angela x13x

Hi Annie, how lovely to have Margaret visit and take time out too - nothing like cake and coffee for a good chinwag. We've been out on the hunt for plant stakes to prop up some very droopy plants and, of course, we had to have lunch out too. It's too hot to do much of anything. Hugs, Ellie X #21
