WOYWW....10th Anniversary

Wahoo wahoo wahoo.  Today we are celebrating 10 years of fun and friendship with thanks to a wonderful idea our group leader Julia had all those years ago.  I'm sure when she first uploaded pics of her desk all those years ago she never imagined it would still be going strong all this time later.  So many of us have now met up in person and so many wonderful friendships have been formed because of our Wednesday fun.....So a huge thank you to Julia for linking us up every week [and thank you to Jan for holding the fort when Julia needed a few weeks off to recover from her surgery].

I have made some ATCs if anyone, who isn't coming to the crop on 1st June, would like one but so far only Angela has asked to swap.  It's not too late though so just email me at wipso2310@gmail.com and I will pop one in the post for you....of course I will be sending one to my pass it forward friend as well.

Ive a quick couple of pics to share with you today....

My week started off by making another School Memory bear for yet another local school that I'd not made one for before....so possibly there will be friends who will order one now too :-)

Then this little lot arrived on my desk.  It was all the washed pet blankets brought to me by one of my customers who had very suddenly, without warning lost her dog.  She'd was a good age but hadn't been poorly so it was quite a shock to them that they found her dead when they gpt up one morning so they asked me if I could make a Memory dog out of her blankets....oh and a little key ring using one of them too.

Some of the furry blankets were quite thick so not the easiest to use but, you know me, I love a challenge and my customer was thrilled to bits with the finished result.  Cute isn't it?

The blanket my customer wanted using for the little keyring was one of the thicker fleeces so to make it so tiny was a real challenge....but even that worked out well and my customer commented on just how thoughtful I was to use tiny heart buttons for the eyes....I guess you have to be a dog lover to understand the loss of a much loved fur baby.

Well folks that all from me for today.  That just leave me to say a big thank you to you all for calling in each week and for your love and friendship over the last 10 years.....hope to see a lot of you at the crop very soon.
Hugs,
Annie x

Hi Annie. How lovely that you could make the memory bear and dinky key ring for the couple who lost their pet.

Well you did do well with your makes this week out of those thick blankets. Love the idea you had of the heart buttons for the key ring eyes.
I have tried to email you but each time it has come back so I am doing something wrong but I wondered if Milly was ok as she does not get a mention these days. Don't want to ask at the Crop in case something has happened. Hope all is well.
See you soon, thanks for organising the Crop.
Hugs, Neet 18 xx

Morning Annie, I'm just about to dash out but had to take a quick peak, see what you've been up to. The story about your customer's dog is so sad but I'm sure the rabbit and keyring will be some consolation to her. So inspired of you to use the heart shaped buttons for eyes. Have a fabulous WOYWW 10 day. I'm off to play now. Hugs, Ellie x #12

Happy anniversary , so glad we 'meet' almost every Wednesday - I hope once, in the future (when I win the lottery?) to join the real live crop, it would be so nice to meet you in person! Until then, I feel blessed to be part of this crafty, creative, nice and supporting online tribe and come over to visit you and see your wonderful bears (and dogs!) Enjoy your day! How sad! In a way it's better that the dog didn't have to suffer and the family didn't have to make the painful decision to put her to sleep, but the suddenness of it must have been a real shock. I can tell the doggie was well loved and what a wonderful memento it is to turn her bed into keepsakes. Happy anniversary! zsuzsa #26

PS. I'd like to swap - I've sent you an email with my address!

Awh Annie I had a little tear in my eye reading about the dog blankets. It was only yesterday I picked up Kikki’s and moved it into her memory box. Maybe I should have it made into a memory doggie as well.

Your stuffed animal creations are lovely. And how sad for them, to have their dog die unexpectedly. It is a heart break any time it happens, but you expect them to live at least N amount of years, so a sudden death like that is a shock.

Oh Annie, this is such a touching post! I simply love the idea of making a "memory dog" from his blankets as a very special keepsake. I can well understand the dog owner being so thrilled with this - he's quite adorable, as is the little keyring! It's an absolutely brilliant idea. We really grieve the loss of these furry family members and this is something so tangible and special. Looking back at your previous post, there is a lot to smile about! Your little dog is adorable!

Thank you for your sweet and encouraging comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the "ups" on my post, and I really appreciate what you say about my PIP claim. It is very hard, and the stress is taking its toll on my health at the moment, and I'm feeling really rubbish. My lovely hubby is being so supportive, and said I should be having lots of treats to help me through it, like he did for me when I as having my chemo, and he said we should go for the power chair sooner rather than later, and think about selling stuff afterwards! So we may be getting it sooner than expected. Then we will be able to go to some nice places together.

I am glad that you and your hubby are able to have more time together now he's reducing his work hours. I hope he really enjoys his retirement when the time comes.

Happy 10th anniversary WOYWW,
Shoshi #15

Hi Annie - Happy 10th anniversary - Couldn't comment yesterday as blogger wasn't letting me - bah humbug! - so am trying to get around a few today whilst at least google and blogger are working!!!
You really have hit on a need with your bears - and dog! That was some challenge with such thick material - well done.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.
Take care. God bless.
