WOYWW.....

Hello folks.  It's been so lovely to see all the wonderful photos of the crop from last Saturday....it really did look like a lot of fun was had by all and I really do wish I'd managed to go this year. [Life just gets in the way at times doesn't it?].  In fact it was just as well I didn't plan to go this year because on Friday I had my routine diabetic eye screening check and this is what I ended up like!!!!

Ouch!!  I ended up needing a visit to A and E on Friday evening, having a very painful night all Friday night and having to see a Dr in the acute eye clinic on Saturday morning.  I think it was something to do with a blocked tear duct or something but I paced the floor with pain all day Saturday so if I'd planned to join in the fun at the crop it would all have been spoilt......thankfully my eye is now improving daily and the pain has now gone.

So what's on my desk this week?

This is my industrial sewing machine!

This is the little chair in my sewing room!!

This is the stair gate between my sewing room and where my new sewing room will be [when it's been built!].

And what you can see draped in every area of my life at the mo are b***** curtains!!.....and you all know what I think of curtains don't you?

I had to make two smaller pairs of curtains from a large pair so, with a bit of help with that much older sister of mine [that now lives just 5 mins away :-) :-) :-) ] they are well one their way to being done now :-)

What's rather more interesting is....I've now finished the quilted book cover using the poppy fabrics and I love it.

Also there's a new tissue box and the plans for my next project  on my desk today.

So there you go.  That's all from me for today.  My darling other half has a few days holiday this week so we will be having a fun day with the twins today and my bloggy visits will have to be done either later in the day or tomorrow but if you leave me a little hello message to say you've called in I will be over at yours as soon as I'm able.
Hugs,
Annie x

Don't forget to send me your details via email to wipso@toucansurf.com if you would like to swap ATCs with me next week....I've still got a few spare ones :-)

Not sure how I missed Friday Smiles, but I didn't even realize it was Friday until late Saturday when I read Elizabeth's comment to me. Some days I'm a dork!

Hope your eye is better. it really looks painful, and with your asthma, that's not a good sign.

So glad your "much older sister" came around to help you with curtains. I know she must have been a big help.

I won't be by this Friday since I'm going out of town for Memorial Day (a Federal US holiday). But I'm sending good thoughts and hope you have lots of smiles. Happy WOYWW from #1.

Forgot to ask. Did you send ATCs to Julia? If so, you and Jo will be getting one from me.

Oh dear, I know how painful eye pain can be. My heart goes out to you for what you went through. Glad it got sorted.
Curtains - now that is something I don't mind sewing - because they are easy and just straight forward. I even made those swags and tails and matched the pattern up on the curtains in our lounge. Not started trying to do a patchwork like yours yet but still intend to when other things get out of the way.
Will send you my addie in case you haven't got it.
Hugs, Neet 17 xx

Hi Annie...oh my I do hope your eye is totally better by now, no fun at all, eyes and ears and teeth problems. I'm glad it's you doing the curtains and not me - nice green colour, and your notebook cover is gorgeous, I was reading about that crazy patchwork on Pinterest today - great way to use up scraps. Cheers and take care RobynO#16

You made me laugh with your comment about the curtains..they give me the shivers too. I don't know why, but they're such a pain to do!

Gosh Annie, poor you - that sort of pain..there's no way of easing it at all, nowhere to comfortable rest it if you know what I mean.so glad you're on the mend now. And can see straight to do those very green curtains!!! Just the job worth getting well for!

Oh, your eye does look painful, Annie, but I'm glad that it is improving now. The industrial machine looks, well, industrial, and big too. You have quite an arsenal of sewing machines - not that I'm keeping count - and not that any of your machines make altering b..... curtains any more of a pleasure too :) Have a very enjoyable few days with hubby and the twins. Ouch, that looks painful, Annie. I'm glad you are feeling better now.
I had to laugh at your curtains, but at least you've had some therapeutic sewing, your notebook is gorgeous.
Take care

Owch! I saw your post lunchtime, but could not comment. Your eye sure looks sore. Glad to hear you are up to being with the munchkins all day though.
I know what you mean about curtains, though I actually like to do them on the treadle...kind of therapeutic!

Ouch! That looks like one very sore eye! It's so important to have good eyesight when working with sewing machines as its such fine work. You really need to be able to clearly see what you're doing to prevent mistakes and accidents. I'm glad to hear that your eye got better and you were able to get back to your sewing.
