This week's smiles....week 401

If you read my Wednesday post you will see that I was feeling pretty rough...and I still am sadly.  It's a case of teaching your grandchildren to share and they, of course, even share their bugs.   Hopefully it will go soon because it's sapped my energy levels and we have the boys for a long weekend this weekend so I think I will be needing all the energy I can summon :-)

Monday night we had a session with a dog trainer with Peggy and, as you can see she was 'dog tired' after.  The trainer said she did very well and is a fast learner .  We have had training sessions every day since and she seemed to have grasped the idea of what is expected of her.

I'm labelling this photo 'the promise of things to come'.  There are signs of Spring in every corner of our garden and I love it....that's got to make you smile surely?

I saw this on Facebook and it made me chuckle...I just felt there are so many of these amongst us.
Can you find yourself or maybe some of your friends?

Of couse, I have also found you some funnies...I hope something here makes you smile.  Please leave me a little message before linking to your own smies at the bottom and stay well and happy.

WOYWW....

Here we are at another What's on your work desk Wednesday.  I love catching up with my blogging friends all around the world and seeing what you have all been up to each week.  I've a lot of bears waiting to be collected this week.

These 4 were made in memory of a much loved Grandmother and they have gone to their new homes in Merseyside.

These two were made in memory of a man who died suddenly in his 40s...far too young.  I made them out of his favourite two shirts and ties and...

....I also made this cushion to give to his Mother.  We shouldn't outlive our children should we?

I've also had some creative time so I finished off my Spring wreath....I'm really thrilled with how it turned out and it's now hanging on my sewing room door and makes me smile every time I look at it.....Spring is on it's way :-) :-)

That's all from me for today.  I will hopefully pop round to all my favourite blogs to see what you've been up to this week.

This week's smiles.....week 508

Another week has passed and I have more smiles to share with you.

As promised on Wednesday here's a few photos of Louie's 1st birthday celebrations.  There was an open day at their house last weekend for his family and friends to call in to see him and they then went away to spend a few special days in a caravan to celebrate as a family.
Gina made the amazing cake...Louie loves Ted the tractor and it was a big hit with all that saw it.

Our little garden is bursting out into colour everywhere we look and I love it.

I wouldn't be a Friday without a few funnies of course.

I hope you find something to make you smile and will leave me a little message before linking up to your own smiles at the bottom of the page.

This week's smiles ....week 507

Another week has passed and I've had plenty to smile about thankfully.....I hope you have too.

As promised, on Wednesday, I am starting off with a few pice of Lexi and her dancing group from the Competition day at Oswestry school last Sunday...

Here's Lexi doing some of the 7 dances she entered into..2 solo dances, 2 duets and 3 group dances and she was judged 2nd in 6 out of the 7 so we are soooooo proud of her.

The bottom three pics are to the song..'This girl is on fire'....and she def is :-)

Here she is with her medals [top right is her very proud dance teacher].

It's such a brilliant dance group. Lexi loves her dancing and has really grown in confidence over the years she has been learning.

Gina sent me this photo of Louie this week and it makes me smile every time I look at it...he had just woken up and still has bed hair but is such a happy boy....he will be a year old soon!!!

Doesn't time fly?

I thought I'd share the trees we have in our garden today.  The blossoms are so pretty and the crab apple trees are just opening up ready to bloom too.

Of course it wouldn't be Friday without a few funnies [I hope none offend].

Finally I would just like to wish you all a very Happy Easter weekend, whatever you have planned.

Please leave me a little message so I know you've called by and then link up to your own smiles at the bottom.

This week's smiles....week 405

We've got through another week of lockdown and I'm still smiling....I hope you are too.

There are signs of Spring popping up in every corner of our garden and that is definitely something to smile about....I love Spring.

I've had flowers through the post this week and that really made me smile.  I love freesias especially and even had them in my Wedding bouquet a few years back.

Life in lockdown for the family is far from easy when homeschooling has to be fitted in with full time work but I am really loving the photos I am being sent....This is my baby boy with his baby boy :-)

And finally here's a few of the funnies that have had me chuckling this week...I hope they will make you smile too.

I hope you are all keeping busy doing things you enjoy and are keeping safe and well.  I'm sure we can all see the light in the tunnel now so just keep smiling and we will get there.

This week's smiles....week 358

Another week, another head cold but still plenty to make me smile thankfully.

I like to take a little time out of my busy life to focus on the good things in my life and to share just a few of them hoping to make others smile too.  It does me good and I hope it rubs off on all those who visit each week....please feel very welcome to share your smiles too by linking up at the bottom of the page.  With all the doom and gloom in this world we live in I like to do my bit to share a little happiness.

