WOYWW.......

It's been a really exciting week. Everything from gardening, sewing, crocheting and meeting the lovely Linby to a brilliant night out at the theatre and even a blog anniversary. Never a dull minute here :-) For those wanting my crocheted flowers they are now bagged up and available in the shop.

This morning this is what is on my work desk....

......It's the material for yet another waistcoat for one of my customers and what fun the material is [hope you can see a little of the animal design on it]. This waistcoat is one I have designed especially for a disabled gentleman. It has lots of special pockets with anchorage rings in each to attach things like his mobile phone and a wallet I made for him. He has little use in his one arm and leg so has to use a walking stick and the waistcoat enables him to carry his daily needs around with him and to keep his personal belongings secure when he does his voluntary work out in Africa every year [he drives and is very independent and could teach most of us something about not giving up when times get difficult]. This one the sort of jobs that my nursing knowledge helps with and I have done all sorts of adjustments on clothing to help with medical needs [ including putting popper tape on my own knickers for when I had my knee surgery....a girl just has to maintain her modesty :-) ].

For those that like to keep up with the posh frocks that I sew I have another wedding dress to work on today [can't show you that one yet sorry]

..... this is one I steamed at the end of last week for a wedding on Saturday.

... and a little bridesmaid's dress I have to take in some time this week.

That's all I have to show and tell this week so please pop over to Julia's, our Queen of snoop, to join in the WOYWW fun.

I'm totally in awe of your wedding dresses (even though I must image them). I also like how you use your medical training to your advantage. Being able to understand the client's needs is half the battle and it sounds like you are really on top of this one. Lovely fabric, too. Sounds like business has picked up again, now that your road is open. Happy WOYWW.

How clever, Annie! All these pockets and helping things sewed on that waistcoat. I love waistcoats but it is not very trendy for women at that moment, isn't it? I am also fond of overalls (e.g. silk) and cannot find any since years.... I am thinking of a gardener's outfit just like what you describe: plenty of pockets for secateurs, trowels, twine etc.

you are a busy bee Annie. Just thought I'd pop round a couple of you girls before I get onto some crochet - I'm hooked (get it lmao) and I've been desperately trying to get the cards that I needed to do out of the way so I could play again.
Take care now

Lovely fabric Annie, great idea about all the pockets for the gentleman to store his stuff in securely. Well done on a year of blogging and glad to had a nice time with Lynn.

ohoo Happy non-Anniversary day!! and the knickers, yes, when I broken my leg, many many years ago when I was stillat home with parents, I was in traction for about 7 weeks and my mum cut my tiny knickers up added little ribbons at the side...I'd wash them and hang them on the traction wires, but the male nurse turned outto be gay! I thought it was such a thoughtful idea, although she did change me for doing it!!

there was a good one of me as a clown... but I don't have it..I went to a local fete and the year before I was there entertaining the children by face painting...any way, this time I was there as me..just wondering around with my mum and in the tent full of local people's photo's was a huge one of me as a clown!! I was sooo shocked and just pointed at it and yelled, "Oh thats me!!" very embarrassing!!

Wow that is beautiful material ...and the waistcoat will be amazing ... how I wish I had known you when my husband was alive ...he was adicted to waistcoats and I always wanted to get a special one made for him ...I think I gave away over 30, many of very flamboyant materials.

Oh my word!!! You have been soooo busy and yet you still have time to read over 100 blogs??? Gracious me! I am sorry not to have been around for a wee while I haven't had chance to read anyones recently and am treating myself to a bit of a catch up this evening before going to do some ironing. Love the little crochet flowers, so pretty and as I have just been saying to your sister as I can't crochet I am dead impressed. I can't believe it has been a year either since you started blogging. When you first left messages on my blog you didn't have one for me to return the visits on and now you have FIFTY comments on this one alone. How time flies. Anyway I promise to pop back more often!

PS my mum is down your way at the mo in Ludlow for the festival though she comes back tomorrow - it certainly doesn't feel like two weeks she's been gone.
