Back to work...

I've not worked for the last 3 weeks.  It was supposed to be a well earned holiday and a time of creative crafting and fun........so much for making plans eh?

I started off with a typical head cold with streaming eyes and nose and high temps for 48 hours.  Since then I've had a giddy head for a day or more when the bug planted itself in my ears, it landed on my chest and I've coughed til my head has ached, I've had no energy and have slept off and on day and night [in between coughing sessions!] and it landed on my vocal chords giving me a croaky hoarse voice.  What fun eh?

Today is my 1st day back to work.  My cough is considerably better but now I seem to have sciatica!  I'm dosed up with Nurofen to ease the pain and hopefully it will go as quickly as it has come.....did someone say Happy New Year?....I'm ever hopeful  :-)

I really do hope you've all had a better start to your New Year and it only gets better from here  :-)  I'm sure we all have hopes and plans for the year ahead..... mine?
  • Get well.....top priority
  • Make someone smile every day....I never fail
  • Craft for at least 20 minutes every day......need someone to return my mojo first
  • Enjoy my special family times and hopefully welcome new family members
  • Plan a wedding with my eldest daughter....such an exciting time
  • Lose weight and try to get a bit fitter .....not an easy one with arthritis
My aims are fairly simple and I tend to live for today and make today count before I plan for tomorrow cos none of us know whats around the next corner do we?  Just be happy and make others around you happy too.

Now, my blogging friends, we would love you to join in our fun.  Please pop over to our blog shop and join us in celebrating our 1st Birthday.  There are some seriously good bargains for a while......don't miss out.

Its getting to sound like an NHS phone in! I coughed most of night -hence a bit late checking my email etc. Hope your sciatica improves asap!!

Oh I'm so sorry for you both, what a waste of a good holiday and needed break. Make 2011 the year of little and often breaks and maybe it won't hit you so hard when you stop....? A theory I guess! I still have a numb leg from a sciatic attack that rendered me bed ridden in april - lots of anti inflammatories and try to stya mobile dear gal...preaching to the choir, huh!!
Hope things improve my day's end..x

Hello Annie, oh I can see why you're looking to the year ahead after the time you've had of it at xmas!

Ive heard that there are so many with colds and flu and coughs but, IM touching wood head, luckily theyve all passed me by. So, it seems there is one good thing about being a recluse!!

I do hope that you are soon rid of the bugs and germs that youve carefully nurtured for the whole of the festive season and might I suggest that you gently wave it goodbye now as you send it on it's way??!! :O

Good luck with your shop sale, I cant believe its been one year already!

Im really looking forward to hearing all about your working weeks and the preps you will be entering into for the wedding and new baby? (or am I mistaking that fact??) Its always a huge pleasure to get a glimpse into your creative week Annie, I think its because Im a frustrated seamstress at heart!?

Hope you are very soon better and have a wonderful year ahead!

Magic Wand
I wish I had a magic wand
To make it go away;
I'd wave my scepter over you
Until you were okay.
I'd think good thoughts; I'd send you love;
I'd transmit healing vibes;
My wand and I would surely beat
Whatever the doc prescribes.
But there is no magic scepter, so
I cannot cast a spell;
Just know you're often in my thoughts,
And I hope you'll soon be well!

Lovely blog and I will be back on a regular basis to see if you are feeling better very soon. I hope so.
I like your 'to do list'. I think we should all have one of those. I am with you on most of the ones on your list! Good luck!

Oh dear :( hope you steadily get better from here on in!

You really made me smile with your Mr Tumble comment - I can see on my Feedjit thing when someone has arrived on my blog after searching for him (LOADS I tell you!) and quite a lot click through to yours afterwards, I had been hoping that meant you would get some sales. Yay!