Shell shared this photo with me this week of their puppy, Jet watching the telly.  She sent me a video too and it showed Jet empathising with the corgi in the film...it made us all chuckle [I'm sorry but I'm unable to share the video with you].

Little Jet is growing fast and is such a lovely little dog now.

My smiles have mostly focussed on the signs of Spring around our garden.  There seems new life everywhere I look so I popped out with my camera to share a collage of what I found with you....Spring is on it's way....wahoooooooo.

Or is it?

I found these few funnies on Pinterest to make you smile....

Looking at our garden...this one seemed appropriate :-)

Then....with all the bad weather we've been having maybe this one is right?  :-)

Thankfully we haven't had a lot of snow and what we have had hasn't stayed long but this one made me chuckle.

Then I found this one and, as today is the last day of the course we have been having at the gym and we can't afford the £800 plus they want for another year there, I thought maybe this one might be right for me?

Sadly this head cold has included earache and vertigo so we have been unable to got to our last few sessions at the gym but hopefully it's given us the insentive to get and stay fitter....fingers crossed.

This week's smiles....week 314

Wahoooo Spring is here so what's not to smile about?  I think this has to be my favourite season by far.  I'm surrounded by sprouting garden flowers and every field round about appears to be full of little lambs and new life.

We had a ride out in the motor home at the weekend and there really did seem to be new lambs everywhere I looked....and of course from the front seat in a motor home you can see over the hedges so I could see so many more than from a car.....I love the Motor home life.

I have a few pics to share with you but none of the lambs sorry.

Tuesday was a fun filled day spent with my hubby and little Theo.  I really love this photo because they were deep in conversation about what they were making and it was all the more special because the K'nex they were playing with belonged to Theo's daddy, Mark and I have very happy memories of him playing with it too.

Lexi and Sam came for an hour after school on Wednesday while their mummy was at their parents evening....the Lego is always something they all love playing with and some of that was mine when I was little....it very long lasting isn't it?  :-)

These little violets are just outside my sewing room door and they make me smile every time I look at them.  As a child I always picked a few of the first primroses and violets for my Nan so these hold very special memories for me.

Last week I included a pic of the very first tulip in the garden but now they are opening our everywhere and there are red, yellow and cream ones too....just gorgeous.

This is a tree we planted in our back garden just a couple of years ago and I couldn't resist snapping this pic yesterday when I noticed it was all coming out into bloom....just look at that blue sky behind it!!!  There wasn't a cloud in the sky.

There you go.  Maybe you can see why I love Spring?  I hope I've made you smile too.

This week's smiles....week 264

I don't know about you but I've got that Friday feeling again.  It's been one of those weeks when a few things have annoyed me but I'm determined not to let them get to me and plan to focus on what's made me smile so here goes...

Our garden is full of Spring flowers and I love it.  We've had some lovely sunny spells and that's opened out so many blooms this week.  In the bottom right photo you will even see that we have the first buds coming out on our little willow tree.
Saying that there has still been colder spells so this is the other thing that's made me smile...

It's my latest batch of homemade chicken and veg soup, just what you need for lunch eh?
I really love home made soup and this was really yummy.

I also found some funnies to share with you but alas the lap top is playing games with me and wont let me share them so maybe another day.

For now just leave me a little comment so I know you've called in and then link up to your own smiles below.  I really hope life is being kind to you all and you have lots to smile about.

This week's smiles....week 262

Oh what a lovely week it's been here at Sewing by Annie's.  Last week we were up to our ears in snow and this was the view out of my sewing room door....

Some of the snow drifts were very deep as you can see and that little lot was covering my little tete-a-tete daffodils!

The snow seemed to be with us for days and our youngest daughter was snowed in for several days with 3-4 foot drifts on the road from her home!

The snow eventually disappeared over night and on Wednesday morning there wasn't a sign of it in our garden.

Just look what I've snapped for you....bless them they are no more than about 4" high but have survived being completely covered in snow and the sunshine we are having now has opened out the very first of the blooms.

I had a special little visitor arrive at 7 on Tuesday morning because his mummy had been called into school to cover for another teacher who was off sick.  Bless him, he's cutting big back teeth and had been up a lot in the night so we had lots of cuddle times and it was a long day for us all but he never fails to make me smile.
I love the stage he's going through now....he's like blotting paper and listens to everything you say with such interest....and copies everything too.
I had lots of toys out to play with but his favourite toy of the day was a new shoe box....isn't it always the way?

Spring is definitely on it's way.  Theo enjoyed a sneaky preview of the baby chicks that had just hatched for a project at his mummy's school....don't you just love a fluffy new hatched chick?....Theo did as you can see.

