WOYWW....

Happy Wednesday to one and all.  Here's hoping you're all well and happy.  Our dear friend Neet messaged me earlier in the week to say she's back in hospital again but as yet I don't know why....I just hope whay ever it is they can get her well and back home soon.  Sending her lots of love and hugs.

I've been busy bear making again...these two are in memory of a much loved 98 year old Mum....they are made from her jeans and favourite jumpers [yes, she still loved wearing her jeans at 98].

I've also been recovering the seat pads on our kitchen chairs/stools.

We are having the kitchen, halls and utility floors tiled so I thought new chairs pads and curtains would look good.

I know many enjoyed the colours of threads in the blue/green drawer so once I had time to do my two other drawers I thought I would let you see them all.

I do use lots of threads and if something needs overlocking then I need 3 reels of those colours to thread up the overlocker.

At least now I can easily see the colours and they are no longer tangled up.....good job well done :-)

I've also taken time out to do a bit of baking this week....cheese scones.  And they tasted every bit as good as they look....please help yourself to one to have with your cuppa.

If you leave me a little message I will do my best to pop over to yours to see what you've been up to this week.

Hugs,

WOYWW...

What a lovely week of celebrations we have had.  I managed to get round everyone last week though I think blogger was playing up a little and I missed to leave a comment on a couple....sorry.  We sent out lots of ATCs and have had a steady flow of swaps back through our letter boxes....sharing them out as they have arrived has given us an excuse for a coffee and catch up :-)....Like we need and excuse :-)

These are the ones I've had so far...

I've snapped them all, made collage and then added the names by each.  Thank you to each and every one of you.  It's so lovely to receive such a lot of happy mail.

Last Thursday I spent my day in my sewing room sauna steaming all these dresses....by the time I'd finished I was rather hot and bothered and my arms and shoulders felt like they had had a work out :-)

Since then I have made my chair, that I sit on to sew, a new cushion pad....if I spend all day sitting sewing the base of my spine suffers so I needed a little more padding :-)

The other things I have to share with you this week are these two fluffy Memory bears made from two favourite blankets....they have voice boxes inside too [not sure how I feel about those!].

I had so many responses over on my Sewing by Annie Facebook page to the two special bears in memory of the baby girl born sleeping that I have launched a special offer for 10% off the first 10 Memory Bears ordered as a thankyou and to welcome all my new followers so if any of you are wanting one making please give me a shout.

WOYWW.....

Hello all and welcome to my weekly catch up on what's been going on this week here at Sewing by Annie's.

It's been another busy and varied week with everything from.....

The next Bridesmaids dresses to alter....the big one is actually a lovely purple in colour and the little flowers I've sewn on the front of the little dress are the same purple to match....very pretty too.

Gina and Mark had  large curtains cut down to make smaller ones to fit the windows in their new house so of course what was cut off was perfect to make two large floor cushions to match.  I used the curtain lining to make big cushions then made the cushion covers to match the curtains....they already have smaller cushions to match.

Little Theo says he's a big bot now and was far too big to want to sit on the plastic booster cushion 'like a baby'! so last week we bought two foam cushion seat pads and since then I've cut them to fit our kitchen chairs and covered them in Noddy fabric to make 'big boy's' cushion to so he can reach the table at meal times.....Cos he's not quite as big as he thinks yet :-) :-)

My last pic is a puzzle for all you expert gardeners out there.  These plants have grown from a packet of wild flower seeds we scattered and are a complete mystery to us.  I thought they were Evening Primrose plants but as yet they have no flowers [or any signs of flowers coming yet either].  They are now about 5 foot tall!  Do any of you have any idea what they might be?  Please help us solve our puzzle.

Thanks for calling by.  Please leave me a little message so I know you've been and I will do my best to pay you a return visit ASAP.

WOYWW....

Happy Wednesday to one and all.  What a gorgeous Easter weekend we had here.  We spent most of the weekend in our new back garden laying a new path and lawn and making a start on reshaping it all in readiness for our building work.....still no plans to work to but really hoping it won't be too much longer now.

So without more a do I will get on to what you've come to see today....

On my desk today is a job in waiting.  This is a job that won't bring in funds though as it's for the seats in our own back garden :-)  I will be making covers for these possibly today :-)

The other thing you can see on my desk today is my little pile of goodies put out in readiness to make a start on ATCs for the up and coming swap.....like the colours I'm using this year?

If you fancy swapping with me again this year I will be taking names soon.  :-)

Thanks for popping by to see what I've been up to this week.  If you leave me a little comment to let me know you've been I will do my best to pay you a return visit as soon as I'm able.
Hugs,

WOYWW.....

Good morning my wonderful blogging friends.

Firstly I want to make a special offer to all my WOYWW friends.  I am reducing my rubber stamps for one week only by 20% [postage still to be paid in full].  To qualify you have to be a WOYWW and as the stamps I am selling are already less than half the price I bought them for this is a real bargain.  So folks if you are one for a bargain then please pop over to the shop and grab yourself a couple of sets.

I have to say I am still on cloud nine from all the exciting news on Saturday. [please scroll down if you want to see why  :-) ].  What has really spooked me out is I have now predicted all my 5 grandchildren successfully [even down to the exact weights of the two we already have!!].  I am aware I have a 50 50 chance of being right but 5 out of 5 is pretty spooky......and I really had no doubt as to what they were  :-)

I am going to show you what our friend T made on our fun day Monday this week.  T is pretty new to sewing and she came armed with material and a seat pad from her newly painted garden garden shed that she is converting to a summer house.  Twiglet and I helped and guided her into making her new seat pad cover including putting her first zip in and by the end of the afternoon she very proudly went home carrying her finished project.  Isn't it pretty material and didn't she do a wonderful job girls?

This is what is on my work desk today.  It's gone Wedding crazy here over the last couple of weeks.  I have shortened 4 bridesmaid dresses [3 hems each!] and still have another to do and isn't this Wedding dress just gorgeous?  It's a sort of oyster colour and has lots of beaded detail.  I have to shorten the front by about 1 1/2" and thankfully the netting and under skirts are short enough to not need altering cos there are loads of them.

On top of the wedding items I have also had prom dresses, evening dresses and several customers arrived with bags full of other items needing altering.  It was certainly one of my busiest weeks and of course it all had to be done in just 3 days cos I'd taken Monday as a catch up / crafting fun day and Tuesday was a 'have fun being a Nanny day'.

I wouldn't change my life for the world.....I have more than enough wonderful things going on that the frustrating, not so wonderful bits fade into the far distance.

Now girls it wouldn't be me if I didn't share a few garden bits with you....

Skye said she would pose for you so you can see how my Triffid is growing.  Still no flower and it seems to grow literally inches daily!

And to leave you on a high with a smile on your face I have snapped this treasure for you.  This is a poppy plant blooming for it's first year.  It has just 2 blooms on it and this one, believe it or not, is 8" across!
It's just gorgeous.

Right friends, thank you so much for dropping in and sharing my world.  Pop over to Julia's blog and join in the WOYWW fun and then go and have a wonderfully creative week.
