WOYWW....

I noticed the boss has posted early this week while enjoying her holiday in Spain so if it's ok for her I thought I'd join in the fun early too  :-)

As most of you will know I had 3 twinnie munchkins days last week so that just left me Thursday and Friday to play catch up with all my sewing jobs.  Life here is never boring :-)  I now have 1263 customers on my books and I still get one or two new ones each week so I'm kept pretty busy  :-)

It was a party day on Sunday to celebrate our youngest grandson Stephen's second birthday so on Saturday [yes, I know I leave everything to the last minute! ....something about a cobbler's wife going barefoot comes to mind :-) ] I looked in my wardrobe for something to wear.  Now girls when you've lost 2 1/2 stone in weight you can imagine just how much better I am feeling but when you check out last winter's clothing you can also imagine that my clothes just don't fit any more!!  Some I can take in of course but I thought I'd share a pic of one I tried on to give you a giggle today....

I bought this top for last Christmas and yes it was a loose fitting top but not quite that loose!!! In fact both my hubby and I can now get in it [he's lost over a stone too].

So? What does a girl do when her clothes no longer fit?

Answer.....Of course she spends all Saturday afternoon making herself a new top that does fit.  :-)

Do you recognise the material Jo [zart]?  It was the piece I bought in Abakhan on the day we came to see you.....and I love the results.  :-)

And the family we saw on Sunday at the party were family that we hadn't seen since I started to lose weight so I had lots of really lovely positive comments while I was wearing it.  :-)
Makes you feel great doesn't it?

I have also made my first two 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" patchwork squares to raise money for the Children in Need appeal.....if any of you can make patchwork squares and are willing to help us raise some money than please check out the details on this earlier post.
I am very happy to collect the squares here and will pass them on to my friend Jacquie to be made up into children's quilts to be auctioned to raise further funds so please contact me for details if you need them....wipso@toucansurf.com

The last pic I'm sharing today is one of my little munchkins examining some of Nanny Annie's buttons.  I think the love of buttons is in their genes cos they spent ages carefully looking at each one....I have such happy memories of doing just the same with my Mum's buttons as a child.

:-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Thank you for calling by today.  I hope you have enjoyed your visit....I think I visited everyone who visited me last week but I couldn't leave comments on them all for some reason so sorry for that.  I will do my best to do better this week but alas these computers and blogger sometimes have a mind of their own.

Hugs,
Annie x

Good for you, Annie. Not sure what a stone weighs, but it sounds like a lot from the looks of that top.

It was fun to see the Munchkins, too. Had to laugh about the cobbler's wife scenerio. I can easily relate since I've just sent a May birthday gift to a friend.

Happy WOYWW from #7.

WOW Annie! That is just fantastic, I don't know how much a stone is, but I can tell you are only a bit of your former self. CONGRATS and GOOD WORK! Love the kids looking at the buttons, I still do the same thing, even with my own that are all sorted. LOL
Happy WOYWW!

Well done on the weight loss. It is a big help with the diabetes. I have lost a bit, (no where near as much as you though), but I always lose it from the wrong places!
I love the cheerful material you used for your top. And the picture of the twinnies with your buttons made me smile. I too loved by mum's button box, and the boys have each, in turn, loved sorting through mine. Kate x

Love the pic of your munchkins with the buttons. I too can remember spending hours sorting through my Mums button tin- she used to have a Quality Street tin full of them. Not a big tin, probably about half the size they are now. Used to keep me amused for hours. I think I blame my Mom for my hoarder tendencies, lol. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #29 xx
Oh, and well done on the weight loss!

There is something special about buttons. Especially a grannies collection. I have kept the box my Gran had and can still remember the joy I used to get as a kid going through it. #70

Wow! Well done you! You must have looked so elegant in that pretty top! The little ones are so gorgeous! I too remember the joy of buttons. My gran made wedding dresses and I love playing with the scraps of material under her sewing machine, but best of all she had a friend who once let me play with a little hand-made chest of drawers, cardboard covered in pretty paper, and full of - you guessed it - buttons! I was in heaven! Happy Wednesday! Julie Ann xx #45

You are doing so well Annie, you should keep the red blouse as a constant reminder. I have a pair of jeans..it's so nice to have a positive reaction too, helps keep you going huh. Will check out the children in need post when we get home! promise. Meanwhile, have really enjoyed seeing the munchkins do button study, a pot of buttons is the best treasure!

I used to love playing with my Nan's buttons. She used to get me to thread them into sets and I swear she cut them as soon as I left as they always needed doing again!!

Oh! A button box! Nothing was so much fun when visiting my grandmother as looking through her button jars. What is the fascination, I do not know but I know it is there. I love your new top with its pretty bright colors on the dark background. Your weight loss is very impressive and I love the photo of you in the too big shirt.

Well done for your weight loss - I'm afraid some of mine went back on last week - lack of sleep and sitting on coaches probably(or maybe the pasta and bread!!!) I'll have to work on it again. Your top looks pretty and no wonder you got compliments. Loved the picture of your munchkins with the buttons, mine come out on a regular basis for sorting, counting or just choosing the "best" - there's nothing like a button box!!!! Thanks for visiting, Chris 111