That's all my shares for today.  Please leave me a little message and then, if you can, link up to your own smiles below.  Thanks to all who join in each week.

This week's smiles...week 259

Well hasn't that week flown?.....it has for me.

It's a quick post for me today featuring all the signs of spring in the garden this week.....

I just love Spring so the signs of Spring never fail to make me smile.

From the top....
  •  There are daffodils in bud and I have seen some already in bloom where they are a sunny sheltered spot so ours wont be long.
  • The crocuses are popping up everywhere...such sunny little faces
  • Where we put gravel on the flower beds in our back garden the tulips are pushing their way through now....we had been a little concerned to see how they would manage.  Isn't nature clever?
  • We even have a little primrose starting to flower....the leaves look a little nibbled by something so I'm hoping whatever nibbled those will leave the flowers alone.

So that's all I have to share with you today.  I hope the signs of Spring make you smile too.

This week's smiles....week 256

Here we are at the end of yet another busy week for me.  Lots more sewing, many more Memory bears made and spare time has been spent making little dolly clothes......

.......and this is why I do it....

Here's Phoebe and Lulu all ready for bed in their pyjamas and dressing gowns holding their dollies all dressed for bed too.

And here they are all ready for school with their dollies all ready in their school uniform too.  I just love little girls to stay little girls for as long as they can....they grow up quick enough so it's so lovely to see them playing with their dollies.

I must say though that their mummy has now set them up with their own email addresses so I now get emails of thanks from them both and they really make me smile too :-)

Also here's Lexi with her dolly wearing the little pink / black dress with the matching black leggings.  It makes all the effort worth while just to see their happy faces with their dollies and their new fashions.
Can you see what has also been making me smile this week too?....you might have to click on the photo to enlarge it but there are little snowdrops in flower in the corner of our garden......wahooooooo Spring is on it's way.

I love Spring so the first signs it's on it's way always makes me smile.  We also have daffodils shooting up everywhere too so I have lots to smile about.

I hope you have enjoyed my smiles for this week.  Please leave me a little comment so I know you've called by and if you can then link up to your own smiles below.....I really do love seeing what makes you all smile each week so many thanks to those who join in the fun.

This week's smiles.....week 207

Hello all.  Here we are at my weekly blog looking at my smiles for the week.

Many thanks to the 6 who joined in again last week.  I love seeing what makes you smile each week so thank you for joining in the fun.

My smiles this week are of the signs of spring in the garden.  I really love Spring so it always makes me smile when I see it getting closer.  The nights are drawing out now too and that also makes me smile.

We planted snowdrops up in the one corner of our garden mostly under some new lawn and they are now starting to get established.  It might take a few years for them to really be a good show but I just love it when they fight their way through the frozen ground.

The front garden had daffodils sprouting up everywhere now and as you can see there are even some coming into bud.

Spring is on it's way....wahooooooooo. 😍😍😍😍

That's it from me for today.  I've had a busy week with sewing projects so it's been a happy and productive week. Please leave me a little comment so I know you've called in and if you can please share your own smiles by linking them up below.  Go on, lets fill our week with smiles.

WOYWW.....

Hello all on this beautiful Spring day. Yesssssss I'm actually feeling better thanks to all the lovely comments, kind thoughts and prayers you've all sent me (think the antibiotics helped too). You are such a lovely bunch. Hope you like the new Spring header for my blog....it's a photo of the gorgeous flowering cherry that's in our garden right now and I just had to share it with you all.

A quick update on the house move....we have put it back on the market this week. Our buyers are a long way off from getting their mortgage at the mo and even when they submit their end of year accounts at the end of April there is no guarantee of them getting what they need so we really had no choice. We really don't want to lose yet another bungalow that we have set our hearts on.....please keep everything crossed for us.

...latest news is that we have already got a viewing on Sunday with a couple who really want to buy the house.....fingers crossed.

So? What is on my work desk today?

Of course I have a huge pile of knitted squares now.....up to 129 at last count!! 120 of them have been joined together in 2 x 2 squares now and I've crocheted around them in white....I love the effect.  :-)

I was running out of nice cheery colours in yarn so these three new balls just jumped in my basket at Charlies at the weekend  :-)....I may have a while to knit yet after all!

The only other thing I have to share with you today are the gorgeous flowers that are coming out all round the garden here....stunning or what?  Really wish you could smell that magnolia.  Enjoy.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit today and will leave me a little hello comment to say you've been.  I must say a huge sorry to a few of you last week who I just couldn't get round to....I really was feeling pretty rough all week so hope you forgive me.  I hope to call in on as many as possible later today to make up for it.

Hugs,
Annie x
